Hello I am French, this is problem of the macron system , he absorbed talents from left and right in his center party so , PS and les republicains have shrinken and now it is macron or Far left or far right, and today French are tired with Macron...
Can you also talk about the situation in Romania. Thats because even now we still have to count the votes. You see a lot of people saw that a number of votes simply dissapeareing during counting and so the opposition is trying to get them back and include them in the counting
Idk as a moderate it’s very frustrating to see the radical left and right rise like this, but the center leaning parties have to do a better job dealing with the people’s problems, meaning less ideological policies and more effective policy.
Macron have done a very liberal politic. He have denied migrant were an issue. Then a lot of atrocity crimes were committed by illegal migrant. An little girl raped and cut in piece by a migrant girl . An great mother beat to death and raped also. Many others.he also says that the extreme right is irresponsible while macron has made as much debt in 7 years as there was in 40 years before... He then asks people to work longer. he reduces aid for the unemployed but in the same week he gives bonuses to civil servants for the Olympic games. (civil servants also negotiated not to have to work longer)
La Jeune Garde is a violent Antifa mob group, which somehow managed to get included in the Popular Front alliance, as if it was some minor political party. And its leader, who is a Hamas apologist and literally surveilled by police as a potential terror threat, was nominated to be the official Popular Front candidate in a winnable district. Bit crazy. I remind you that this alliance goes up to the very moderate center left including former President Hollande.
Anything happens yup: Ciotti being confirmed as president of LR and the New Popular Front started infighting again, despite publishing their program, because 5 key France Unbowed MPs were kicked out of their seats' campaign... Crikey!
@@bothi00 Yeah agreed. For Ruffin remains to be Seen. He seems to be the most consensual figure. However it remains to be Seen whether or not Mélenchon will just allow him to take his spot as the most important place for candidate for a United left in 2024. And whether hardcore Mélenchon voters will accept it.
So many questions, maybe somebody here can answer them: 1. Isn't there a minimum electoral campaign length? Three weeks between calling the elections and the first round seems like a short time for alliances to be made, campaigns to be organized, leaflets to be printed and so on. 2. I know the French President can dissolve the Nation Assembly, but it is the Government that organizes the elections. So why was Macon allowed to set the dates of the elections? 3. In some countries with a presidential system, the President cannot be involved in political debate while in office. By default, he resigns his statute as a party member. Why isn't this the case in France? Does it go back to the establishment of the Fifth Republic and de Gaulle's demands? Thanks
the two votes for the assembly must be between 20 and 40 days after the dissolution is announced (09/06) so the choice of when is limited by that time frame For the third question he can participate in the sense of ''defending '' the party program but cannot organise a debate between himself and the opposition Macron can say '' hey you shloud really vote for the guy in your city who represent Renaissance'' bc it helps him, if he loose the elections he will have to choose a prime minister from the winning party even if it's not his wich we call ''cohabitation'' (it happenned twice in 65 years) Tldr: there's two options 1- Macron party wins the elections and reinforce their power to vote laws etc 2- far right or left coalition wins and Macron has to appoint a PM from said winner party (cohabitation)
If I had a nickel for everytime a French leader locked up a room so people couldn't vote against him I'd have two nickels. Which is not a lot, but it's weird ot happened twice.
These videos are great, but it is so confusing using translated English names for the parties. It would be much better to say Front Populaire, Ensemble, La France Insoumise, Rassemblement National and so on -- give the translation side by side if necessary. I want to be able to keep up in conversation with other Europeans and that requires knowing the real names of parties.
Bardella ll win . Far Left is a joke. They dont have a chief and they would send France under supervision as the financiers leave. They said: “we are going to play Robin Hood on the rich.” they are crazy and also support hamas
I think Macron is right to call an election even though the outcome could be disastrous for his party, France, the EU and even the western alliance. The populist right cannot be wished away. I am English and hate Brexit but we had to have it to lance the boil. People who vote for populism have to experience what it does in power.
@@NitwitsWorld No- it’s about exposing people to their ignorance. For the populist politicians used to casual sloganising, imagining its easy to govern and the electorate who also think there must be easy solutions. In Britain we have had an essentially populist government for 14 years and it is about to be annihilated. There is a minority who cling to their fantasies but the vast majority are tired of the lies. The French have to get it out of their system too.
France unbowed is considered as a left party in France and not a "far left" one. In France it's the "conseil d'État" that classifies the parties into different ideologies.
@@s1me007There are more than one. The communist party is supposedly at their left, even though I admit their program these last years has softened. There is also Lutte Ouvrière, that has the same Marxist revolutionary tendencies than NPA. the chaos in France is hilarious to watch. hearing of someone locking themselves in the party HQ is so crazy 😂😂 all this just before the Paris Olympics is pure cinema
As a frenchman, I can guarantee you we find the situation hilarious too. To add another funny event to the list, did you know that Paris' current mayor, Anne Hildago, has promised to swim in the Seine before the Olympic Games? It was planned for June 23rd, but was cancelled due to "strong currents". We're still waiting for it to laugh about the health consequences in the following days.
Socialist party ruled France serveral times. They’re the historical left opposed to the historical right « republicans ». So yes nothing wrong in what is said
i would advise to not use "far-left" to describe "La France Insoumise", as ithere was actually a legal battle in france to recognize the movement as a "radical left", not "far left". for people looking the the difference in france, "far-left" movements usually are revolutionary in nature, looking to overthrow the capitalistic/republican system to replace it with a communist/anarcho-syndicalist state, nowadays by vote, strikes and pacifists actions. the "radical left" tradition is in what we call "democratic socialism" that usually looks at keeping and reinforcing representative democracy while transforming the capitalistic economy into some degree of a socialist one (usually, and it's the case for LFI, its applying Keynesian economics, by keeping a private market and property but making it very regulated by the state, and increase wealth redistribution to decrease inequalities and increase production). calling LFI "far-left" would imply that someone as Franklin D. Roosevelt would be a far-left American president.
Well summed up but I think the video is missing the point that French's national assembly elections are a series of small elections to elect one single member of parliament for each district and that the alliance are thus very very necessary to make sure to get to the second round. And this fact highlights the weak position of Macron who could end up missing on many (most) second rounds if the trends continue
The French election has completely eclipsed the UK election internationally. The UK is like a little local election somewhere down the country, whereas the French is like a critical bi-election which can shift the balance of government power (in this case the EU Council and Commission). The French election will effect 100's of millions of EU citizens outside of France, whereas the UK election will effect zilch outside the UK. This is perhaps a very clear example of how brexit has diminished the UK's relevance. It has got very little to do with knowing the outcome, the implications are far more long term than simply what happens in the next month.
If Starmer and the Labour party do manage to make the UK rejoin the Single Market, and just generally improve foreign trade relations then this general election could provide quite decent implications for the long term (like you've said). But the main focus in the UK at the moment really is how battered will the Conservatives be and who will be the opposition party to Labour, which is unimportant to the rest of the world.
@Dead_Metal there is no way for a third country to join the Single Market. Even if there was, the EU are just about to launch a major revamp of the SM which may include adding a 5th freedom and an SM-wide legal system to upgrade it for the 21st century. Now would not be the time to add non-EU members to it. Who the UK opposition is, is irrelevant to the rest of the world, don't kid yourself. Could you even name the Japanese opposition, or the German opposition without looking them up?

this is problem of the macron system , he absorbed talents from left and right in his center party so , PS and les republicains have shrinken and now it is macron or Far left or far right, and today French are tired with Macron...
Mélenchon is not far left though Poutou who is running in one of the circonscription IS.
But he's thé only one in the left leaning alliance.
French politics are a pure circus right now.
This is the kind of choas you will see in tv on a drama series or telenovela.
You make quite a complicated topic very understandable! Keep up the great quality of work and your unbiased reporting
Man, I love French politics
The Popular Front, the National Rally, and a disjointed government in between.
HOI4 is that you?💀
You did not mention that the court sided with Ciotti
What software do you use? Your video thumbnails also look well edited and amazing😅❤
Thanks for the news! As a portuguese person, it is really important to know what happens in France. Hoping for a Popular Front majority ✊🇫🇷🇵🇹
The situation is pretty fun but also worrying, I learn that the chief of "France Insoumise" call "La Garde Jeune" the action group of party.
Can you provide a source ? I haven't heard that.
Nothing new, French chaos.
You know, initially I couldn't understand why Marcon would make such a move after losing so blatantly... now I get it.
This whole week was hilarious.
Anything happens yup: Ciotti being confirmed as president of LR and the New Popular Front started infighting again, despite publishing their program, because 5 key France Unbowed MPs were kicked out of their seats' campaign... Crikey!
And also, known wifebeater Adrien Quatennens was still chosen to run in his constituency, despite how controversial he obviously is.
And they made hollande a candidate, and Adrien quattenens, who was convicted for domestic abuse
This just in Quatennens agreed not to run in his circonscription (electoral region where he was elected) so that's good.@@bothi00
@@french907 delighted to hear. Shameful he was even let back into the party.
Ruffin must be PM
@@bothi00 Yeah agreed.
For Ruffin remains to be Seen.
He seems to be the most consensual figure.
However it remains to be Seen whether or not Mélenchon will just allow him to take his spot as the most important place for candidate for a United left in 2024.
And whether hardcore Mélenchon voters will accept it.
In 20 years there will definitely be a Netflix show made depicting these events
I have a suspicion that a Bonaparte will try and took advantage of this situation
Emmanuel Macron thinks he's playing 4D chess when in reality he's playing checkers.
So many questions, maybe somebody here can answer them:
Thanks
the two votes for the assembly must be between 20 and 40 days after the dissolution is announced (09/06) so the choice of when is limited by that time frame
For the third question he can participate in the sense of ''defending '' the party program but cannot organise a debate between himself and the opposition
Macron can say '' hey you shloud really vote for the guy in your city who represent Renaissance'' bc it helps him, if he loose the elections he will have to choose a prime minister from the winning party even if it's not his wich we call ''cohabitation'' (it happenned twice in 65 years)
Tldr: there's two options
1- Macron party wins the elections and reinforce their power to vote laws etc
2- far right or left coalition wins and Macron has to appoint a PM from said winner party (cohabitation)
"Our leaders won't allow us to assemble in this building, and locked the doors? Lets just go next door then!"
Classic France.
Stop trying to go against the change made by people.
If I had a nickel for everytime a French leader locked up a room so people couldn't vote against him I'd have two nickels. Which is not a lot, but it's weird ot happened twice.

I think were going to see movements similar to that of that of 1848 revolutions across europe
That word require they attempt to speak the french names, and french is very easily butchered by English speakers.
It’s far easier using the English names and most of Europe doesn’t speak French
yes I highly agree. some translations can be misleading.
Honestly just waiting for napoleon at this point
Bardella ll win . Far Left is a joke. They dont have a chief and they would send France under supervision as the financiers leave.
They said: “we are going to play Robin Hood on the rich.” they are crazy and also support hamas
These events deserve a movie seriously, this is just House of cards level of messy
I think Macron is right to call an election even though the outcome could be disastrous for his party, France, the EU and even the western alliance. The populist right cannot be wished away. I am English and hate Brexit but we had to have it to lance the boil. People who vote for populism have to experience what it does in power.
It's about big money I guess 😅
@@NitwitsWorld No- it’s about exposing people to their ignorance. For the populist politicians used to casual sloganising, imagining its easy to govern and the electorate who also think there must be easy solutions. In Britain we have had an essentially populist government for 14 years and it is about to be annihilated. There is a minority who cling to their fantasies but the vast majority are tired of the lies. The French have to get it out of their system too.
@@jontalbot1 It is probably too late fam
What in the Looney Toones was that lock in? 😂
How come you never reported on the Chat Control law?
France unbowed is considered as a left party in France and not a "far left" one. In France it's the "conseil d'État" that classifies the parties into different ideologies.
it's considered "radical left" and not just "left"
it is considered left to far-left.
There’s only one party that’s slightly more left than LFI (NPA) and it’s insignificant
@@s1me007There are more than one. The communist party is supposedly at their left, even though I admit their program these last years has softened. There is also Lutte Ouvrière, that has the same Marxist revolutionary tendencies than NPA.
In the end, I feel that LFI is a mixed bag of political leanings, from the left to the far left, but mostly radical left.
They are communists so it doesn’t matter but I agree
Why did macron suddenly ask for election? He could have just stayed comfortably
the chaos in France is hilarious to watch. hearing of someone locking themselves in the party HQ is so crazy 😂😂
all this just before the Paris Olympics is pure cinema
As a frenchman, I can guarantee you we find the situation hilarious too.
To add another funny event to the list, did you know that Paris' current mayor, Anne Hildago, has promised to swim in the Seine before the Olympic Games? It was planned for June 23rd, but was cancelled due to "strong currents". We're still waiting for it to laugh about the health consequences in the following days.
Macron is either doing a Littlefinger (Chaos is a ladder, all this stuff) or a Rushi Sunak
2:26 😂😂
Why can't they vote on whether they want him as leader😂
they don't have the time, election season is too short.
@@Dendarang more like they're scared the republican base wants them to ally with Lepen and not Macron
most stable French election:
Honestly, no idea how it can be legal to call for a snap election in so little time.
Pun intended, I feel like Macron's rule and influence is gonna snap. But he can't even run in 2027.
It's actually the law, the new election mustctake place within 40 days of the dissolution.
It's called the French Constitution !
It’s actually designed to be this way, to avoid campaigning and time for parties to manipulate the public
@@zaydalaoui9397 well it could be that he's playing 1D chess or 4D chess.
The socialist party is center left but LePen is far right...
Yes.
The socialist party is just a social democrat party nowadays
@@spacemarine3482 actually, it's a néolibéral party, and the communist party is a social democratic party
Socialist party ruled France serveral times. They’re the historical left opposed to the historical right « republicans ». So yes nothing wrong in what is said
HBO should make a series out of this mess
i would advise to not use "far-left" to describe "La France Insoumise", as ithere was actually a legal battle in france to recognize the movement as a "radical left", not "far left".
for people looking the the difference in france, "far-left" movements usually are revolutionary in nature, looking to overthrow the capitalistic/republican system to replace it with a communist/anarcho-syndicalist state, nowadays by vote, strikes and pacifists actions.
the "radical left" tradition is in what we call "democratic socialism" that usually looks at keeping and reinforcing representative democracy while transforming the capitalistic economy into some degree of a socialist one (usually, and it's the case for LFI, its applying Keynesian economics, by keeping a private market and property but making it very regulated by the state, and increase wealth redistribution to decrease inequalities and increase production).
calling LFI "far-left" would imply that someone as Franklin D.
The previous video on this topic does explain it but this comment is addressed to people who didn't see it or missed the point ;)
This channel is so far left anything conservative is far-right. They consider center right as right wing.
They don’t chose the categories, these denomination are given by the « conseil d’état » in France
Twas the year of Political Hold My Beer
This is so confusing!
Since Cioti has been ruled leader of the Republicans, a National Rally government can happen through coalition with the Republicans
with Macron as president and head of state.

This looks like French version of Brexit.
The UK elections will impact the lives of Nigeria, Pakistan and Albania
@@Dead_MetalStarmer repeatedly and consistently rules out rejoining the single market or the customs union
