My Sister's Keeper was my first Jodi book and the one I keep thinking about even after reading it years ago circa 2004 when I was a teenager. I'm an older sister and my younger was born with cerebral palsy and I could relate a lot to the younger sister having thoughts about a sick sister and all that..though I lost my own sister in 2019 and now I relate to that quote about still having a sister/sib even when they are gone. I've also read Nineteen Minutes/Sing Me Home/ and Salem Falls...out of those the other one I think about a lot is Sing Me Home because I'm a part of LGBTQ community and again I could relate to parts of that. I love every Jodi book I read and hope/plan to read more of her stuff eventually.
I love finally seeing booktubers talking about Jodi Picoult. I’ve read all but her latest two books and am currently rereading all of them. (I’m reading Handle with Care right now) I also recently realized that she has recurring characters in her books like the lawyer Jordan McAfee. I definitely agree with these picks, but I think I would put House Rules in my favorites as well.
Leaving Time was the first book to make me cry at the end. I remember I wanted to finish it before I would go outside to swim with my friends and they were so confused as to how a book had made me cry when they came in to get me. Lol
I ❤Jodi & no joke I got an elephant tattoo after reading Leaving Time bc it gave me such feels about those incredible animals. Her story telling is impeccable. Small Great Things made me so mad yet so emotionally drained. Such a good book!!
Great review! I love Jodi Picoult and agree with everything you said ! I’ve read all the books you mentioned except small great things , but I have it and plan to read it soon . The only one that comes to mind that you didn’t mention was the Pact that might have been the first one I read by her .. another great one 😊
First video I've caught of yours and loved it. I've been reading Jodi for years and we have so many favorites! I think I'll have to add Nineteen Minutes to my tbr - It's been on my shelf for a few years but have never picked up it up. I look forward to reading it!
I've never read anything by Jodi, but these books all sound soo intriguing! I always thought I'd be bored by them. I definitely want to pick up Perfect Match and Small Great Things. Great video
My Fav author! My Sister’s Keeper is my favorite. Nineteen minutes is a close second. And I read Small Great Things recently and gave to my mom to read. So good!
What an awesome video!!!! I love hearing about all of these books! Makes me want to read all the ones I haven’t yet! I feel like I’m never disappointed in her stories. Also I totally agree with the statement that in her books you would think she’s always an expert in that field. When I read small great things she talked just as a labor and delivery nurse would- I loved that! It felt like I was getting report from a coworker…
This is a wonderful recommendation video, obvs heard you and jacqueline talk about this author recently and wanted to try some of them out so this is a great starting point for me... x
Love her books for all the reasons you mentioned. I met her twice at author events. She’s cool! Her books really make me consider multiple points of view. My Sisters Keeper haunted me! Her twists surprise me every time.
Love Jodi Picoult didnt think she was quite as popular nowadays she used to be, I love the ones you chose I also really like House Rules, have a look at it if you haven't :)
I had no idea that’s what My Sisters keeper was about! I always thought that book was made into the movie “The other sister” which is completely different! Now I have to read it lol

Yes she does have a few minor characters that you see more than once! House Rules was good, just not an all time fav for me!

This video is fantastic! I just have gotten started with Jodi, and this was so helpful to figure out what to read first.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Her books seem so impactful. Not something thrown together but something she put so much thought into. I only hear great things!
They really are. Her stories have stuck with me for years!
I loved The Pact by her
I have only read a few Jodi Picoult books, but plan to read a lot more. My fave so far is Small Great Things. The audiobook is awesome!

I think I need to go back and re-read some of her earlier/ not as popular ones! They might hit differently in adulthood versus young adulthood

Highly recommend. Just make sure you don’t get spoiled for the ending before you read it! Lol
NINETEEN MINUTES IS MY FAV TOO
They changed the ending in the movie and that was the best thing of the story in the book.
I agree!
I don't think Wish You Were Here had multiple pov. But I could be wrong.
The ending of my sisters keep is entirely different in the movie than the book
Does it?! Wow, it's been so long since I have seen the movie, i guess I need to re-watch it.
@@LaynasBookshelf yes! I was yelling at the screen 🤣
Yes I hate the movie because the ending is different
The ending in My Sister’s Keeper movie versus the book is completely different.
Yea I had forgotten that when I filmed it! The book is def better
I came here to say that! It made me so mad that they changed the ending in the movie!
