Gary encouraged me to read between the lines, I have been researching my country Rhodesia ever since trying to understand what happened. What I have discovered is mind boggling and very very disconcerting to say the least !! We were absolutely betrayed by our own for money and power, corruption is rife and millions have fled or died an early death since 1980!!!

One minor yet necessary correction of a very common misconception: The British authorities did not instigate a policy of mass liquidation of Boer civilians via their concentration camp network during the 2nd Anglo-Boer War, as inplied at approx 23:10.
The terrible mortality rates in said camps were instead a consequence of chronic mis-management, incompetence and neglect at administrative level, NOT deliberate murder.
I'm not trying to justify that system btw, just acknowledging the often _vital_ distinction between intent and consequence. ;)

      many would dispute this

Well then they would be _factually_ incorrect in such assumptions and perhaps would be better served _researching_ this inglorious part of British history than letting their heart - and their overt prejudices, dictate their (willfully) ignorant opinions...
Still, if you yourself doubt, consider this: if genocide really was the objective then why was it implemented so incompetently? Also, why was the concentration camp system not kept secret, or away from public scrutiny (and outrage) if its function was singularly malevolent?

Actually, along with the camp system, the destruction of crops and livestock was implemented to deprive remaining Boer _combatants_ on the veld of supplies...
That is not justification but rather _explanation_ - I certainly do not seek to “justify” anything, least of all your _wilful_ inaccuracies, contradictory as they are to historical fact. ;)

How did I find myself here in this biased and racist space...?
