hello Ibiza unique greetings from India . I completely agree that mwm phase is an excellent DVS solution ,I am using this since July 2019 and I am satisfied with it ,it is fantastic . Now lets come to the point , after watching your video ,which is very simple and educative I found that you are missing a couple of things about the product . The first thing is that you must register this unit online .Second thing is update this unit I mean the firmware. The third most important thing is that after you have successfully connected it to your software then remove the mwm box from the computer and connect it directly to the wall socket of your electricity using your phone charger adapter this will keep the battery of your phase units safe and always use the magnetic strips provided with the units this will avoid drifting of bpm although bpm is not stable in phase dvs . Last thing is Catalina has been bloody blunder for DJs , I just want to suggest that please beware of any Mac update because these updates sometimes are very dangerous , that's it thank you and please excuse me my English is not good ,keep spinning and stay safe
Hi there, now that Phase can operate in HID mode with serato, have you tried this workflow? I wonder how well the connection would work with a soundcard, now that the DS1 is also discontinued along with all the previous Rane SL* boxes. Had similar problems with non functioning software and hardware like you, and really don't want to spend another 3 or 400 on a secondhand serato soundcard plus 400 on Phase just to find that it's not great or that they kill/don't support HID Phase on the old boxes with the new serato software etc. Thanks!
Thank you Discey for a informative video on Phase. Im looking into getting it for my dj set up. But since Im an old dog of a DJ I like to mix between vinyl and digital in my sets. Would you say it would be a problem to set up Phase and Serato with the Denon DS1 in the line input on a two chanel mixer and still use my Technics pluged in on phono and be able to switch between the two, much as you would with a CDJ? It looks like there i no problem taking the Phase of the decks switching between vinyl and Phase.
Hi thanks for this upload I've got traktor native instruments for over 10years and its starting to fail, but denon ds1 is disconnected now and very hard to find, would a rane sl4 for serato work the same as the denon? I brought phase 18months ago and have never got it working with traktor but it seems to work best with sereto by the looks of it so is rane worth buying as a substitute for denon ds1? Thanks so much, been watching this video alot the last year been very helpful.
You would need a mixer with a sound card in it like a Pioneer DJM S11. With out it, you cannot manipulate the software with just phase. Phase just has the signal the software reads. You need the software that comes from either the Denon box or a mixer with serato or other software built in it.
I compared Traktor vs Rekordbox vs Serato DJ .land the winner is Traktor in term of sound quality. Only Serato Scratch Live is comparable with Traktor in terms of quality because this software were developed by Rane . Serato DJ is totally different in bad ways really . I compared the same track and same mixer and Serato Scratch Live sounds better by farz. Rekordbox is a copy-paste of Serato a bull shit. Only Traktor can be take in consideration in terms of sound quality with a very clean layout . Question : Denos ds1 works in dvd with Traktor Pro 3 ?

I understood ? When playing, it is better to connect the base - case with the charger to an electrical outlet, than to play with a USB connection?
Or only to charge on the socket and play on usb?
Nice way for using Serato-DVS. Makes DJing very independent from casual Club-Connection-Problems... by working with turntables. thanks FR

Easiest was to set up in a club, bar and gig. "Plug and Play", small, and portable.

Yes mate I brought a used rane sl3 with serato and it fired stright up. Worked a treat since. 👌
Check Denons all in one stand-alone controller. You can use it with Serato but you don’t need a laptop anymore
