After watching many videos, I do not see how fridge can be better than, say, double hydro, in a Hyperbloom team. Can it, with Layla?

It would have made her super unique tho 🥲. Super big shame she scales off of HP since there aren’t any HP swords other than key. She’s still very very strong. I use her with wanderer faru Benny and she FUCKS

Layla is my favorite character in Sumeru. So fun easy and straightforward to build, comfy to play, minimal investment, funny and unique character.

One of my favourite Genshin things is seeing a full min maxed Layla take out a boss while sleeping in her bubble the whole time.
As someone who doesn't know how to dodge, Layla made my life easy. I have her on a hybrid build holding a harbinger of dawn. 33k HP, 70%+ crit rate, 170% crit damage. She's my one and only c6.
Don't you ever pull for zhongli or else you'll forget how to dodge altogether

As a Yoimiya main without Zhongli, she is a MUST! Love pairing them with XQ and Bennet. She’s also great with Ayaka’s Freeze ❤️
Well c6 Thoma would be better. Or c6 diona because they both also increase damage. Diona with extra EM and Thoma with increasing attacks

@@vladmatsnev I know. But even on c0 Thoma would be the better option because with 2 pyro character you get access to pyro resonance as well

And because it's Yoimiya team, I would recommend going for maximum comfort. Hell, sometimes Zhongli's pillar irritates me. And you have to use hold E
Thoma feels basically unusable without C4 anyway haha. And without VV vape he’s barely better than Layla anyway since Layla c4 also gives a buff

Being able to shield in co-op with her c1 is so nice too?
I often walk new players through world/weekly bosses and it's nice to have her giving them a shield and letting them drop the damage comfortably

She was my first c6, and ive been using her in my nahida hyperbloom team since, and sometimes in my national, lemme say something, at least at c6 she generates SO MUCH ENERGY, she makes all my characters, cryo or not, be burst ready off cooldown almost everytime, and the shielding is crazyyy
As a new player with Eula as my "chosen character", Layla seems like a really strong option for me. Once I reach AR 45, I plan to farm the Pale Flame and Tenacity artifact domain to gear them both up at the same time.
I think you're trying to say that she's your main. Unless i'm misunderstanding.
@@cajunseasoning1846 Yes, I guess that's what I meant. She's the character I'm prioritizing for upgrades so that I always have at least one on-field DPS unit that can effectively face enemies at my current world level.

I really like her on Shenhe cryo team. With C6 she really pops off with her slugs.
I really need to build her some damage artifacts, I'm using her in mono-cryo with Shenhe, and now that I'm less terrible at dodging I'm fine losing a few points of shield strength
I'm a relatively new player and I've been liking her in my Eula team. Even if she isn't as good as Zhongli, she's good enough, was free in the 3.8 event, and allows me to save my pulls for other characters instead like Raiden.

You mean the weapon ascension domain? They're both cringe but the weapon one is the hydro enemies + slowing waters.
@@bjornnilsson2941 no, the domain with all the cryo slimes and abyss mages. Since Layla’s shield absorbs 250% more cryo dmg, it’s super good against all the falling icicle interruptions and cryo attacks

Layla is great, I love using her. And thank you for the tip to use her with Wanderer, I will try that for sure. It makes sense since Wanderer can't swirl geo, so might as well give him something to play with. Thank you for the awesome video!
Glad to see some love for Layla, I started Genshin in 3.1 and pulled her on the Yae banner shortly after. She's been a great addition to my account and it's crazy to see how underrated she is. So many older players say "why use Layla, just use Zhongli instead," but Zhongli's rerun in 4.0 will be the first time he's even rerun since I've started playing and I've already been 36 starring abyss for a few months. Layla is more than good enough to fulfill my shielder needs and I think I'm just gonna skip Zhongli because he seems like overkill.
reading your comment i feel like you're speaking exactly of my genshin journey. however i didn't skip zhongli for one reason. sometimes i want both teams to have a shielder in abyss. having zhongli is more optimal for some teams only because zhongli shield last 20 seconds as opposed to 12 of layla. i have a really perfect synergy with layla on my main ayato hyperbloom team. (ayato my first limited 5 star, keqing being first 5 star in standard) both have short rotations.
zhongli will fix the issue where I've always had troubles with yoimiya rotation being slightly longer than layla shield. i suck at dodging in the game cuz of how reliant on layla I've always been especially on ayato team she never let me down. lmao
sometimes tbh layla is more optimal than zhongli. eula benefits from the cryo resonance and her shield cast animation is much shorter for quicker swap on some teams
i am loving the regular updates, every vid is nuanced for each chara build and that's what the community needs 📿

Great Video, as always. It's worth noting that Layla not only has one of the strongest shields in the game, but also the comfort, of her shield having the same cooldown as its duration. In addition, she can proc the tenacity buff much more comfortably than Zhongli, who relies on opponents standing in his pillar radius.
Yeah. I use her in my double hydro Hu Tao team because then I don't have to bother with a pillar that's either in the way or too far away. You also get some freezes in which turns into melts.
FINALLY Someone said that she can proc the artifact set better than Zhongli, Zhongli system is not bad, but Layla is def more consistent

@@Runegrem don't know about homa but i with db r5 when low hp do 60k per CA, if i put bennett in i am able to do 80k-90k while not worrying about dying from some random bullsh**.
I am also able to go vv hu tao with bennett , able to go upto 130k-144k per CA
I use Layla in weekly bosses on co-op with friends because while they have c2 Zhongli, you can only have one of him, so mine is built with Fav. sword equipped with half Vourukasha’s Glow and half Blizzard Strayer. I literally struggled to get her on her debut, but thankfully she came home when she was on rate up-I wish to c6 her one day. 😊
I'm glad i got both Layla and Kirara , their shielding is really nice (i know they are not zhongli level of shielding, but still) , they made playing the game much more comfortable for me as I don't have to spam dodge every sec
I have a level 90 Layla and a level 90 Zhongli, and I also have a C1 HuTao and a Wanderer, so having both shielders for both of my carries is very very nice. Thx for the video!
As a new player who got layla from the event. She has made combat and fighting bosses very comfortable.
Thank you! And 100% agree with your analysis of Layla. Once a got Wanderer, Layla became a must have to shield him and avoid interruption so he can do his worst. My Layla is at c6 now and by the time her shield expires and I switch back to Layla, after EM burst and skill, her Slugs sometimes decimate what is left over before I can get Wanderer back on the field. I do not have Zhongli btw and not sure I would ever use him with Wanderer after hearing your analysis.
i adore layla, i use her in abyss almost constantly. She is great for wanderer because he instantly gets his cry buff when her shield is up. she in and of herself is just adorable and lovey and aaaaaa layla blorbo.
No joke, as a new player this patch Layla has been a lifesaver for me and hasn't left my team since i obtained her.
She is definitely worth it! I got her on childe/miko banner. Been using her daily.
I just looked up Layla after taking a second look at her kit and this video was perfectly timed. Think Scara will be invincible now
I use her with Wanderer for freeze and for that +20% crit rate and shield, works pretty good imo : D
Thanks for making 4-star character discussion videos. They don't get enough love IMHO. If you would be interested in making a video on it, I would also love to know your opinion on whether a 4-star being on Paimon Shop rotation affects their "pull value". For example, in time I could guarantee myself C6 Fischl and C6 Beidou which is a powerful shell. Same for C6 Xiangling and C5 Bennet. However I could be stuck on a C0 Kuki forever.
All you need for kuki is c2 but I agree for cases like faruzan etc. that’s an interesting idea
I liked Layla’s design the moment she was leaked, along side the ascensions I had, artifacts and everything built.
I wasn’t a fan of Diona despite how many people sing her praises.
I just wanted Layla and I was lucky to get her C6 the moment she came out without spending a dime.
And surprisingly enough the team you showed of Wanderer, Faruzan, Layla and Bennett is the exact team I’ve been using since I got wanderer when he first released hahaha
For me, the stars basically aligned for me to build Layla. I had gotten the Key instead of PJC in 3.1, and I was at a loss over what to do with it. In comes Layla, an HP-scaling sword user. I’ve been using her ever since whenever I want to run mono-Cryo, and it was thanks to her that I was able to clear SA for the first time.
absolutely love playing layla! she doesn't get nearly enough credit. ever since she first came out i use her almost every abyss in my ganyu/rosaria/layla/kazuha mono cryo team :> she gets the job done!!
just a good solid characer who's extremely low maintenance
for aesthetic and personality alone, I would have tried to make her work but she's a really decent unit for any account that doesn't have a shielder (like me!) so I'm very happy to build her after watching this :)
Layla feels so smooth to play. I love Being able to swap in and right back out again.

Since the free Layla was the first copy I’ve been able to get of her, she’s been on my daily overworld team in a shenhe cryo/swirl comp along with kazuha and wanderer as the dps.
Her shield is great for wanderer and her damage doesn’t matter for non-abyss content.
Since I don’t have zhongli and will never have him, she’s become my go to for shield uptime.
About the hyperfridge team, I actually recommend this team w Hydro traveler if u need to use him for the new mechanics. He doesn't get a shield while holding E until C4, so he can easily get interrupted without some resistance. Probably the best way to cope w him lol

Love this video. I want Zhongli so much, but hard to risk so many Primos, because the 4 stars on this banner are kinda bad in my opinion. Plus I'm a Ganyu main on one of my teams, and I love the Cryo res.
I use Layla in my Eula team. She is using 4 pc Noblesse, I opt in using 4 pc Tenacity on Kuki since both of them can maintain the artifact sets effects. Layla has a really low burst cost and Kuki's skill procs superconduct every time and honestly I love this team 😁
i always do my weekly bosses in co-op and I love using Layla for them cuz with her c1 shield i can just keep casting her skill and sitting there doing literally nothing else the entire time just watching everyone else while Layla sleeps in her shield
Shes good for ganyu melt. Cryo resonance and pyro resonance + her C4 buffs charge attacks

Did you ever thought that Ganyu ult should have actually been on a defensive unit instead so you can actually have a reaction team with that ult while having the benefit of a shield with a DPS that belongs to that reaction? Here you go...
as an AR19 player, i used layla to get to fontaine, running all the way through the desert which has level 32 enemys, I recommend her to anyone who cant be bothered to do story quests/cant and just wants the map unlocked for in the future for if you can or when or if you just need the primos because we love primos
Layla makes my mono cryo team complete and im hoping more characters will synergie with her in the future. Shes definitely one of my fave 4 stars added in the game
Built my C1 Layla completely a month ago and she’s so good. Gonna pull for Zhongli to have more flexibility with two shielders
I have only been playing for a few months and she has easily been my account's MVP since ganyu and eula are my 2 main dps.
my layla is currently c3 and i haven't tried to fully build her at all. i already had diona so i never tried her. however, after seeing your video, i think i'll try to focus on her more. right now she's using leftover tenacity artifacts.
I have loved her on the wanderer freeze team with xingqui/yelan. The zongli and bennett comp imo can struggle with ER but the freeze comp just seems more consistent and enjoyable to play. It helps Keeps enemies together for wanderer that would normally stagger away from his charge attacks as well. Definitely a unique character though and I have no tried the double Pyro comp with Thoma since I don’t have cons on him.
She was the first character I pulled. I ran all the way to sumeru after getting to liyue so I could level her.
She helped carry me through the game. Lisa spamming skills helped make me stars for the shield, so that was cool.
Once I hit AR 45, I used her as a deepwood holder for my alhaitham.
She was the first character I got to lvl 90 and I don't regret it. She really did help carry me through the early and mid game. Nice for co-op with the C1, too.
Recently built layla for my wanderer freeze team with kazuha and kokomi and really enjoy playing it. Tried other options like thoma and bennett. But kokomi with thrilling tales can actually be better in this case. Thanks for the video
Agree with the aesthetic. She’s in my top 3 characters in the game after yae miko and nilou
nitpick: her *base hp* goes up by 12% if you level her to 90 in addition to the change to her ascension multiplier for hp%, and it lets you further improve her shield talent level. there's a lot more shield strength behind her last ascension than indicated here.
also for anyone reading, a quick a tip for infusing wanderer with cryo while using her: you should be using her skill right before his anyway, or at least shortly before, so just get close to an enemy that doesn't have a pyro aura before you use both characters' skills and he'll get the +20% crit rate from his ascension passive
Is amazing that they decided to release "The Wanderer" in the Banner in the 4.6 second phase along with, Faruzan, Beido and Layla. They are perfect complements for Wanderer. Am am actually using all my saved primos on that banner because is basically a full team right there and Wanderer is so convenient for me, bad at evading and really dont like reaction teams lol

"Sleeper pick" I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE. I'm trying to build her for Azhdaha since I have no Zhongli. I have Thoma but her skill allows so much shield uptime and her relying on HP% lets me easily build an artifact set for her.
I got her to c5 last banner. She is definitely worth building. I have her equipped with a weapon that has a chance to end her skills cd, so I can double cast. And I also have beidou on the team.
Got her C6 with this Summer event and Nahida banner. Really enjoy her!❤
she's in my navia, furina, charlotte and layla team. pretty good stand-in for zhongli (who i don't have). I was able to 36 star the abyss thanks to that team.
I believe (outside of wanderers case) that Lyla is a hybrid between diona and rosaria or something in that direction. That's kind of the problem. If I need defense I use diona, if I need g I use rosaria. If there would be a case for needing something in between then Layla would be the pick

I been sleeping on her for too long. I recently discovered just how useful she is in this last event where we needed to build 3 teams. Also a massive fan of Diona nowadays. I have had Zhongli since his first banner, pre buff. Never even considered other shielders lol.
I build her and she carried, Ayaka, Xq and Shenhe in abyss haha her shield absorption is insane
Layla's burst mixed with Ayatos burst causing at freezing rain effect which is pretty cool... I have her at C6 level 70 now and slowly building because I'm not rich 😆
layla generates so much energy that i use her as battery, even without favonius. and you forgot a thing about her shield, that you need to cast skills to produce more stars. you can easily get three rounds of stars in the entire duration of the shield. and the stars can crit, so because of that jade cutter is a perfect option for layla sub dps.
I love using her on mono cryo, w cons building her full HP and harbinger is actually not that bad in terms of dmg.
u can still put sapwood blade on layla, u just need the infusion from Candace burst or Bennett burst c6, however, u still need a dendro unit for it to work
u either running hyperfridge (nahida, kuki, layla, Candace) or melt (nahida, Bennett, layla, ganyu)

Am I the only one who still plays Morgana from time to time? Because she is really good in this team giving cryo resonance.
She was very useful to me when I started playing. Now I don't use her much because i want to maintain my dodging skills.
Having a 61 crit rate Wanderer made me raise her. She’s pretty great and allows you to play a freeze team with Yelan/Xingqiu.
Minor error but the icon you used for Harbinger of Dawn is Cool Steel.
Edit: Found another error: leveling a weapon to 90 increases more than just the basestats. Harbinger of Dawn's max crit dmg substat is 46.8% so you're missing out on 4% by not leveling it up.
Have built her and fully agree even with Freeze. I think she a better fit than Diona. Freeze doesn't really need the extra energy because your running minimum two cryo it. I'm happy you mentioned Wanderer I think she might be the best shielder for him. I've ran her in amono cryo Ganyu team and she's very affective. Ganyu really likes the shield and Layla adds a non negligible ammount of damage
You should give some gameplay too like what the skill and burst look like. This will keep us entertained

i dont have any 5 star characters as of ar 45 and getting layla did help me more than having babara on the team.
She's in my Ayaka team using Noblesse with as much HP as possible and Cryo damage goblet. Probably gonna change her to HP goblet soon. Her 40 energy burst gives Noblesse a good uptime. Restores a lot of energy for Ayaka as well. I have Kokomi as well, so my Tenacity set went to her.
I am quite annoyed that I finally built Diona just before getting Layla, because for my play style Layla seems to fit much better. Admittedly it will be a long way to get her constellations, a growing problem with all 4 stars as the game adds more characters over time
Praise the archons that Layla was given for free this event. My Wanderer would be lost without her, I recently play again with an alt acc and got an early 5 star Wanderer, she's a life saver for him😂. Fun fact, I use Skyrider sword on her, the 3 star with ER and atk and movement speed buff because I don't have fav or sac sword, and I do need her burst up quickly to swirl cryo more efficiently
In my opinion Layla has a niche since she's better depending on the teams that actually need Cryo application and a shield.
I love Layla, I have her built even though I have Zhongli and Baizhu, plus 7 or 8 other sustainers built too, maybe I like shields and heals
Her shield is usually enough in most cases. I use Fav sword and all HP stats (tenacity) on her. Minimal dodging is needed. I love her. I'm not pulling for Zhongli because of her.
I have not built her yet because i keep procrastinating. But her kit looks cool and might be useful in the meta where it seems like HP loss will be common. Maybe in 4.1...
I started in 3.1 , and there was no Zhongli banner options!! Of course the Archon better.
When Layla appeared, I grabbed her fast and she's a Boss ! Strong shield, 100% uptime if you attend to it, and nice random dash of cryo application. Makes Nahida Hyperbloom into a Fridge with safety.
you would use Zhongli w/Ganyu in a melt comp, but in Ganyu freeze aka Morgana, Diona is a legit option for defensive utility and energy
so layla was totally key to clearing some of the harder abyss 12 floors in past abyss rotations. i even swapped out one of either xingqiu or yelan out, and the hyperbloom performance was about the same. i'd be interested to see numbers on it cause any character that can get one of those two super hydro appliers off of the same team but still produce the same results/damage is godly.
i did notice in my experimenting that raiden doesn't work as well out side of double hydro in a hyperbloom team with layla, where as kuki or fischl preforms about the same with layla. could be because of the extra electro stealing freeze and bloom reactions with superconduct and aggravate, but idk.
I got when I began playing (about 3/4 months ago). She was may fave back them. Then I discovered hyperbloom with Baizhu and Kuki plus Xingqiu and I forgot her. Nowadays she is back with Kazuha, Xingqiu and Xiangli.
She reminds me of a more accessible Zhongli. At C1 she is huge. She makes Azhdaha fights tolerable
As a Scaramouche main, I'll tell you one thing, I like sending my targets on the air, and Layla shield stars are perfect for that.
i got her c6 on yae miko's banner and i been using her in my wanderer team. she is so comfy. i have about 42K hp on her and i'm so happy to get the key at 1 roll after getting mistsplitter. also cryro buff for wanderer with her is kind of hard to get imo
I tried to get the Key on both banners and I lost both times at high pity ;-;
She is on my alt adventurers teams and daily stuff, with favonius she actually gets decent burst uptime, I can see why she doesnt deal much damage, she would be op XD.
I use Layla in my Freeze team with Ayato, Kazuha, and either Rosaria or Mika, especially against those annoying riftwolves

Honestly, I like Layla's design more and really want to build her. But I already built Diona when I didn’t get any Laylas by gacha. I'm short on resources so I'll probably be sticking to Diona for a while.

I'm already making two teams with her: Yoimiya / Yelan / Bennett and Wanderer / Faruzan / Bennett, she is really perfect for both and I highly recommend to try her out in those teams for anyone :)
I built her simply because her animations are great and she's the Cryo cousin of Kirara of Fridge teams. Honesty, the goal of Genshin Impact when you start to get more and more character built is to diversify your teams.
Unfortunately, not a lot of content creators promote finding synergies with underdog characters.
KQM also recommends Blizzard Strayer for sub-dps builds. Personally, I'm building her this way since my Diona is already build and provides the same utility, so I need a big DPS increase over her to justify switching
I’m having A LOT of success with Layla(Fav), Xinghou(Sac), Wanderer(Prayer), Rosaria(DeathM).
30% bonus crit for whole team, 50% for wanderer. More than enough shields/heals. Constant cryo/hydro uptime. And Ults can all be used freely in the overworld and gained back off of 1-2 enemies in a fight. Super comfy, super reliable.
All cooldowns align spectacularly. The only thing the team struggles against is Cryo shields.
There is no content where it feels lacking. Feels excellent in the Overworld in particular, Domains, Abyss, and Events. I think Layla is slept on, no pun intended.
Fun Tip, ‘Burning’ deals dmg through shields, even Pyro shields.

As a player who somehow can never get Zhongli for all banner reruns (on my Asian server) , she's quite a good pick. :') I have her c1 on all servers. So she's good for co-op. 35k lowest for her shield to be tanky enough. I really am happy they've released a 4 star that's more accessible than a 5 star (save up if you haven't gotten the little lass, unless you got Zhongli)~
Art sets, I use TofM and .... I forgot that other hp set name rn... Oh god. Double 20% hp sets. Either Harbinger of Dawn or travellers handy sword would be my weapon of choice. :] I crowned her Skill. (I never crowned anyone because I been too broke for it. XD) I love, love, love Layla. She been a life saver in many situations. Highly recommend her to anyone who doesn't have Zhongli. :>
I built her awhile ago, she’s awesome buffer with Mililith and key and very tanky
I”ll build Layla if I get her C4 (C1 so far): I use normal attacks a lot, so the damage boost will be fun to play with.
For hiding behind a shield, I’m pulling Zhongli next banner to keep Ningguang from getting squished, so Layla will be behind Zhongli in the queue unless my wishing goes crazy and I somehow get three Laylas.
I've been liking using Layla as she shields me from damage and gives me freeze.
