I just rewatched The Last Emperor and it is such a masterpiece. I also just saw Before The Revolution for the first time and was completely swept away with it. I have seen Last Tango In Paris and loved that i need to see more of his films

As a musician and writer, I am always looking for inspiration and this series of "most beautiful shots" is really paying off dividends. And knowing most of these films, I already know the context. Images and music are visceral, magical and bring out the muse like a genie from a bottle. Merci!
Bernardo Betrolucci is a Master Story Teller. He is the one and the only director who tells a story with his camera which still stands tall among all other directors of course David Lean is there but his are big but BB is a class apart. THE CONFORMIST OMG I was literally blown away the way he used the sets, costumes and the angle the colour it's a visual masterpiece. Vittorio Storaro must be included in this.

@@gitlir207 когда я узнала про то, что их снимал один человек, мне порвало шаблон))) Масштаб Последнего Императора это просто немыслимо было, жизнь, власть, Китай, наконец. И это итальянец снял? Взрыв мозга. А боль, печаль, желание в Последнем танго, например - совсем полярная тема. Какой же Бертолуччи смельчак в своем гении, и актёры у него в работах погружаются на 100%

У меня Император в 15, мама показала, я бы наверное не посмела смотреть, а потом уже в 28, Мечтатели, Танго, Красота, залпом смотрела, фильмы двоякие, как раз по возрасту, раньше бы не поняла наверное вот эти ощущения разочарования, боли и какой-то ностальгии Бертолуччи по юности, невинности, порывистости, что ли ))

I suggest to watch always the classical movie of the great director , normally better than the modern one . Bertolucci was chosen to direct some big commercial movie by hollywwod they do not rappresent fully and autentically all his anticonformist poetry . 😉
These are not the “best shots” of his films, it’s just a grouping of “shots” from his films. It doesn’t even have the most beautiful shots from The last Emperor and Last Tango In Paris.
