- Via and Alfred were kindred souls. They would do anything to get what they wanted no matter what the cost. He wanted a future in politics. One of my favorite movies of all time. Ang ganda ng plot ng story nag simula ng simple at yng dalay kung pano naging komplikado ang lahat. Ang ganda talaga. Walang ibang artistang pwedeng gumanap sa character nila kundi sila sharon hilda christopher at bembol lang.

Was just curious of this movie. Indeed, Sharon's acting is so good. When she was drove out of their house, her acting was so true.
My favorite scene when she was driven out of her own house by Alfred and his kabit Sharon's acting is superb she should have won a couple of best actress award on this movie, however in the late 80s local award giving bodies usually have favoritism in giving acting awards

I saw this aa a kid, and until now, nalulungkot pa rin ako para sa character ni Bembol Roco. Rody’s last line of “mahal mo pa rin s’ya”, was one of the most heartbreaking scenes I’ve seen in Philippine cinema. Walang explanations, at walang masyadong salita. Salve did not go into any monologue to explain her feelings. The scene of Sharon hugging Rody’s dead body told so much more than any words can convey.

Another masterpiece of the great, late Direk Lino Brocka. Hilda Koronel has one of the most beautiful faces in showbiz. She's Intelligent as well. Perfect ang cast na kasama ni Sharon sa movie na 'to. Christopher de Leon is superb. Bembol Rocco is at par with his fellow actors. Direk Lino Brocka is greatly missed.

One of the best pinoy melodramas in the late '80s that still used komiks as source material back then. The impressive casting of all Lino Brocka babies (Hilda Koronel, Christopher De Leon and Bembol Roco) when Brocka took over from original planned director Laurice Guillen with Sharon Cuneta (the Philippines' Megastar) as the lead all came up with strong performances especially Sharon as the vengeful Salve. Acclaimed-Director Lino Brocka brings out the best in her in this one, most especially the 'final' confrontation scene. You feel for her character as she try to rebuild her life while at the same time planning to destroy the life of the man she truly love.

I've always had a soft spot for Bembol Rocco, he played a villain a lot but a villain who had a heart. In the early days of her acting career as a serious actor, when she was honing her craft one could already tell that Sharon was one bright star in the making as far as serious acting is concerned she's one of the best.

The difference between now and then...Liza really has a point when being boxed in a loveteam. 😀. Look at Sharon at such young age, she played challenging mature roles already.
It is Liza's fault for not raising her concerns to her manager and ABS mngt in the first place. She only complained recently (25 yrs old) when she could have done it a long time ago when she was 18. Duh! Liza used the victim card to vent out her regrets and frustrations in her career to the public, which should have been done privately. 🙄
