I felt the gold outfit refers to the time when love was golden and sparkly. The high times. His hair is in place and he’s well put together but in the red his hair is messy and he looks tired. The red outfit is sleeveless like the saying “taking the gloves off “. The b&w scenes are faded memories. I absolutely love the song.
