      A. C Kobe got carried by Shaq and then Gasol should have been 2010 Finals MVP.
      Lebron’s got the ultimate package. Too many weaknesses in Kobe’s game. He’s a one dimensional, low IQ, volume shooter, overrated plqyer

    • @rkayn24
      @rkayn24 5 лет назад

      @Lucas michaels
      Finals mvp doesn’t mean much...
      If u wanna use the logic of finals mvps then For real is Andre Iguodala better than steph curry nope
      Shaq’s competition in the finals : Dale Davis,34 yr old Dikembe Mutombo, Jason Collins
      Kobe’s competition in the finals: Reggie Miller, Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd
      Kobe’s competition> Shaq’s competition
      Thus shaq was able to get easy buckets because he was facing center who mainly averaged 10PPG
      - [ ]
      The Lakers in the first round of the playoffs faced the Sacramento Kings with Chris Webber leading the way. Shaq had a great series, putting up 29-17 on 53% TS. However, Kobe arguably outplayed the Diesel in this series, putting up 28-4-4 on 56% TS.
      Kobe also lead the Lakers in assists, and was the best defender on the team for the series. Shaq, when going against a great big man, had Kobe to shoulder the scoring load, a constant theme throughout the Lakers run until 2004.
      In the Western Conference Finals, the Lakers were down 3-2 going into game 6, and were in need of a big game from the league’s MVP. He did not deliver, and this pushed the series to a pivotal seventh game, where the Lakers would prevail. Shaq did not perform well at all in these final two games, while Kobe completely took over on both ends of the court to lead the Lakers to victory. Over the final two games, Shaq averaged 17.5 ppg,10 rpg, 0 apg , 0 spg, .5 bpg on just 49% TS, while Kobe dominated and had 29 ppg 6.5 rpg, 6.5 apg, 2 spg, 3.5, bpg on a much more efficient 57% TS. If Shaq truly did carry Kobe, then the Lakers should not have been able to win, but Kobe stepped up, as he often did this season.
      2000 Finals:
      Kobe absolutely locked down Reggie Miller in game 1, who shot an abysmal 1/16 FG (6.3%). In game four, Kobe took over late when Shaq fouled out, putting up four clutch field goals to propel the Lakers to victory. In game six, he had another great overall game and clinched the series with two clutch free throws with 2.5 seconds left. It’s also important to note that the Lakers went 1-1 with Kobe Bryant not playing the full game, but won a pivotal game four without Shaq for the end of the game. Even in the game the Lakers won with Kobe only playing 9 minutes, he scored/assisted on 11 points of a game eventually decided by 7 points.
      He only averaged 0.2 less ppg than Shaq in the 2001 regular season, and in the postseason, he was a completely different monster.
      Kobe averaged 31.6 ppg, 7 rpg, 6.2 apg, 1.6 spg, 0.5 bpg, 3.0 TOppg on 57.7% TS through the first three rounds, where the Lakers would go undefeated, and played the three best teams they faced the whole postseason.
      Kobe absolutely lit up all of these teams, while Shaq averaged 29.3 ppg, 15.3 rpg, 2.5 apg, 0.5 spg,1.9 bpg, 3.4 TOpg on 57.5% TS. So Kobe outscored Shaq while shooting more efficiently, was the superior playmaker (more assists and less turnovers) and defender. All of these teams had great big men (Sabonis/Wallace, Webber/Divac, Duncan/Robinson), and the Lakers as a result ran the offense more through Kobe.
      Even with a poor offensive output in game 1, he played great defense on Iverson, who scored most of his 48 against Derek Fisher and Tyronn Lue.
      Kobe stats
      Game 2: 31-8-6-2 on 58% TS
      Game 3: 32-6-3-2 on 49% TS
      Game 4: 19-10-9 on 52% TS
      Game 5: 26-13, 5 blocks on 57% TS
      Kobe also outplayed Shaq in the 2002 WCSF against the Spurs, as Duncan limited Shaq to just 21.7 ppg on 44.7% FG. Shaq had 21-12-3 on 48.7% TS to Kobe’s 26-5-5 on 48.6% TS.
      Kobe in particular was spectacular, putting up 31-11-5 on 62% TS in game 6, and followed that up with a 30-10-7 on 49% TS game 7. Kobe’s playmaking and defense were again crucial to winning the series. Bryant only had 2 TO over the final two games to go with his 12 assists.
      In the 2003 playoffs, Kobe Bryant averaged 32-5-5 on 53% TS to Shaq’s 27-15 on 57% TS. Shaq at this point in his career started to slow down a bit due to a toe injury and weight gain, and it was definitely noticeable on the defensive end. Kobe was pretty clearly superior to Shaq in the 2003 playoffs
      Btw Shaq was also very unreliable as the “best player” in the lakers.
      1. Shaq had a tendency to always get into foul trouble and sometimes ejected.
      2. After 2000, Shaq was coming into the regular seasons fat, overweight and unhealthy leading to him missing 15-25 games at the BEGINNING of the season.. Kobe Bryant has to carry the lakers to a good season record while shaq was absent
      3. Shaq also was TERRIBLE at shooting free throws barely averaging above 50%.. this weakness would prove to be a major problem for the lakers in the 4th quarter as team would foul shaq to send him to the free throw line and get the next possession quickly without wasting time to obtain a lead or establish a comeback. This is where Kobe came into play as he would takeover in the 4th quarter and carry shaq in the final minutes.. as teams had no answer for Kobe because he had no flaws in his offensive game.

      The super team of the Boston Celtics with Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Rajan Rondo was beaten by the big time help of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol along side with good role players.. Kobe’s leadership helped the team to be the FIRST Laker team to beat the Boston Celtics in a game 7 finals series.. which is pretty amazing considering the deep rivalry between the Lakers and Celtics and of course Kobe got his sweet revenge against them and the last laugh

    This is what happens when you piss off the wrong Lakers legend and future 1st ballot hall of famer at that point in time!!!! Like Jimmy, from Jimmyhighroller, said it doesn't matter how talented or naturally an athlete is, if he/she doesn't have a stone cold, cutthroat, relentless, get-the-hell-out-of-the-way, I got this mentality, they can only go so far. Either you're born with it or you're not. And guys like Kobe Bryant are in the same stratosphere as Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and other greats at that time. There is NO end to what they will do to help their teams win. It's almost psychotic when you think about it. Not every game there's going to be moments where they have to get their teammates involved. Don't get me wrong you should always get the guys involved and trust them, but the big million dollar question is this; "but can you find a way to win?". Don't get it twisted, winning isn't everything, but it's just the only thing that matters. If people thought that the Lakers at that time were gonna just surrender and let the Toronto Raptors blow them out of their turf on Kobe's watch, they better think again!!!!!! 💜💛💜💛🐍🐍🐍

    that 81 pt performance is bone-chillin. the raptors are up in the first half and playing lackadaisical defense. Kobe starts heating up and raptors probably assume he's going to miss at some point. he stays hot and by then the raptors do not know how to recover defensively and eventually give up the lead and can't make it up. their complete demoralization hits its crescendo at the end of the 4th when the lakers do not foul to get Kobe his standing ovation but rather the raptors turn it over allowing phil to pull Kobe out to a standing ovation. Kobe completely took the raptor's soul that day and the raptors' heads were still spinning as the clock hit 0.
