Do you collect Japanese toys?
I am a transformers and diaclone collector. I bet Japan is a mecca for toys! Awesome pickups!
@@antoniovistcoatis1541 definitely a mecca for Transformers!
@@AnalogToys looks like you had an awesome trip. Japan is definitely on my top of list places to visit.
Yup, love s.h.figuarts, Bandai makes a wonderfully articulated action figure
@@AnalogToys Have started a small collection of sofubi kaiju monsters but I expect it to grow 😆
I really like the mellow opening that has your title credits but segues fluidly into the episode. Your production is really pro. Keep shining AT!
So glad you had a great time and you came back with all these awesome toys, Tony! Welcome home 🙌🏻
Great video,it’s funny to see items in your video right where they were when I was there in December. I work out of Okinawa as a tour guide and am in mainland Japan almost every month. If you’re around Kyoto take a quick (15 min) bulletin train ride to Osaka and check out DenDen town another Mandarake Astro Zombies and a bunch of other great shops on one street. If you’re ever coming through Okinawa let me know.i have a good size collection and know some decliner places here to hunt (nothing like Tokyo but god enough for me local.
You’ve outdone yourself with this video. Happy you enjoyed yourself. Cheers
Great pickups from this trip. My hubby has been to Japan several times and has nothing but good things to say about the country and the people. Can't wait to see the videos that the new additions will generate.
Another excellent video Tony! Kudos! And you managed to stay within budget! Kudos again!
Great video Tony, looks like you had an awesome time. That Dr Who was a great pick up and a really decent haul for the $ spent.
Great video, sir. Loved see those Microman toys.
‘Completely puffed out’
Lol! Love it Tony.
Awesome haul
Fantastic video! I've always wanted to visit Japan to experience the culture & the Bullet train. Very nice pickups! Hadn't realised there was such a variety of toys available.
Thanks Dave. The Bullet Train is an amazing experience!
Going there on 27 Feb so this video is perfect!!! Thanks Tony!
Tokyo is one of my favorite toy hunting grounds, both vintage and modern. Mind blowing stuff.
Addendum to TIP#2: Visitors to Japan are legally required to have their passports on hand at all times. You do not want to get stopped by police without it. 😅
I didn't know that. Thanks for the addendum!
Very nice trip Tony very nice....
It's a great lesson to buy it when you see it. I have never regretted buying a vintage toy, but I still kick myself over opportunities that I should have taken, even from decades ago!
Great video Tony
When I was in Japan back in November during my second trip, I also went to the same Mandarake Shinjuku store and being someone who always buy stuff from there online, it was amazing to be actually there in person.
This is so damned fascinating.
You would love it over there mate!
Brilliant episode and fantastic toys, well done 😎👍
Great video. Looks like you had a fun vacation and some good finds. Cheers.
You seriously tempt me to divert some of my collection budget from my GI Joe ARAH loose quest to some other lines.
Fomo Arigato Mr Roberto! 😀Nice one Tony.
That is awesome you picked up Riyo of the wildfire
Japan is the vintage toy meca, because the Japanese have a culture of respect and preservation of old things.
Yup considering they preserve their temples so good that it makes sense
5:15 That is "Fuun Lion-Maru" from the TV show of the same name. The show was created and produced by P Productions, who are best known in the West for their TV programmes "The Space Giants" and "Spectreman". Fuun Lion-Maru is the sequel series to "Kaiketsu Lion-Maru" which is better known to kids of the 80s as "Magic Of The Ninja".
Such a fun video. I was most excited to see the shogun Godzilla and how much it cost and how you got it home 😂😂😂
Still enjoyed the video though
not just one of the best videos you’ve done, but one of the best toy related videos i’ve ever seen.
keep up the great work, and much love from north wales in the uk.
p.s - if you could put £ sterling alongside US dollar values in future that would be great
Thanks, I'll do my best!
That Terminator set 💪🔥
Tokyo has the best toy shops by far from modern to vintage and they take their toys seriously over there.
Great video mate I collect godzilla toys especially his true foe hedorah from godzilla vs the smog monster 1972 movie and anything on hedorah is very expensive !
I would LOVE to go to Japan! I am so envious! Japan and England are 2 placesI want to visit. I grew up on Doctor Who, Godzilla and Giant Robots. So...I would be buying Godzilla, Transformers, Microman and Jumbo Machinders! I would blow my budget on the first day.
Great video, great finds! (Fantastic production value too. You are incredible!)
Thank you so much!
Samurai Trooper was released in Austraila in the 90's as Ronin Warriors
I spent about two weeks in the Tokyo area a few years ago, and it was a treasure trove of Micro-man/Micronaut figures. I ran out of money way too quickly.
Tony loose in Japan, I think I’ve seen that Kaiju movie 😂
The lion headed character is lion maru it's a TV show from the 70s
That micro change gun was the first choice for Megatron but they went with the man from uncle gun because it had more parts. There is very early transformers commercials that use that figure as the basis for Megatron. It's a much cooler toy than the Megatron toy.
Iwant to know while you were looking foe thr boba fett figure was there other fisures there or was it just pot luck
They had a loose, complete large size Luke Skywalker and I almost bought him too!
got confused when tony talked about the french resistance fighter being more expensive and rare ,i always tought the foreign soldiers or "sour faced" figures were already rarer then regular joes ,is that not widely known within action man collectors ?
Not everyone watching this channel is a GI Joe or Action Man collector.
Cool japanise megatron
I thought you just moved the . 2 places for USD. That Dr who was cool
Nope, thats not the current exchange rate
That budget would have been about $2600 CAD for me lol
It was $2,500 AUD for me.
@@AnalogToys At least it was worth it.
