it is way up there. With Heat, all the scenes are both Long and interesting, shot and edited as an epic. like a mini-series. a ton of dialogue which at the time doesn't seem too important but later you realize it marks their characters. brilliant. goes against the grain of Hollywood, but was a pioneer....
Adam said that perfectly. I've had my side eye on Grillo for years on these minor parts and then recently he's been playing bigger roles. Loved him in Billions.
MICHAEL MANN - I'm a total fan! Manhunter is one of my favorite movies - William Peterson's one of my fav actors. The soundtrack is amazing too. Brilliant work.
I love how Ace is so cool, that when he has a special guest on, he will take his precious time from watching Love Boat reruns to watch a 2 min. trailer for the movie they are promoting. Way to support them, Ace man!
Did anyone notice that the movie "Den of thieves" (which was a great movie with Gerard Butler) copied a ton of story line from the original HEAT movie?? It just shows how influential Michael was. He utterly created the groundwork for modern action/crime movies that still last today. If you've already watched it, watch it again and see how many parts of the movie resemble HEAT
One of the best shows on tv was Kingdom and Frank was incredible! Great actor and very underated show about mma fighting. If you get a chance check it out. I never see him do interviews so this was awesome! Mid fifties?? Holy crap he takes great care of himself bc he looks maybe 40!
@@christopherallen9580 I know right! Amazing hair! He's just a great looking real man. Big fan of his wide range of work but Kingdom and the damaged family dynamic was incredible to watch. Riveting! Whatever he does, he puts 100% into it and I really respect his work ethic!
Manhunter cast was less visible (other than the guy under the seats cameo) and seems more realistic than "Silence". "Thief" maybe James Caan's best ...?
I never thought about it till now, but Frank Grillo would be a great Neil McCauley (DeNiro's character) in Heat 2. I was thinking Jon Bernthal, but Grillo would be a fantastic choice too!
Last of the Mohicans. Manhunter. Heat. Thief (!!!). And yet....his most AMAZING achievement is making a mullet/ fu manchu combo look ACTUALLY COOL on Colin Ferrell in "Miami Vice". But he had history with that particular title, so he knew how far he could push it....
Picking up Heat 2 today, can't wait to check it out. Now I just have to learn how to read. Me and Aceman. Whenever I see there are guests in the 1 on 1 format, I'll just assume they're outside the liberal echo chamber and that's why Bald and Gina especially aren't in studio.
Off topic. My condolences to Adam on the passing of Anne Heche. Listening to ur interview w/ her a few months back, and her interview with you on her pod 'better together' it was clear she both admired you and was a bit smitten with you. Peace
She died because she was a shitty driver. Speeding and on coke, In fact, speeding so fast in a residential area that she crashed into someone's home. I mean WTF? Wake up. She was an entitled has-been actress who had issues. People die everyday under much more tragic circumstances that are actually beyond their control, unlike Anne Heche....What are you going to do next, give your condolences to Ellen Degeneres (her one time Lesbian lover) whom she left her husband for at the time....
when adam was talking to grillo about his friends who died recently, it made me think of anne hesche, who was on recently. she had a very strange life from the beginning and came to a very sudden tragic death the other day. she was making a documentary on child trafficking that would have gotten important people in trouble and there were people around her when she died who had very strange explanations of what happened.
@@User-54631 there's video of her sitting up and conscious being loaded into the ambulance and trying to free herself from her restraints. there are people claiming she was already in a body bag while still conscious and struggling on the way to the hospital. her boyfriend said she was going to be ok right after the crash (maybe wishful thinking). she bought a red wig at "glass salon" only a few minutes before the crash and the salon owner said she seemed normal. he posted a pic online of them together minutes before the big accident. he said she was there about 10 minutes and she was kind and cordial. she slammed her mini-cooper into a garage, sped off, almost ran a woman over in an alley, crashed into a jaguar, then finally crashed into the santa monica home. they say she was burned when the car caught fire. i get that, when she came down from the drugs she was on, her vitals probably crashed (she was admitted as critical) and they may have medically induced a coma to combat swelling from head trauma, but the explanation of how she died in the coma and the explanation of how they transported her to the hospital make no sense.
You can't blame the race car driver..I feel the enormity of speed into a curve..I feel the city didn't understand speed and curve..but before that., would do the slow motion of any angle... we're 200000+ for God's sake.,sake also healthful in moderation, as anything
HEAT is the greatest film ever made. Michael Mann is an icon.

Best role that Henry Rollins ever had.

Michael Mann is so red I thought he was getting ready for Heat 2.
Glad to see Grillo lives up to his image. Principled and an unapologetic male. Glad the public has woken up and seems to agree.
Well said and I totally agree.
He is also on all the sauce.
Love Michael Mann films.
No one else can do style and substance like Mann.

Frank is a cool dude. Guys guy who just learned it from the men around him and passing it down to the young men around him. Makes all the difference
Frank Grillo was amazing in Kingdom.❤️
"Boss level" is a great flic and Frank is great in it.
"authenticity n genuinity" sells. agreed.
100% agree. Just watch "Manhunter" (1986)

..so many..All gold.
Indeed.
Hello from Denver Colorado
Enjoy..and get your families, ready for Winter..loves
Adam, please have Grillo as a recurring guest on your show. I hope ya'll follow up after the show and have a life long bromance/carmance!
Manhunter cast was less visible (other than the guy under the seats cameo) and seems more realistic than "Silence". "Thief" maybe James Caan's best ...?
yea, gotta check out another Hannibal the cannibal:) Last of the Mochicans was really good!
Sounds like Lamborghini was the Steve Jobs of cars.

I loved Grillo in Warrior
The branches over Paul Newman was cool
Nice shirt Adam

Do we have to have a conspiracy theory about everything on Earth.
@@aprilrawls5162 yes, everything on earth must have a conspiracy theory.
Frank left his out trenbolone
Bologna sandwiches in his diet.
Did you read the books ? WAY BETTER THEN THE MOVIES . BUT NEVER WATCHED THE FIRST ONE WITH COX.
What are you talking about Aceman the Toyota Corolla is one of the most reliable production cars ever made
Manhunter is the shizzzzzz. Probably more repeat views for moi than any other from the series.
Cars are boring.

Heat 2 is sure an inspired title, lol.
Grillos good
All good, everyone bbq
NOBODY F WITH VAN-STONE !
Ace get some trt tips from Frank and get ripped.
ACS is so much better without Gina!
Was this a sanctioned round of ass-kiss rodeo or just an exhibition event?
I thinkAdam is on the spectrum.
Hey Adam, what kind of American patriot are you for not calling out Grillo on accepting roles in Chinese Anti-American CCP funded propaganda films?
lmfao
Everyone got their finger in the preverbal Chinese pie.
Adam! Take a sip of water! That mouth smacking is annoying
Too many guests recently. I’ve been listening less.
Sorry i only lasted 15 mins into the show 😴
No one cares
