My father had a set up of a village with a H.O. scale trains when I was little. He had every small detail accounted for. All of the buildings had lights and the railroad crossings worked. Fond memories of those trains. Namaste.
I run my HO trains outside, and the secret is to plow before the snow is twenty or thirty scale feet deep. Ten millimeters, less than one half inch of snow, means almost three feet of snow on the rails in HO scale. So plow early and plow often. An excellent video. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. ♡ T.E.N.
P.S. And YES I leave my trains outside. The weathering of the rolling stock is excellent, and the water is not an issue. I even have a few locomotives that will run under the water, while others stall and make electric bubbles in the water. I occasionally have issues with the wind or critters causing a derailment, or something falling on the track causing a collision or derailment that requires repairs to the unit, but real railroads run outside and models are just smaller versions of the real thing. P.S. When you repair a piece of rolling stock that ran into a giant tree limb, you give it character. ♡ T.E.N.
Very enjoyable to watch. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to make this video! Put watching Garden scale trains cutting through snow on the list of fun winter activities!!
Another inch of snow and you'd have had to call out the rotary! Don't get me wrong; I'm sufficiently impressed with the effectiveness of your wedge plow. It recalls the scene in "Murder on the Orient Express" where two locomotives must charge a deep drift many times before the wedge plow finally breaks through. This is a marvelously well done video!
For the first 40 seconds I thought, "OMG those trees are giant!" Then I thought " that's some deeeep ass snow" then I realised it was a model train. Now I feel dumb
This is pretty incredible, when I first saw the title I thought it would be a "real" train. But then I realized that it was a scale train. It was very real like, just like a large train. Great video.
That is some deep, sticky snow! Try filling that Russell with ballast, and get those wings working with a servo. You can do it! Looks great. Thanks for sharing.....
I need to read the titles better. I was thinking DAMN those are big trees. :) Cool video. Used to have a friend who had an indoor track that covered his entire basement, we spent hours on it to make it a scale replica of a local RR pass (complete with it's four lighted tunnels). Once done, we mounted a small camera on the front loco - it was fricken COOL. Miss those days.
That is a great video. Thank you for making it. Looks like you can justify a Jordan spreader to management for the area where the main parallels itself!
there is something about watching this that is immensely satisfying. It affects me in the most Zen way possible. Relaxation Factor 10. ... :) ... Edit: ... subbed ... :)
I can hear it starting to rain making the snow heavy. I've tried this several times and never have enough tractive effort to plow unless it's a really light snow....Love the Reading...I have an S-4 in Reading and n unpainted FA I want to paint in Reading...
We call that ,"Sierra Cement" here in the Northern California Sierra Nevada.shits so hard that I saw a guy break his jaw as he fell off his snowmobile, course it hit him in the face, but we all told the people in the bar later the snow did it.....😏
Dude, You got to get some weight in that plow unit. Very cool. You got to get some wings on that plow. That is some very heavy snow. If that was real life, I think that plow would have also come off the rails. Imagine 5 ft of slushy snow. Even a rotary would have gotten stuck.
There's just something comforting about watching a small train clear up snow.
It really is
*no*
Awesome!! Love it!! There isnt enough!!!!
Yes.
I agree
A wise man once said that "If you dont succeed at first, try try again." Absolutely love this video. Great work
Best thing I've seen on RUclips in a while... That is one dedicated hobbyist.
Thank you for the nice comment. I'm glad you liked the video!

That's really nice. Lot of snow for a model to push.Maybe a little more weight in the plow car. Excellent video.

Very enjoyable to watch. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to make this video! Put watching Garden scale trains cutting through snow on the list of fun winter activities!!
Beautiful, absolutely wonderful. It is clearing snow like the real plow train.
I’ll tell u that is satisfying the way it plows the snow

Great train run there sir. My kids enjoyed watching the plow work.
That's very good! Now it's time to get out your rotary plow
Thank you for the video. It obviously has a lot of power and traction to get through that snow.
Thank you very much for taking the time to show this. It is cool, You can swing by the O.c.railroad anytime and run your trains or ours.
You are the King of G Scale snowplowing. All Hail Garden RR!
I’m not even into trains but love watching these
This just has to be the coolest train I've ever seen. I'm just so amazed.
This is by far the best ever outdoor layout video ! Way to go
This reminded me of Mr.Rogers. Very relaxing, I can watch this any-day. #stressrelief
For the first 40 seconds I thought, "OMG those trees are giant!" Then I thought " that's some deeeep ass snow" then I realised it was a model train. Now I feel dumb

Omg I've never seen a model train go through snow before! So cool!
This is neat, a model train set clearing real snow off the tracks. First I've seen & probably be the only one I'll see. ❄❄❄❄❄
Very nice setup. I could watch it for hours.
I loved to watch this back in 2014 when I was 6
Awesome Train! Sebastian Bach & Bubbles would love this!!
ShinVega How would Steve French feel though?
Amazing. Prepared the scenery including the mini trees, laid the tracks, had them fill up with snow, and filmed the plough.
Wow how awesome is that!. Just like the real ones. Maybe even better!
This is pretty incredible, when I first saw the title I thought it would be a "real" train. But then I realized that it was a scale train. It was very real like, just like a large train. Great video.
That is totally awesome. Now I'm going to have to build one.
Great video! Awesome train... sitting here with my grandpa showing him all the top videos on g-scale trains on RUclips.
That is a cute set-up. So realistic.
That is some deep, sticky snow!
Try filling that Russell with ballast, and get those wings working with a servo.
You can do it!
Looks great. Thanks for sharing.....
thats really cool that even on a model train that model can still do what it was designed to do in real life
Snow predicted this Saturday in Jersey.
Old Penna , CNJ , Lehigh Valley and B&O lines here if you want to head this way ! Lol ... Great video❄️🚂
I need to read the titles better. I was thinking DAMN those are big trees. :)

It's never too late to do it again.
Go to Model Train Forum.com to get your inspiration.
Not only does it look cool and realistic, but the plow actually works, even in really deep snow.
that is the greatest thing I've ever seen in garden railroads
That is very cool and interesting. Such a nice outdoor hobby!
That's awesome!. Much appreciated you just showed when you were trying to plow vs show us the train backing up. Greats cuts in the video man.
That is so Unbelievable .... I love this and your recreating the real thing ...Just unbelievable
That is some thicc snow I can’t believe that three model trains can plow that snow
Wow!'it's actually running in all that snow ❄ 😳
This train is relentless!
That's pretty cool. Time to build a Rotary Plow!!
fabulous! I would not have the courage to test my locos this way.
That is a great video. Thank you for making it. Looks like you can justify a Jordan spreader to management for the area where the main parallels itself!
Hi, super cool video my friend and nice rig. Many thanks.
This was very satisfying to watch.

i am in awe. This is just totally cool. I only wish I could do something like this. Whomever "dislikes" this video I would to know what they expect.
I never seen a model train do this.
It was awesome!
And to think, he had to wait for it to snow enough to use the train plow.
Beautiful!
Namaste.
Love these types of videos!
This inspire me to get into the hobby. Nice job!!!
Bravo Maestro! 😊😊
That is awesome and adorable.

Cool project
Very cool. Thanks for posting!
Man snow piercer 2 is looking good
Very nice. That's the equivelent of about six feet of snow. One would think the electrical connection would short.
Absolutely the best G scale snow plow, here in Californian near the beach the only thing we could plow is all the democratics
that's crap Chris....you know Dems are out of season! LOL

that's exactly what my neighbors think of me
Who cares what the neighbours think! Live your dream!
Awesome video

1 million + views! Good stuff Charlie! Might build a small G Scale railroad at our new place.
