I half-agree. I think it takes a healthy mind to balance wanting something better and coping with what you have. If you don't aim for something better, things will never get better. If you don't cope, you'll never be happy with what you have. Also, I couldn't stop thinking about Oh, The Places You'll Go during this video.
@@virtutisoccasioest I agree, that's what a healthy mind would do. I feel my mind vacilates a bit. I have lots of fears and I think settling for mediocrity is one so I tend to shake things up a bit. I feel this is exacerbated in sobriety, when I sedate myself it's less noticeable, still there just more subtle. I used to love Dr. Seuss as a kid ☺️
@@IlluminateYourPower I think you have a healthy mind. I don't really know you, of course. It takes a layer of judgement to know when you are actually settling for mediocrity and when you just "can't see the forest for the trees." I think wanting a better life is probably rooted in biology while coping with what you have probably only comes from reason.
@virtutisoccasioest I guess it's hard for me to say because I have no other mind to compare it too, but wouldn't say it's not healthy, but it sometimes is an odd experience - might just be the human condition 😆 I think it's a "can't see the forest through the trees" kinda situation most of the time.
