Tibet was never a part of China. It has much closer relationship with India, culturally and religiously. It has been grabbed by China and Nehru gave it on a silver platter, eventhough Dalai Lama wanted to merge with India and protect is from China.

No, an independent Tibet is better for India as it is a good buffer state between India and China. However, Arunachal Pradesh and eastern Ladakh (so-called Aksai Chin) are integral and inalienable parts of India.

For most of the last two thousand years, Tibet was a protectorate of Chinese dynasties. It was only in the beginning of 20th century did the Chinese lose a bit of influence in Tibet, due to political turmoil in main land China, and when the British took control of Tibetan affairs. However, even the British has always accepted China's suzerainty over Tibet even to this day. The British just held greater influence in Tibet during the Kuomintang rule from 1911 to 1949. Tibet was never a sovereign nation in history, although a few Tibetans tried to achieve that many times in 20th century. Tibet has very less population, and historically, only nomad tribes lived there, who were controlled by the Buddhist monks. The Chinese dynasties always considered Tibetan rulers as spiritual leaders, and respected them, but at the same time, never allowed them to establish a truly independent kingdom.
When the British convened the Shimla conference in 1913, where cartographer McMahon proposed the border lines of inner Tibet and outer Tibet with China and BritishRaj, the main agenda however was regarding trade regulations between Tibet, British India and China. The Chinese delegation had accepted all those proposals except the proposals regarding the borders, because the border lines proposed did not match the ground situation. That is how areas like parts of Arunachal, which the British had never controlled till then, became part of British India. So only the Tibetans and British agreed on the border, but the treaty was never ratified. By that time, the first world war began, and China went to internal troubles for the next three decades.
So when the communists took charge of China in 1949, the integration of various historic Chinese sovereign territories became a priority, but to their surprise, the Congress government under Nehru family which took control of India from Britain always wanted to keep all the territories which Britain had illegally invaded. This is exactly why China is not willing to settle border with India under India's terms. Even the so called nationalist BJP is insisting on keeping the British invaded regions of the colonial Raj with Republic of India. Just like India wants to keep Kashmir owing to cultural connections, China considers Tibet their own due to cultural as well as historic reasons. If India wants Tibet as it is Buddhist, will India also claim Japan, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Myanmar as all of these have dharmic culture originated from India? What logic is that? As of today, majority of Tibetans living in Tibet are happy under China, and they live a better quality life than any Indian living in any part of India. All what you hear about China and Tibet are western propaganda, obviously in English language. Indian nationalists love to believe all western propaganda when it is against China, but hates to believe when the same westerners trash Hindus, Sangh, Modi and India.

I visited Tibet around 2018. I saw massive military presence. The Chinese have built massive world class highways that easily accommodates heavy military vehicle which you drive for 45 minutes from the airport to Lhasa. I saw massive air force bases and army centers. Han Chinese easily outnumber ethnic Tibetan. Majority of Tibetan youth don't speak the language since the schools are in Mandarin run by Chinese. You see the very old being devout around all the temples but the youth don't care. Training centers for Tibetan Buddhism are all under the control of the Chinese Communist Party's " education" wing. I visited two and it was obviously a sham. China is Disneyfying Tibet removing all teaces of the real Tibet which will disappear as the very old die away. It is mandatory for all foreigners to have at all times a Chinese govt approved " guide" who are invariably from the army including the one I had. The local " guides" who are under this main guide are young and fully brainwashed and utter nonsense and lies that I got very frustrated.

India cannot yet be a policeman from Red Sea to Malacca straits. It is like the truck driver who allows his cleaner to drive on straight stretches of the highway when there is less traffic in order to catch a wink of sleep. The cleaner is also happy that he is got the beast under his foot and he just has to wait a bit till he is anointed the driver.

Before 1949, India regarded Tibet as an independent country and had a diplomatic relationship with Tibet. However, Jawaharlal Nehru was too naive and fooled enough to fall into the China trick, and he did not want to support Tibet when China invaded Tibet; his fatal policy was the beginning of the demise of India, and he died heartbroken due to his stupidity on Tibet.

There is a reason as to why these two countries are prospering while many western economies are collapsing. In my view, United States would be last country to care for Dalai Lama or Tibet or Tibetians. I hope the Indians realize it.

The Resolve Tibet Act passed by both houses of US Congress "Rejects as 'inaccurate' China’s false claims that Tibet has been part of China since ancient times.” That is absolutely true. "In 1842, a peace treaty was indeed concluded between the local authorities of China's Tibet and the Kashmir authorities". "As per the Chinese Government official's statement made in 1847 to the British representative that this section of the boundary was clear." On the Eastern Sector, McMahon Line, frontier between Tibet and Assam in British India was negotiated between Tibet and Great Britain at the end of the Shimla Conference (1914). That means Tibet was independent entity for over hundred yrs with right to do international agreements at least from 1842 to 1949 when Communist China illegally occupied it.
The Resolve Tibet Act strengthens India's position Vis a Vis China.
It is clear that Aksai Chin boundary was well defined but Chinese changed their mind after Nehru unilaterally surrendered Tibet. China then cleverly incorporated Aksai Chin into Xinjiang to eliminate1842 treaty & Tibet's right on it.
India's Indo-Tibetan boundary lines have as much sanctity as Vladivostok, Sakhalin Islands which became part of Russia & Hong Kong which became part of Britain with well defined agreements during that period. China calls that period Chinese Century of Shame.

Two things: recognizing Tibet as an independent country again is the right thing to do because Tibet was a sovereign country, and India used to regard Tibet as a sovereign state. 2nd, when Tibet regains its independence, India will be the biggest benefiter on every level, and after all, they have been a great Niegbbor for centuries.

Good. Short video , talking about something which others do not talk. This is called analysis. When you finish, viewers should feel why it had finished and should yearn for more
What Sumit and Rajagopalan talk are all from hearsay . They take some news from the public domain , sugar coat it with comments like ‘ I heard it from PMO, dmk MPs spoke to me, just coming from a meeting with …. , heard from confidential sources etc’. They are mere speculations and may be helpful to fill up the contents , but no use .. whatever they have said , have never happened … except the ones which are already in the public news … for that they are not required.. please ask them to do proper analysis and come to the channel. Otherwise no use ..

India still facing China it’s a huge problem for India! So most Indian politicians can’t even figure out what to do and what to talk about Tibet! It’s sad and problematic for your own creation! Some Indian news channels talking very nonsense. See United States has been very supportive to Tibet issues! Tibet issue from now on became very serious and very important issues.
