Great work sir. I really appreciate your efforts. Keep it up. Greater the schedule means greater the thickness and high ability to withstand high pressure? How can we find out the expansion and contraction rate of the pipe?
hello. Very good job.it was very clear for me to understand this .I was always trying to find a source which can help me to learn these details I think I've already found it. thank you so much.
Thank you for helping explain this to us, it is confusing at first when out on your own then watching this video I have a better understanding. Lance & Patrick.
Sir how we can calculate nps size upto 12" Beyond this nps is same as OD but upto 12" OD≠NPS so how can we calculate NPS size for rest of the pipe sizes less than 14".
dear hard hat engineer thank lots for your efforts can I ask you a question? when I do piping wall thickness calculation with all B31.3 (last edition) code considerations I get some answers without identified schedule numbers according to B 36.10 M-1015 As example :24" with 20.62 mm wall thickness as you note this wall thickness didn't have a schedule number while (schedule 40 for 17.48 mm ) and (schedule 60 for 24.61 mm) can you kindly provide me with your answer and advise
Hey I have question regarding pipe schedule. Suppose I have to find pipe schedule by checking diameter Nd pipe size , so what I have to check according to pipe size (size) or outer pipe diameter
Good morning myself S K Paul M. Tech. Mechanical. Teacher as pipes are pressure vessels than wall thickness and bore must be proportionate to the working pressure which can standardised the NPS or Borehamwood of pipes
hi. i have new bore well and discharge is 100 gallon. i want to put hdpe water pipe from bore to tank and distance is 1600 meters. plz what pipe size must i choose and also what bar of pipe ( ex: 3 inch pipe 16 bar or like 3 inch 10 bar or 2inch 16 bar ) please i want formula of that how to choose size of pipe and bar. please replay because i have to replay to my manager. thanks
@@HardHatEngineer Thanks for your reply. I will rephrase my question. What is the origin of the old Iron Pipe system. Why the uneven OD? Surely they where using inches back then right? So why they didn't make a system where the OD would be 1", 1.5", 2", 3", 4" etc...
The entire system is based on industry usage and not ease of use. All of the sizes below 12" are commonly used for fluid and gas systems and they rely heavily on the internal diameter to calculate flow. If you are needing round hollow tube for a structural system then you might want to specify "Tubing" which is measured strictly by OD and Wall thickness.
You cannot set the thickness of the pipe always according to mm conversion , if u do it will never withstand the assigned pressure because ID of the pipe is small it means the pressure distribution will have smaller amount of area to exert pressure thus it will burst it but it is not the case the pipe size over 4” because they have bigger inside area. I hope that works for u.
B16.5 is standard for flanges not pipe standard. But what you have said is correct that 4 inch and above it is straight multiplication with 25. For smaller sizes it is different. Did I said anything thing otherwise?

nice job sir .keep it up.

Thanks man for that wonderful informative video..can you please make a video for selecting the pipe size for certain flow rate and pressure for lpg.
Is the allowable stress, S , in the formula given at 04:48 referring to the Yield or Tensile strength of the material?
hi dear I want to ask you please ,how to calculate pressure to select pipe schedule
You have to calculate thickness using the B31.3 formula, and once you have a thickness, you can select the nearest available commercial size schedule.
Great work sir. I really appreciate your efforts. Keep it up.

what is the easy way to select pipe size & pipe schedule for a given pump set
Very nice information sir....
May I know why the outer diameter is not equal to the schedule number for pipes of schedule number 12 and lesser ???? Waiting for your answer eagerly
It is standard that decided. You have to go through history. I don't think there is any technical reason.
@@HardHatEngineer thanks for the reply
Thanks
why schedule STD why not schedule 40 or vice versa. Why there is two differently designated schedule what is the reason please explain.
how to calculate pipe od for pipe less than 12 inch
You have to check the chart. It is fixed.
I mean...Is there any table that shows the pressure class of the pipes and their fittings?
It will be is piping specifications but it is company specific
Please upload video on use of indian standards such as 1239 part 1 and 2 in piping field

Sir, I want to know more things of pipe Schedule.
What is non scheduled pipe? Difference between scheduled and non scheduled pipe
Pipe with specific thickness ( Non standard) are non-schedule pipe.
@@HardHatEngineer schedule 80 means. Thickness is 15.1.. so this is specific thickness.. Non standard means?
Very good. Thank you..
It was good video
But what is the origin on NPS? i.e. why the OD doesn't match?
It is history of evolution. How world move from old Iron Pipe system to current system.

you said to convert NPS into DN you've to multiply by 25 but in table 1/2 NPS is 15 but not 12.5
