Robben ..... ever growing, ever exploring. Moving to Europe, after seemingly so settled in Nashville. this guy's an endless story unfolding before his fan's eyes.
So this is from Dec. 2022... so nice to hear about what it's like to play in a big band for Robben living over the pond nowadays. Kelly & Robben, thanks for sharing this with us, it's fun to know that you are enjoying yourselves in Europe/GB. Be healthy & strong, we send love & best wishes for fulfilling your dreams!
What a brilliant interview. Relaxed, inspiring and timeless. Thank you for posting. Fave part “I want to keep playing, I just don’t want to work…” That’s incredible. Is it ok for me to want that as well in my late 40’s? 😂
during my time in a Dojo course with RF I learnt a lot .... it was a supplement of being in an online course with my friend and master Carl Verheyen, a master and also a friend of RF.....both are excellent....
Yes, Mr. Ford, Iceland is part of Europe. Also is member of the European Economic Area, the Council of Europe an the Schengen Area. Greetings from Spain and thank you for your art.
Oh man. You moved to Paris? I met you in LA at my school long ago, and totally coincidentally I kept moving to places you moved to earlier. LOL Seriously. I'm not a stalker. LA, Ojai, NY. Now I'm moving to Nashville. Was hoping to meet up there. And you left! Does this mean I'll be moving to Paris next? LOL. I actually lived there long ago for a year. Maybe time to go back. So glad you're happy and relaxing these days from the grind. La joie de vivre est le plus important! Félicitations mon ami!
I remember watching Robben play when he was in Santa Cruz, Ca as a teenager. He was backing Jimmy Witherspoon with, Stan Poplin on bass andJimmy Balm drums. He was a great blues player even back then.
So sad the Robben Ford Guitar Safari didn't go ahead this year, was so looking forward to it. Love his playing and attitude. Fingers crossed it happens at another place and time... I'll be there!
@davidsheriff9274 Yep, all booked, fligjts as well and the organiser advised that it had been cancelled. Very sad about that because it would have been awesome.
Hey, Robin Ford Hey, Robin. Sp Spelled it wrong. I saw you at Stanford with George Duke and the LA Express and you're a fusion.Asked you about that Yoshi's at the back door with your mom and mother.Do you remember either

What a crack up, he makes me laugh, the Talk to Your Daughter Album changed my life as a guitar player. His phrasing is amazing. Rock on Robben!!!

Listening to Robben Ford makes me feel less neurotic about playing guitar.
See you at Ronnie Scott’s next month
was good 40 years ago but bro, cmon, retire, nice playing with charlie musselwhite used to be good then
Thanks for the loyalty...turncoat. Enjoy the EU...and the taxes, and the regulation. Buzz of Robin
Only Robben could compare his music with mashed potatoes. Maybe if there is cloves and nutmeg in the potatoes….
oops Buzz ' OFF ' robin
