Based on the BBC polling tracker shared here, I was wondering why did we need 6 weeks of political campaigning. Could Rishi Sunak not have chosen a shorter period leading up to the election? For some reason I am reminded of my English GCE "O" level studies of Romeo and Juuliet. After Mercutio's rambling Queen Mab's speech (about dreaming), Romeo response is: "... Thou talk'st of nothing".

If I was Sunak, I would've had the election in October.
