My first All Ireland was 1958 and followed them through 60’s & the great games in the 70’s ( when my father was Chief Steward) but this team is special and has achieved true greatness. On the field and off they are an inspiration to all that’s good about Gaelic football. Up the Dubs!

Was never a big GAA fan in Ireland. But this was a wonderful game of football. The physical fitness of these guys is extraordinary. The GAA has grown and grown (in the right way) in recent years. I wish it the best of luck in the future. By the way, I lived within 200 metres of Croke Park in Emmet Street. Great atmosphere on game days.
If this sport had gone professional it could have been a big global sport but I don't think the Irish care they don't need the rest of the world to like it, its their game .
Don't know how people can get rapt in a game that only people in your own country play or care about that's dull after a while beating another country is the ultimate in sport not playing your own all the time.World champions is far better than just county or provincial champions.
Just watched all the current Dubs matches for the last few years. By far the best team of all time , even the 4 in a row Kerry team looked average compared to them. It will be a long time before we see a team as good as this....from a Louth man.
Excellent Kerry team whose day will come but right now the dubs are just too good. Jack Mccaffrey is incredible. Would be in anyone’s top 15 of all time at this stage surely and one of the first names on the sheet. Just a frightening talent

It would have been great to have the clock and scoreboard on the screen. I noticed the commentators went very long periods without mentioning the score and it made me think of visually impaired people trying to enjoy the game and how their enjoyment would be enhanced if the commentators kept them up to date...maybe something to mention to the commentary teams for future games?

Aaron mooneyham Yes australia is full of people of irish descent and they are many first generation out there at the moment and a good few playing australian football professionally because of the similarities in the games.However Australian football was standardised a good 30 years before gaelic so its hard to know.The irish would have brought folk football games with them,but they would have varied in rules and the australia aborigines played a folk football game called mamgrok and some say that was the main influence on the birth of the game.

As an Aussie rules fan, I have a couple of questions about GAA: 1) can you do soloing like soccer players using only feet or do you have to use both hands and feet? 2) can you tackle a player like in footy or in rugby? How to get control of the ball from the opponents? Thank you.
Yes you can kick it soccer style, usually a player will then chip it up to there hands. The rules are open to interpretation much more so than soccer and you can tackle as long as its a fair attempt to get the ball or a shoulder to shoulder is allowed to just no dragging people down
As per usual Dublin having to win against 16 men... referee seemingly happy for Kerry players to be dragging out of the arms of Dublin players for 70 plus minutes with barely any inclination of blowing a whistle...if you are green and gold you can take as many as 9 steps without soloing according to this cod job.. a Dublin player makes eye contact it’s a Kerry free.... Some Dublin team though, to beat Kerry, their grim ‘tactics’ AND that cod of a ref and his mates...
