Just wanna say "Thank you for existing.". The TCG scene around here isn't big at all and especially not for lesser known ones like Weiss Schwarz. I remember seeing the Persona 4 trial deck in a card shop a good amount of years ago and I'm so happy I got it then since it introduced me to Weiss Schwarz. I still like making some decks and collecting cards even if I don't have anyone to play with and i'm happy to have came across your channel as well, it's kept me into Weiss Schwarz and looking forward to new sets!
Missed chance for the Fulgrim to be "Coco, the Weiss Schwartz Cat". Jokes aside even though out of order I'm enjoying the lesson series. AZUR LANE came out and both my Brother(Sworn) and myself have been fans since IT'S ORIGINAL DAY 1 so with it hitting this TCG which DRAGON MAID is apart of I dove in without any research and just been learning from the lessond and the channel in general.
Only commenting as a timestamp to say that English finally has a Ban list after all of this time. And I want to say thanks for making all of these videos. I might be a little late to the party, but I'm really getting into this game.
Definitely enjoying the git gud weiss series...I know one topic I would love to see covered is the runner and "leaving the field" mechanic. I just cannot comprehend the usefulness behind it and I constantly see it in top tier decks too.
Idk what you mean by "leaving the field" mechanic but I can explain the runner a bit. The idea is basically that during level 0 you want to be attacking to keep up damage and generate stock, but you don't want to commit too much from your hand because you are also trying to set up your hand for your level 1 combo turn. For this reason people use what we call "plussing zeros" which are level 0 characters that have a chance to survive the opponent's turn so that they can attack again on your next turn without requiring additional commitment from you. Runners are one such type of card. By running they potentially avoid combat or pick a battle with something weaker than them to survive the turn.
Thank you for explaining this because people even other Weiss Schwarz content creators keep going there's a power creep in Weiss Schwarz when in reality it's an ability balance scale that's been there for a long time. Sure the ability scale does make some newer cards better than older ones but some older cards have been in the meta for a long time due to the scale like AoT and SAO. In most other tcgs those sets would have been useless or rotated out in a few years. It really should be explained by others that the scale tips more favorably to some newer sets than hur hur it's power creep because Weiss Schwarz is designed differently than a tcg that has rotations like the big three tcgs.
The 0/0 Nakiri Ayame from the hololive set seems to fit this; 4000 power, but the opponent can pay 2 stock to prevent her attack. Is this a serious drawback? I'm new, and I like the card enough to try and use it in my first deck attempt
It's a pretty unlikely drawback to come up. Your opponent won't want to pay 2 stock to prevent your level 0 beater from attacking. The only time this is going to matter is maybe if it's your finisher turn and you had no other option but to play one of the Ayame as one of your filler lanes so in that one case the opponent might be inclined to pay 2 to potentially not die, but that's a very unlikely scenario in the first place you'll probably have something else better to play and attack with on your finisher turn.

man, the fact that in this game more damage is worse than less damage is one of the weirdest things
Pretty much. There are specific scenarios where 2 soul climaxes could be good, but I totally get what you're saying
Love the video, love the series!

Aged like milk (rip Kaguya 💔)
