A couple days ago I was watching a Harvard professor explaining this whole concept of happiness and what he talked is actually what The Quran or must I say Allah has been talking about and everybody in the comment section was like, "this is mind blowing, such an eye-opener, my perspectives have been shifted etc etc" so to sum it up: its finding a purpose in life whatever that may and have goals in our minds like the joy of accomplishing those goals is unlike any and ofcourse us muslims know our purpose (we are sent here to worship Allah), second : be more grateful, and this was his own words that the way to practise gratitude is not just say, I'm thankful and forget about it but rather take time and think about what are the things I'm truly grateful for and make a list of them. Your happiness levels goes up in a wheel by a significant percentage. Also one more thing: all most all of us want more and more and when we dont get what we want we feel depressed that's cz we expect more. we dont realize what we have and are fixated with what we don't have and pursuse it. If we get that thing our happiness doesn't last long and now we want something else. I was like, "yup. I dont need to go to Harvard and learn all of it. It's what Allah has been saying all throught the Quran". Also fun fact that word "tamani" (pronounced as 'Tammana') in my language means desires, or wishes something along those lines as for the secondary meaning they dont exist so yeah it was cool learning about it.
On gratitude: My therapist once gave me homework of making a gratitude jar. Basically, write 3 things you're happy about on a chit, put in a jar and leave them be. Then on sad days, one opens the jar and finds all those things he was grateful for. And somehow it worked. After a while I realised that the state of sadness simply was the inability to be grateful, or more appropriately, the state where one doesn't look at the blessings he'd be grateful for on a normal day(i hope I'm making sense)
That’s a cool idea, and imagine if someone writes it like “Oh Allah AWJ I am thankful for ______” or “Ya Allah Alhamdulilah for blessing me with health” And then you open it and it gives you the imaan boost to do shukr as well. I think this is why Morning and Evening adhkar are such a great “gratitude” inspiring practice and experience. And even so much as saying Istaghfaar, with consciousness because it reminds of all the things that we do wrong yet Allah AWJ never stops or withholds His rehma 🥹🥲 Alhamdulilah. And it focuses our minds back on bettering ourselves instead of focusing on what others have and we don’t have YET. (Big on yet because tbh we never know we might be getting Ajr for the Sabr & patience and we might be getting a faaar better blessing than what others have, getting something early doesn’t mean better yk ☺️). Oh and I feel like (for myself especially at times) after Salah adhkar are such a forgotten Sunnah. Like they make you internalize so much, like the gratitude that Allah AWJ allowed us to pray Salah, that Allah AWJ made our bodies able to do Qiyam, Ruku, Sujood, that we have health and the imaan and the guidance to do Salah. Ooofff your comment has inspired me so well… there is genuinely so much to be thankful for, we just have to look in the right place, like it’s like trying to find icecream in a cupboard, trying to find happiness through something temporary like scrolling SM is just like that, cuz you won’t find it and then get sad that you couldn’t find happiness in there, like look in the freezer for icecream yo, just like you will have to be specific as to opening freezer and not fridge cuz that’s where the icecream is, we will have to learn what places to avoid that drain our energy unnecessarily (in hopes to find something) like imagine looking for icecream in kitchen cabinets, or trying to look for happiness by listening to music or watching movies/ silly tv shows, its not going to bring us happiness, but helping others, doing something productive, learning something like maybe memorizing a portion of the Quran, learning the tafseer, bettering our Qiraat, learning/ reading Hadiths, charity, helping someone else learn the thing we just learnt, these will not just help us feel better and happier but also bring us Hasanat, like that’s double the benefit, and it will correct us and in’sha’Allah increase our imaan and the people around us as well. Like there is so much to do and yet we waste (by we I mean me, myself specifically) time on the silliest things and sulking about stuff, it ain’t worth the effort. Better off asking Allah AWJ for a better future and making Sunnah duas and learning sunnah duas to make during Salah than to be a saddie catty ☺️🤭 Have an awesome and blessed day, sorry for the lonnnggg reply if you read this far, here’s a star ⭐️ for you ☺️, and may Allah AWJ bless you and your loved ones with hidayah, and best in this world and the hereafter and give you an awesome place in Jannatulfirdous☺️🫶🏻

Interesting thing about Manaat (the third idol) and Tamani (wishful thinking), is that they seem to be from the same word as Mana in english. Think the blue mp bar under your health that makes you able to cast magic, fire balls and what not, from thin air in video games. The concept is literally creating what you wish from nothing, only paying mana to do so. Btw, these videos, I'm really grateful for them, so genuinely thank you for consistently bringing such light year after year.

Ustaz, what's wrong with using breathing techniques and self love if it gives you positivity ? we don't say happiness , we say positivity. being positive is also essential part of Islam , right?
apart from quite a few things that i found disturbing in this session for eg openly mocking suicide rates n the concept of accepting urself as and who Allah has made you which is where “self love” a very beautiful and important thing comes from..the one thing that im GENUINELY curious abt and wld like for someone to clear or help me out is how sheikh said that ppl these days not knowing what their doing ahead in life are insane..didnt the ayah he mentioned talk abt the knowledge of our beginning and end as in Akhirah? What has one not having a job or degree or being lost abt what ones going to do for the next month ANY way related to our Akhirah?? one can be lost without a worldly purpose but as long as they live their everyday lives consciously knowing n remembering the Akhirah n making conscious decisions..shldnt THAT be the “goal” the “purpose” ??
NAK sometimes takes liberties in how he describes things, because otherwise it gets cumbersome to express the idea. He isn't saying people are bad for being unsure or lost, he's saying that wishful thinking leads to more of it and more self imposed loss and that's why you see a bigger trend today. People who're insane, in this context or any context, aren't necassarily at fault either, like people who have OCD, but if they themselves bring about that unfortunate situation, which happens when you only focus on wishful thinking, then they need to shift their focus. The thing is, focusing on wishes entirely loses you the perspective on both the end goal and where it all started, and that leads to not seeing your place, your reason or even your worth in life clearly anymore. I hope this makes some sense.
@@Yous0147 thanks a lot for the reply its just that there were quite a few times where he generalized things making it seem like they were bad but my question is (n i genuinely dk the answer to it) is it rlly important n MUST to have a worldly goal or purpose in ur life alongside ur goal for akhirah?? Isnt the goal for akhirah what matters ?

This technic is taught to traumatized people who are suffering from flash backs. Or people with depression who's mind are stuck in the past because of some tragic event. Or people who have anxiety out of fear of a trauma happening again in the future. They cannot function like normal people in society. Their minds spin out of control. Who wishes too desperately becomes maniac. Interesting if the Greek word mania has similar root.

Salaam alaikum I love you for the sake of Allah you know that the Angels say Ameen to everything we say so please do not say you can go do drugs God forbid or you can go drink alcohol God forbid you should say things like you should not do these things may God guide everybody for example some of what has influenced Nations before negatively such as indulging in intoxicants and in the prohibited items therefore and then you continue speaking please refrain from that type of speech ...for the sake of Allah and always know you are amazing!! I’m in tamanni now😭
What's wrong with to live in the moment and say Alhamdulillah and not worry about the future but trusting God?
Nothing wrong with trusting God but have some sort of plan and put effort in. Alhamdullilah if it goes to plan and Alhamdullilah if it doesn’t.

12:54 Ustad is talking about me😭. No motivation after watching dozens of videos🫠
Is this the last episode?
Ustaz, what's wrong with using breathing techniques and self love if it gives you positivity ? we don't say happiness , we say positivity. being positive is also essential part of Islam , right?
I wish i can pray on alqsa mosqe ...is this" tmanni"?

apart from quite a few things that i found disturbing in this session for eg openly mocking suicide rates n the concept of accepting urself as and who Allah has made you which is where “self love” a very beautiful and important thing comes from..the one thing that im GENUINELY curious abt and wld like for someone to clear or help me out is how sheikh said that ppl these days not knowing what their doing ahead in life are insane..didnt the ayah he mentioned talk abt the knowledge of our beginning and end as in Akhirah?
Do you know that in Catholicism, they gain so much profit, millions of dollars in earnings from their different saints? Multiple choice religions make much profit, yet they have yet to house the homeless? I wonder why?🥖🍞
