Great demo! It’s a very cool, versatile pedal. It’s doing a stage 3 drive type of thing on my board, but, as you saw, it can cover a ton of ground. Now I gotta go try out some of those settings you were messing with!
great demo! this thing sounds killer. i had Kilt V1. loved the general flavor, but i actually struggled a lot with how much of the lows it cut from my core tone, especially if i wanted to use it on the lower end of the gain range. this looks like it solves that. it sounds SO good with some lows dialed back in.
Yeah well said, and I feel like I had a very similar experience. Literally just a little extra low end control and it makes it a whole different pedal.
Gosh man. That sounded so good at pretty much every stage(1,2,3) for me. Because I was going to try to get one eventually and use it probably as a stage 3 drive for me. But it really did sound really good at lower gain as well. And I can't really tell at which end was better.
Yeah I had the same thoughts. It's hard to pick a gain stage to land with because it sounded so awesome in so many different spots. Good luck nailing down your choice 😂
What kind of gate do you use with your rig? I get TONS of hiss and feedback when in the fuzz mode and even distortion mode with this pedal when gain is up
None actually. Yeah it’s common to have some noise when those modes on this drive are on. But I was also working my volume pedal and turning it down while I was talking.
Question - how are you maxing out your benson germanium boost without a crazy spike in volume? I can’t even go past 6 without a volume jump big enough to make my sound men complain
I'm still kind of going back and forth. It sounds so good at lower volumes around 6-7 but gets wild when you really push it. I'm not certain ill keep it super boosted, it just depends on the goal I want to accomplish. But ultimately a little compression in post helps tighten that massive volume jump
What pickups do you have in your Portlander? Mine has grizzlies and they’re great except I get this spike around 2k on the high B and E strings that I can’t seem to dial out
@@KenyonReed2 Kenyon, you absolutely have to check out the Case Study Compressor. I was always a Keeley Comp guy (for like 15+ years) and his Compressor completely changed my mind about the importance of compressors...totally worth it.
a compressor on top to me stuffs up the over drive tones on chords. messes with the feel of OD pedals or valve amp drive. Over drive is a form of compression as it is alone. the only time i like it with compression is for melodic solo's that have some long sustain notes held, but that still happens naturally with an over driven amp feeding back on itself. pedal has potential, just prefer in the context mentioned. each to their own set up.
Thanks for checking it out! Honored to have earned a place on your board!
What are the dimensions??

Great demo brother! I love my Aspen too! But you make everything sound amazing 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Your review format is so refreshing and engaging! Of course, the tasteful playing puts it over the top!
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
Your clean is soo compres..😒😒
I love your pedal demos more than anybody else’s. Thanks for these!
Let’s go!! Great sounding pedal. Great work as always Kenyon 😏
Holy cow!!! It’s like someone designed a pedal just for me!! What a great pedal!! Great demo too!!
No kidding! Same. I honestly get a little giddy every time I think back on getting to use this live and the versatility it offers.
Let’s go man! Pumped to hear this
Definitely love the sound of this, going on my wishlist and could very much replace me wanting a kilt on my board.

Glad to see your face Kenyon❤
ASPEN RIPS🤘🏻🔥 Thank God for casestudyeffects 🙌😁

This sold me on the aspen thanks!!

Great review. Do you find the Aspen has similar touch sensitivity to the Kilt V1?
Thanks!
I feel like it has a bit more touch sensitivity since it’s seems to have a bit more headroom and volume on tap

I've got Lindy Fralin Modern PAF's in it. They've been in my guitar for at least 4 or 5 years now and i'm 100% satisfied with them.
Love it man, great tone. I also love the compressor, what are you using and what settings?
Thanks man. It’s a tone press compressor. Just some basic settings at noon

Maravilhoso esse pedal!!! Pra trazer ao Brasil tem desconto para garantir na lista de espera?
Yes you can sign up for his waiting list from his website!
Yeah, the biggest issue with the Kilt is that there isn’t enough volume, so it’s quieter than most pedals. This pedal seems promising!
Yeah I loved the kilt, but had a similar issue in the end. And this one is delivering!
