Good tips. These JD stamped mower decks are horrible. Even worse is the 7 iron stamped under belly decks for sub and compact tractors. The L LA D and E series decks are included in this. The only way I've been able to keep fixed decks or clean decks from bending is to weld lateral bars spanning the deck to add a lot of rigidity in the x and y directions. You realize after dealing with a few of these why expensive machines have fully fabricated decks. I've delt with so many of these decks from 38" to 54" that I have a custom press table using a HF 20 ton shop press and some jigs to make the decks flat and square again. The only thing better for me would be to have the factory negative mold these were stamped out on to reform against. It is tough though to pass up an otherwise decent mower when people get the sticker shock at a dealer for a new deck and decide to sell the whole machine cheap. I just picked up a rust free 70 hour la175 for $300 because of a lightly bent deck.
When you buy a JD you think wow this is way better, but only in comparison to the kind of really cheap crap most of us start off with. lol If you graduate to more expensive machines you find that the deck is where the money is going because that is what counts. Good diagnosis and deck surgery Doctor. : )
Finding it funny that every single video I've found is the same yellow 2 blade JD deck lol. I ran my fabricated husqvarna deck into a stump... Don't think it's going to be this easy :/

Or you could save yourself a lot of banging and put some washers between the deck and spindle on the sides you need to raise.
This video helped me out a lot. Thank you very much
