    I have seen a lot of boatbuilding methods, I've never seen the dowel and bark technique before. Also, the painting on these boats makes them real works of art.

    Very instructive to see boats built in such a different way that I am used to. So many ways to get a good result. I respect those who can make such a beautiful boats with fairly simple tools. And those stunning decorative paintings ... However, I wouldn't want to have to repaint the boat when it's time for refurbishment :-D Simply amazing!

      Could be because they use modern boat building methods ...There is not a lot of tradition going on here

    Thank you so much for documenting and sharing. Malay boatbuulding is as fine as european boatbuilding but less well-known.

    Great! Could've done with some sexy shots of the boats on the water as a payoff though
