If there' s a shortage of workers, some of it could be attributed to an aging population of ag workers who's kids are exploring other options. The number of actual jobs available may be greatly exaggerated. Besides, I doubt picking lettuce is anyone's idea of 'the American dream'. I live in AZ, right in the middle of all this ag. I'd think it's up to the owners of the fields as to who they want to hire if anyone.
