A Nickelodeon show that I did despise a lot had to be Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn! The plot was so repetitive. It's literally, the kids make a conflict, and then fix it. That's it, really.
The thundermans was clearly an attempt to win over the Disney channel's glory. Considering the fact that *Lab Rats* (which was a convenient other show about teens with powers in a sitcom format) was made only a year earlier.
I loved the rabbit when watching this show. However, it was confusing that he was a evil super villain who got turned into a rabbit but he acts like one and is treated like a pet. It’s.. odd…. Oh yeah did I mention there’s a rabbit which used to be a unstoppable super villain but the dad turned him into a rabbit and now he’s Max’s pet-friend thing
This show is actually great. It's not very funny, but the characters and their development are surprisingly well written, especially if you watch all of the show.
@@Groggle7141 hahaha i used to be obsessed with Henry Danger and this show. Actually my favorite character was Chloe because I loved her superpower. Still do.
It's weird The Thundermans wasn't made by Dan Schneider because they had a great crossover episode with Henry Danger which is in the same universe as all of Schneider's other shows.
@@thedude8457 Leon Thomas III & Victoria Justice played characters on iCarly before the crossover. A lot of people look alike. It's not confusing so long as it isn't mentioned and explained in universe.
Henry danger, the thundermans and game shakers are in a single universe separate from iCarly and Victorious. That's because the thundermans had a crossover with Henry danger, which had another crossover with game shakers, and the latter one had an episode that confirmed that the fictional universe of icarly-victorious is ALSO fictional in the hd-tt-gs universe. Yes, I learned the whole nickelodeon cinematic universe lore by wasting a lot my childhood watching trash shows (aside from iCarly and Victorious which are gold)
Max has all of these evil devices and powers but never uses them. He could overthrow governments, nations, and organizations but decides to prank the principal.
To be fair, that's exactly what I'd have done as a kid, if I had those gadgets. I feel like kids don't really think on a global scale, since so much of their world is taken up by school and social activity.
I'm sorry, how did you not mention their archenemy who THEY TURNED INTO A RABBIT AND ARE KEEPING AS A PET?! He's basically the reason Max becomes evil!
Actualy yea. Why didn't they send him to jail. Being a human pet sounds like genuent torture. Like yea it was supossed to be revenge by how he ruined their wedding but still. Over 20 years a rabbit. I never realised how horrible that is as a kid.
I mean not really, max himself said he decided to be a villain because he doesn’t want to be overshadowed by pheobe, if he can’t be a better hero than her, he would just be the best villain he can be
There's one thing I don't like about this show it's that Hank, Phoebe, and Max don't have their own secret identities. Yes Hank is Thunderman but he's name is Hank Thunderman. It's a really dumb joke that doesn't make sense considering it's apart of the Schneiderverse where Ray Manchester & Henry Hart alter egos are Captain Man & Kid Danger respectively.
@@hannaaah1 oh yeah, Thundergirl which would mean Max is Thunderboy. The problem with that is Hank & Barb have 3 other children with superpowers and they can't all have the same name. Guaranteed it'll be associated with their powers but still they should all be more unique and not so simple.

So, a summary of the show basically: weird but fun. I sporadically watched episodes as a kid and yeah, it's stupid, but it's supposed to be. It made me and my brother laugh a lot at that age.
another show i watched during the pandemic. not bad at all. i avoided this show like the plague when it first came on but decided to give it a chance. i wonder what it was with sitcoms and adding extra children halfway through its run?? weird. but i will say that this show's existence helped shows like villains of valley view thrive so i'm glad for that (both moms have electric powers wtf??)
Failing cartoons and sitcoms add new characters to boost low ratings. Remember Itchy and Scratchy adding Poochy? And the Simpsons simultaneously adding Roy to their cast?
It's telling that fans who try to look at the show without rose colored glasses admit that it wasn't a good show. I only saw three episodes just to stare at how Phoebe is and I don't remember anything about them because they were boring. And as of late, there's no video reviews backing the show up. And now there's a newer Disney show called The Villains of Valley View that people accuse of being a ripoff of this show. But honestly, I think the Lab Rats creators might've watched it and thought "we should do that! But the complete opposite where they're evil! And with GOOD writing!" Seriously, this show is the closest thing to a decent current running live action kidcom that hasn't gotten cancelled yet. And personally, it's a better Disney Channel sitcom than Jessie, A.N.T. Farm, Sonny With a Chance, Shake It Up, Jonas or Hannah Montana. And I like all those shows...to an extent. Varying degrees of extent but extent nonetheless. There's more to it than Thundermans fans say it is. Give it a chance. I did hear from one RUclipsr that Bunk'd actually got better since season 4. I still don't plan on watching but at least Disney Channel's favoritism to the show isn't ALL for nothing.
I love this show. it was so funny to me, in that endearing, stupid way most Nick shows are :) Also, my cousins are twins, and they despised each other until they were 18.
I hope I'm not sounding like a broken record, but... How long until you do a video on Lab Rats? Now that you did videos on both of Nickelodeon's 2010s sitcoms about teens with superpowers, it's only fair that you do Disney's take on it (which, for the record, came before both The Thundermans and Henry Danger). And let me tell you, Lab Rats' first episode is pretty freaking bonkers.
I remember preferring max because I thought Phoebe was too perfect. Also her excessive and unrealistic girly ness bothered me cause all the big things I remember about her are her liking boys and hating max while I remember max causing mischief and doing fun stuff.
See I related a lot to Phoebe, but had a crush on Max (I mean how could you not) the girly Ness at the time I found relatable, though I was a 12 year old girl so it makes sense. Her fatal flaw is arrogance and in hindsight she is not perfect she just ended up filling that role in the family. However the boy obsessed culture made me think I always had to have a crush and ended up forcing them on some popular guy, who I later realised I did not like in that way (I mean it was never reciprocated), and as much as I had a crush on max SUPERVILLAIN PHOEBE awoke something in me.
@@thekittyangel5299 i feel like sitcom protagonists have little to no personality because the viewer is supposed to put themselves in the protag's shoes, but honestly it's more interesting when they have actual character instead of just being a cardboard cutout

Disney's lab rats handled the "superhero family pretending to be a normal family" trope way better imo, the drama made more sense and the sibling dynamics were funnier, they felt more like an actual family of weirdos

What hurt me most about this show was how they stupified the parents especially the dad, and that one time we had a max and nora episode that was soon good, that they never tried it again. 😔 so many missed opportunities in this show
"stupid parents" was the status-quo for these shows. Remember, they were targeted largely at teens, who like to believe their parents are dumb or at least horribly out of touch.
This show was my childhood and it definitely wasn’t the best but it did well for their target audience and I enjoyed watching it with my siblings after school very much 😊
I first saw a but of this video a couple years ago, the one where Max replaced the city's water with smth else. Then, a couple years later, I remember the show and watched it. It was weird and didn't make sense sometimes, but I loved it for some reason, and still do.
I really like the Thundermans, especially when the episode where Max finally had the chance to get what he wanted, to become a supervillian. It had been mentioned before but only in joking sort of situations. However, they actually gave development of that and showed that good side of Max. Max was never truly a Villian. He was just a bad kid and honestly, many shows play this trope of the favorite kid vs. Bad kid or something. They play this trope but it is mentioned as a joke and also mentioned his parents do love Max but just didn't like how bad he acted, which is why I LOVE Barb and Hank. I also really liked Dr. (whatever his name is I forgot lmao).

Now I’ve seen someone else talk about this show i want to share my really in debt theory. Chloe is actually adopted. In the show we can see that the family all have various powers and for everyone in the family you can make a argument that they kinda resemble there parents powers in a way showing that they’re there biological offspring. Max and phoebe both have telekinesis that they could’ve gotten from his dad that can fly. They also have fire breath and ice breath what they could’ve gotten from there moms weather powers. Billy has superspeed what he could’ve gotten from his dad as he has a lot of power. Nora has laser eyes what you can say she has from her mom as it’s just a hot beam. But Chloe has teleportation and there doesn’t seem to be any way she could’ve gotten it from her parents given how it’s so different. In the show they also hint at several superheroes being on duty and maybe a couple died leaving a orphan baby behind. To not make it look suspicious the mother fakes being pregnant for a while before adopting Chloe, this would explain the short pregnancy. I need other hobby’s
I see what you mean but I don’t think that Chloe is adopted. We literally see Barb give birth to her in A Hero is Born (well it technically happens offscreen but you know what I mean.)
Max was my favroute, he had allot of grough threw the series. I felt rlly bad for him as well, his family always favoured his twin and it clearly affected him. I'm happy at the end they were able to make up though

I have a twin and we used to watch this show as kids like A LOT, their relationship was very relatable for us cause we hated each other’s guts lol. We would always comment how we tried to kill each other….their relationship is very accurate in my experience :”D
@Sleeping Quest I don't think it's quite so factual as it is the perception. I have a twin, and I admit if you asked us how we felt about each other back then, we'd have flat out told you we hated each other. But the truth is people who actually hate each other don't do stuff like sit down and watch telly together. We clearly did love each other (and still do), we just got annoyed with the other one sometimes. I think it's more a question that if you have two people around each other long enough, one will inevitably annoy the other eventually, and twins are together usually for 18+ years. It's very easy to focus in on the bad.
@Sleeping Quest There is a bit of a difference, but it's societally created. When you're eternally having your identity intertwined with another person, as twins are, you naturally grow closer to them. Or, at times, further apart. Think of how twins will be called stuff like "The twins", whereas siblings are more treated as their own person.

Pinecones are actually protective shells for pine seeds, keeping them safe from cold temperatures and ice! I think they’re extremely unique piece of the natural world and are generally really interesting! I also think they look like fairies would move into them after they expel their seeds! Those are my thoughts on pinecones
Pheobe is so annoying. I already like Max more. I mean, being creative, trying to show your parents you can do cool stuff, but them never seeing who you really are and appreciating what you can do over years, and years of this that leads to frustration, outbursts, and wanting to become a villain? Yeah. When your family gets stuck on seeing only a couple of things about you, and it's not even who you are, despite you trying to change their perception...? Absolutely relatable.
The best shows on Nick that weren’t by Feet Man were by Scott Fellows (BTR and Ned’s Declassified. Also did work on Fairly Odd Parents and I can totally see it). The comedy styles of BTR and Ned’s were unique and iconic. Plus no laugh track!

When view count is low they add a new character for the hype
It's telling that fans who try to look at the show without rose colored glasses admit that it wasn't a good show. I only saw three episodes just to stare at how Phoebe is and I don't remember anything about them because they were boring. And as of late, there's no video reviews backing the show up.
And now there's a newer Disney show called The Villains of Valley View that people accuse of being a ripoff of this show. But honestly, I think the Lab Rats creators might've watched it and thought "we should do that! But the complete opposite where they're evil! And with GOOD writing!"
Seriously, this show is the closest thing to a decent current running live action kidcom that hasn't gotten cancelled yet. And personally, it's a better Disney Channel sitcom than Jessie, A.N.T. There's more to it than Thundermans fans say it is. Give it a chance.

I love this channel.
10:29 HARRY STYLES SPOTTED I REPEAT HARRY STYLES SPOTTED
Wow, this show did NOT age well. But no matter what your opinion is, we can all agree that Dr Colosso was the best character😂
What went wrong with it
@@nep2125 I'm also wondering the same thing.
Why though?...I think it's still pretty solid
@@myaedelman Me too I'm pretty confused with this comment 😂😂
MAX AND COLOSSO
I love how every time Billy runs, all these papers explode around him but WHERE DO THESE PAPERS COME FROM?!
The Thundermans and the Haunted Hathaways are the last shows I remember liking from Nickelodeon
Bro, I completely forgot about the existence of "Haunted Hathaways"
Both shows even had a crossover episode together
@@lucasborum4106 I almost forgot abt that omg
I loved haunted hathaways as a kid hel
I'm not surprised your channel is still gaining subs. You're not stagnant because you're hard working and genuinely understand what people want to see
Personally I loved this show as a child, and looking back on it now... It has aged like apple cider
I personally love pinecones. There are about 20 varieties of pine trees worldwide that produce cones; which makes them actually fairly uncommon. Pinecones are actually protective shells for pine seeds, keeping them safe from cold temperatures and ice! I think they’re extremely unique piece of the natural world and are generally really interesting! I also think they look like fairies would move into them after they expel their seeds! Those are my thoughts on pinecones
Fun Fact: Pine trees NEED fire to reproduce.
"Rated F for funky!"
I can't believe multiple adult men said
"Yes, this is good"
"Everything you've ever done ever?" Gee, I wonder why he became a villain.
This show was weird, but I still enjoyed watching it after school. It was just ridiculous enough to be entertaining but not brain damaging.
0:35 “ ALLEGEDLY GROWN MAN WATCHING A KIDS SHOW!!!” I’m literally almost DEAD 💀
Late thirties lmao
I love it every time 😍
Pheobe is so annoying.
Dude those little sound effects on BTR are amazing. I love that show, I don’t care if it’s for kids way younger than me, man.
