Wonderful to see a real old milling operation... in use! We can build new ones if we want to... small, local, organic, fresh....

As a resident of Sturminster Newton it's great to see our mill and Oxfords bakery getting such great coverage in the US.

So wonderful to see an old watermill in action. Best bread ever packed with natural nutrients.

My Grandad's farm in Devon had an old mill. When we were little, before he remodeled it, he let us help him grind flour and we baked bread with our Nan. It was fun but it's so hard to get planning permission for buildings. If you build on top of the foundations of a pre-existing building the countryside, it's much easier to get permission to build on protected lands.

The powers that be should return the old mill to commercial use a few days a week and have tours on the weekends. It is a way to utilize what is already in place and I am sure people would pay a bit more than supermarket flour for fresh stone ground flour especially the Oxford Bakery.

They should stick with it while they already have customers and people interested in the mill. Maybe not full time but enough to supply local bakers year round. Unless they have deep pocket backers, any foundation like that could also use the income.

Karl Marx in 1844 wrote about how those that were able to see the fruits of their labors were the happiest workers. This story is a good reminder of that.

@krelfurnace _"Karl Marx also wrote that all peasants should be 'liquidated' and then replaced with 'involuntary work brigades' from the cities"_
That is a bold-face lie and I ask that you offer any proof for your spurious and defamatory claim. While Marx's wife Jenny von Westphalen came from money they lived most of their lives in abject poverty. It was only when her mother died did they get enough to live in what we'd see as the "middle class." Everything you said were lies and your words have not been backed up by any proof whatsoever. Your comments are nothing more than that of a ignorant, neoliberal, fascist troll. Again, show us quotes in Marx's own words to your obvious false claims.
