I think its because her voice is more high-pitched than sumires, also mikuru has a deeper voice than akari like sumire so thats probably why. In my opinion I like the original better.

Sumire have never sung Otona Mode, Mona voiced Mikuru in Otona Mode (Mona voiced Sumire and Mikuru during her time in Star Anis and Aikatsu Stars)
