Before 1983 cricket world cup , bcci didn't have the resources , not even half of the support our indian football team is getting right now. When we won the 1983 world cup , it showed everyone that cricket has future in india. So similarly if football has to succeed in india , the board and players have to give their 100% effort and stop playing this victim card of *grassroot level* , *no money* , *no quality players* , *no bench quality* , *no intensity*. Igor stimac needs to leave and board needs to hire a manager who can work with these players and not cry always about not having quality players , camp and build a short term result oriented project because long term project can only work if short term project is showing good signs. Set a benchmark for the manager i.e qualifying for atleast next round in afc asian cup , world cup qualifier. Atlast even if the team loses a game , the players should be giving their 100 % effort no matter what the result is and that is up to the coach , a good coach can make players play good and instill some mentality in these players because some of the mistakes these players do are not acceptable like missing easy goals , poor touches etc bcs these are basics
BCCI has done everything to grow cricket in India, employing some illegal methods that have still helped cricket grow. Their approach is dynamic and futuristic. Meanwhile, the AIFF is still planning with the same late 19th-century mindset,corruption, mismanagement, neglecting investment in junior teams, and giving more importance to the ISL than the national team, all of which are holding back the Indian national team.

There is no clear tactics/role set out by the coaching department. Under Stephane Constantine, there were clear tactics on which players grew. We had the best defense in couple of decades under his tenure. But the current coach has been complaining, right after few months after his arrival. Seen so many tournaments he coached, still not able to find the identity of his team. Probably the best performance was during the qualifying matches for AFC Asian Cup, where Indian team showed glimses of tiki taka, but those skills dissipated quite quickly.
