Martyn Lewis was probably the first person I knew was "from the telly". I randomly decided to google what he looked like in 1986, and it linked me to your video, posted only 2 hours ago! Coincidences rule 🤘
Martyn Lewis in 1986 would leave ITN and move to the BBC where he would launch their new One O'Clock News on Monday October 27th 1986 as part of BBC One launching a fully linked and proper daytime TV schedule.
This seemed to be before Martyn went to front the new BBC One O'Clock News. I wonder what Richard Whitmore went on to do as he had been the predecessor on BBC News After Noon
I watched the full episode to discover there's a bit left out but I can't describe the item left out in case of reverberations, there was possibly a perfectly sensible reason to leave the item out
Intriguing comment. I did cut a few moments out but the reason I did so was because the tape recording had deteriorated too much. I can't recall offhand who featured at that point - possibly Lewis' late wife
Eamonn Andrews was a class act, as is Martyn Lewis
Martin Lewis
@@cerileannewallace9387 No! It *is* Martyn. The money bloke is Martin.

He was legend an wonderful gentleman 👌👍📺📺📺📺
So unusual to see all the newscasters smiling . Usually they were so straight faced delivering the, mostly, serious news
Sadly Eamon died a year later

He became Sir Martyn Lewis in 201
And most deservedly as well
Imagine if Martyn Lewis was still presenting the news today instead of Huw Edwards telling the nation Queen Elizabeth had died.
Classic stuff.
He looks like Jeremy Beadle lol.
They must be in their 40s now.
And a Welsh man.Like my self.
