- After years of our mattress and box spring sitting on the floor, it's time I get to work and build us a bed. I'm using a big Sycamore live edge slab for the headboard and Cherry for the base of the bed. Enjoy the video and please leave a comment!

@@tableshaper4076 He has changed his life overall, don't think it is only stress related but more with the fact that he can no longer really identify with being a RUclipsr. Which is perfectly understandable, it's a natural process.

Jesse, you are making things for the ages.. Man I think back to years ago watching you make the stone wash basin, doing the workshop, namely putting up the beam in the center, doing the yard, making the terrace deck, siding the house, over the years you never disappoint and I can hardly imagine what the house is eventually going to look like, the bespoke nature of everything YOU made to fit in every nook and cranny, don't be appolagising for not posting for a while you got the life brother the real ones will be here watching you along the way getting inspired from what you do. You are making memories with your beautiful family living the dream brother, and we're thankful that we get to come along this epic journey with you in some way. ❤

Project idea - a sitting bench for a front porch or the swim deck on the remote property.

Now let me get this straight - Its a 'flat-pack' Bed by The Samurai, but its also a one-off and unique. Its beautiful anyway! And so are you Jesse, from 8" x 8" timber construction to delicate Kumiko lamps etc. I'm jealous of your mortice machine and yet I'll never need one! (but then, YOU ARE a mortice machine...so...can I have yours haha?)

I was thinking that maybe a bolt through the tenons would hold the corners together instead of using a corner bracket, but that would have to enter from the bottom or have some esthetically pleasing way to cover them if entered from on top. However that might not prevent racking, but since this frame sits directly on the floor maybe that’s not an issue.
Dining table pls - struggling myself with oval vs round versus “softened” rectangle - I know you will lead the way!

What's happen up at the land these days? Got anything going on over there? The bed looks super sturdy. The left and right edges could use something, I don't know what, them being straight looks sort of out of place to me. French cleats, great idea. :)

When I talk people complain that I’m talking and when I don’t they complain that I’m not talking. When I put music in the background people complain about my choice of music and when I leave the music out they complain about the silence. Do you see the problem here?…it’s complainers.

With mortice and tenon joints is it not easier to round off the tenons rather than square out the mortices? I'm about to build two small double sized beds and I really love the idea of live edge headboards. 🏴👍
Personally have found it to be about the same amount of work either way, if you have sharp chisels. But, if you're doing through-tenons it is going to look better if they are square in my opinion.
