Your reasoning for having an affinity for gold is exactly the same as mine. Im black, my ancestors wore it before it was stolen from them. It sits on my skin well and looks good. Please be careful with costume jewelry. Costume jewelry contains titanium dioxide in the plating which is known to cause cancer, birth defects and reproductive harm. All costume jewelry uses titanium dioxide (which is titanium white ) as the base color before coating it with the plating, this insures that the plating color is bright. Costume jewelry also contains cadmium in the alloy metal which is also known to cause cancer. Please research prop 65. The titanium dioxide and cadmium in costume jewelry strips over time and is absorbed into your skin, the heavy metals sit quietly and collects until it shows up as cancer. Most Americans are diagnosed with some kind of cancer by the time they are around their 50s. Prevention is key and it is better to be safe than sorry.
