Give the Genesis line 10 years and re do this test, I bet Genesis starts taking all the awards like Acura/Lexus did in the 90s! Hyundai isn't playing around anymore, they are getting better in leaps and bounds.
Tino Miller Probably won't take near that long to be honest, Acura came on the scene and within 5 years began winning all the awards and dominated the 90's until Honda fell off in the 2000's.
Acc0rd79 I doubt it... First off they are way to pricy and would need to fall back if an E Class with higher rankings and a 5 Series with better performance is with mostly all amenities is worth less people would not look at these Genesis
but cadillac in 10 years... They've come a long way, and with the continental from lincoln, they are going to have to perform to out-do that. I think lincoln will be the cause for cadillac becoming great again very soon
Acc0rd79 they don't need 10 yrs, they already proved themselves through sales and awards. It's 2017 and if people think Hyundai is still the same start up company from years ago they are idiots.
I don't think these two cars should be compared. Caddy is trying to make people forget about the floaty ride they were known for in the 60s, 70s & 80s. For that, GM wants you to go for a Buick. Caddy wants the 5 series and E Class market (which in part is why the CTS is being phased out). Genesis, on the other hand, wants to be the LS460, S Class and 7 series alternative. As a driver, I'd prefer the Caddy. But if I had a long daily commute, I'd rather be pampered by the Genesis.
Tully3674 the Genesis couldn't (and doesn't) compete with the S-Class, 7-series. The price point is so far off its not even funny, and they didn't really try to put THAT much luxury into it.
I agree with Tully3674's points. Cadillac is going for a different demographic. They are no longer trying to get the retired crowd, but looking to get the 40-something up and coming business professionals. We want the executive car with status, but we still want to have fun and enjoy the tech. Today's Cadillac gives you that up and down the line up from the ATS to the CT6. Besides all that, when you look at the spec comparison that was shown within the first minute or two of the video, there is no question what car to buy on paper. Cadillac had a smaller engine, with more HP, more torque, better gas mileage, less weight, faster 0-60 and a better price by almost $4K as tested. Later in the video, the reviewer admits that the driving dynamics are superior for the Caddy. What else do you need to know? Making up excuses about annoying options that can all be turned off? Better to have and not need, than to need or want, and can't have. Now if you are 60+ with a sore tookus and fading reflexes, perhaps the G90 is for you.
That Cadillac surprisingly looks like something a younger person would choose, the genesis looked designed for an old man. The cadi just looks so sexy, sleek, inside and out so contemporary.
I'm with ya, Chrisdblue! That is exactly what Cadillac is going for...a younger professional. They are trying to distance themselves from the "grandfather mobiles" of the past. Let's let Hyundai take care of "Pa Pa".
Actually drove both.... I really enjoy how the genesis takes care of the buyer. When I drove the ct6 it honestly feels like you are driving something special an once you leave the lot the excitement there is over. Hyundai still feels like a Hyundai. It's is very smooth ride. Overall I clearly went with the caddy. Every time I walk away from my car I always look back and go wow... that's mine :)
Caddy looks more modern and fresh, they're also trying to establish more chassis and handling dynamics into the vehicle vs being all floaty and cushy. Genesis looks like a mix between a G37 and Sonata in the front end, nothing really new and the lines don't really catch your eye. Looking at the distant shots of the cars approaching, the cadillac has a unique vertical DRL, kinda like what Audi did with the R8 back in the day. The G90 could be confused with a Sonata....for something at this price point, it needs to be more unique styling wise.
The Genesis is an amazing, luxurious car for sure but when you are spending this much money the brand alone has to be taken into account. The "Emblem" is very important to most people looking for a car in this segment. i think people that are going to buy the genesis are people that want all the luxury that you can get from other brands for a much lower sticker price. To put it this way, the smart shopper is going to buy this.
I had a 2001 Dts and now own a 2012 Genesis 3.8 Sedan and I must say the novelty of the Genesis wore off pretty quickly, but my Caddi every time I drove it I was in love all over again. Then again the interior was more luxurious then the Genesis and the ride was amazing because of the air shocks.
The G90 is a hell of a car, but that CT6 just fits my style that much more. I think it really comes down to fits your lifestyle better. Also it didn't really surprise me much that the Korean doing this head to head would probably like the korean-made car that much more.
The Genesis was the clear winner, as long as someone's main consideration isn't driving dynamics. The Cadillac is a better driver's car, but the Genesis was better at everything else. Thanks for watching!
ray britton she said and I quote: "as long as you're not a car snob that cares about brand cache, it's clear which one the winner is." That was after she went on about all the things that the Genesis did better. I guess you didn't watch until the end to see
Vikk 54 I know Vikk. I also know you get what I'm saying. the whole video eluded to the Genesis being a better car. but she just didn't say it outright.
I think you might be overthinking it. They said that the Genesis out-cadillaced Cadillac, then said it was clear who the winner is while pointing at the Genesis. It's pretty common in reviews to use different phrasing and pronouns to avoid constantly saying the same name. In context, there was no ambiguity about who the winner was. Also, it's "alluded", not "eluded".
Blaze Flame The Cadillac looks like it's crying, just look at that appalling headlight design, and after this loss, it should be crying. There's a new top dog in town and it's the Genesis. The Genesis screams luxury and beauty. It has more presence on the road than the Cadi.
Jared Shelton caddy draws more attention because it doesn’t look like most cars not one car I seen looks like a caddy and the G90 looks like Toyota, Lexus , and other basic cars trying to look luxury but doesn’t turn out right. I’ll take the caddy any day.
The truth be told, most people buying in this segment ARE "brand snobs". Despite how good you feel the Genesis is over the Cadillac, it's still a Hyundai and the Cadillac IS a Cadillac. I know people that own Equisses and they all seem to feel an obligation to explain why they bought them. I also know Cadillac owners(myself included) and none feel that way. If Hyundai really was serious about marketing these cars to an upscale clientele they would have put them in separate buildings from the cheaper Hyundai as Toyota did with Lexus. An upscale customer doesn't want to shop in a showroom with signs covering the windows that say "$99 per month" or "We finance everyone"!
The small print reads "Three thousand nine hundred and ninety nine dollars due at signing, with approved credit". Spelled out so that it may not be noticed as numbers would catch your eye!
Steve W you buy a Genesis if you don't care about brand name. But a big part of buying a luxury car is the brand name... So Merc BMW and Audi will continue to rule for a while.
I purchased a Genesis after driving a fully loaded 5-series (every option possible) for a year. I am a huge car snob and I know I bother a lot of people because I know all of the facts and I've driven or owned one of every car of most segments. My Genesis still makes me smile every time I get in it. Mulholland twisty roads to long straights in the desert, I never feel that I have compromised. The HP number is average but the everyday usability ties together perfectly. After one year all of the buttons and seats show very little wear. Some cars never feel new again even after a few weeks. Genesis nailed it. I would never compare a G90 to an S-Class. Never. They are two totally different animals and the S-Class in my opinion is a canon at a boxing match in any price point. All said, if a G90 showed up without badges next to rest of the luxury cars we have, we would all be thinking it was a concept car from a known manufacturer.
I drive my brothers CT6 3.0TT Platinum all the time, the car rides so smooth it's amazing. He's got the 32 speaker Bose sound system that will blow your mind, you crank Pink Floyd and it's like an orgasm. Plus when you punch the gas, you leave the G90 in the rear view video mirror.
I totally agree with this review! The G90 excells in areas of luxury where the CT6 falls short! Such as having a smoother, more refined ride and more qualitative interior!
Jamel, have you driven the Platinum CT6 with the Active Chasis Package? You wouldn't make that claim if you had. The Ct6 interior is a great place to be, moving or standing still. The light cashmere with maple accents gives it a very high luxury look with very elegant wood and soft touch leather everywhere. You need to check it out live.
I don't get that logic either. Cadillac had a smaller engine, with more HP, more torque, better gas mileage, less weight, faster 0-60 and a better price by almost $4K as tested according to the video. The innovations and technology available in the CT6 far outweigh the G90.
Hey. Just some feedback. Everything is fine and perfect, but I would like for the videos to be 8-15 mins long. I am always left for wanting more from you guys because y'all are awesome! Great vid.
I wonder how she said the ct6 lacks cohesiveness. The cadillac has more space, is lighter, more power, faster and, uses less fuel. The lack of standard features makes it more affordable for some. While people who spend more get an out this world factory sound system and, self driving feature. Yea it is obvious who the winner is.
I can't believe that we live in a world where a "Hyundai" can be compared to a Cadillac or any other block buster luxury brand. I feel that this review is quite biased. I would take the CT6 any day over the Genesis!
In my opinion, both these cars don't look really good but having the choice, Cadillac it would be, simply because Cadillac has identified themself to a unique style and i like it. But genesis has simply taken designs from other car brands and put them together. The genesis has no identification.
all "cheaper" luxury brands like genesis and lincoln feel the need to copy other designs. Cadillac has actually paved their own path, and look nothing like anything else on the road. I like that
Luke Jesus exactly, not that i would buy a cadillac, but buying the genesis is like buying a fake omega watch. It will kind of look good and work well until you give it a look and realize it's not a real real one and doesn't have the technicality the ultra luxura brands have.
I agree. Genesis needs an identity style. They've got the technology down but lack a knockout look that makes everybody want them. But remember what hyundai did with the 2011 Sonata. Hyundai/Genesis has something special behind the curtain.
Well you are comparing a 100+ year old to a infant in car years, so yea they are still finding their style. Thumbs up to Hyundai as they are proving themselves more and more as they years go by. The next five years will prove interesting and I am placing my bet on Hyundai/Kia/Genesis.
This seemed like a bias review, she failed to mention the stats for these cars are not actually close however she said they are similar on paper that's a lie. she complained about the Cadillac not being cohesive enough but excuses the Genesis for being a much less performance orientated vehicle. This is the first car review that I have ever seen that forgives performance during a direct head to head comparison, it's a pretty big deal. They both have beautiful interiors but rear seat monitors are a huge advantage Cadillac has over the Genesis. That brand whore comment at the end actually says more about her bias than anything else.
Duronhunt she’s a typical millennial liberal. Her family emigrated to a country that did more for her family than anyone deserves but hates the Cadillac just because it’s American.
I'm a GM guy and use Yukon XLs for my transportation company. When I decided to add a sedan to the fleet I test drove the three Cadillacs (CTS, XTS, and CT6) and was thoroughly disappointed in all of them. The CTS was small and extremely cheap feeling, the ATS was ok but felt a little dated compared to the CT6. The CT6 was ok but still not up to the standards I expect of a Cadillac. I next drove the 2017 Lexus LS460 L and a 2017 G90, and was surprised that the G90 was the best of the bunch overall. The LS was fine as a passenger but is extremely boring to drive and while the LS500 is a massive improvement both in looks and technology, it's also quite a bit more expensive and at that price point I would be looking at an S class or Audi A8L. Bottom line, I agree 100% with the tester's opinions. The Caddy is gimmicky and disappointing while the G90 delivers a MUCH more modern and satisfying large sedan experience.
I test drove these two vehicles back to back. I agree with the reviewer the G90 is the clear winner. It came across much more polished and luxurious than the Cadillac CT6
Give me the Caddy. The looks and brand cache make it an easy winner. Let me know when Hyundai makes a real luxury channel, with its own dealer network, or a good looking luxury car. For $70k, damn right l, call me a brand snob!
Genesis in Canada (and on a smaller scale in the U.S.) is trying a new method where there is no dealer at all. Customers get a personalized concierge service that will come to your home and conduct the whole sales process there! Also applies to picking up your car for service, etc.
That's exactly the company line I would give if I were too cheap to invest in a dealer network. As I said, let me know when they are ready to stand behind their products, and not take shortcuts. Even little Tesla gives people some form of exclusive dealer network. Hyundai is one of the world's largest car companies, and they have money to do it right. They choose to be cheap!
Nissan TitanWarrior The G90 can not comepte.. Hyundai needs to do better and stop trying to be in the luxury zone. Not even Infiniti or Acura is trying that hard.
Nissan TitanWarrior i praise for you my friend. totally agree with u. i am also a car snob. cadillac is much and has compete with mercedes benz and bmw for years
Guys calm down. In the 20's and 30's you had Maybachs, Mercedes 540K and Duesenberg. They were on par. In the fifties, the Cadillac Eldorado Brougham was the best car in the world. It cost as much as a Rolls-Royce, and Cadillac still lost money on each of them. At the time, Mercedes could't even offer a V8. The 600 changed everything. It was a technological Tour de Force, and again, Mercedes lost money on every car sold. In the seventies, Mercedes introduced the W116, a giant leap from it's W108 predecessor with 50's technology, and the best car in the world according to many motoring journalists. From then on, US cars got caught in a downward spiral. Just take a look at the chronology of the Ford Thunderbird or the Buick Riviera. Whereas european cars coped far more naturally and easily with the oil crisis and efficient design. They had already built cars to those circumstances after the war.
I remember when the big Sonata platform changed and, I believe, it was car and driver, said Hyundai did in 6 years what the Detroit three had failed to do in 20.
this is a hard choice for me...Hyundai has been top notch lately but Cadis' VSeries division have been the only American auto manufacturer to challenge the Germans successfully.
Nice comparison video! Wow... Genesis sure is producing quality vehicles. There first year as their own individual brand and they are already knocking out heavy hitters from Cadillac! I cannot wait until I can review the new Genesis G90 as well as the Cadillac CT6. They both seem like really good luxury cars! Personally, I like the exterior styling of the CT6 more, but Genesis just wins you over with their extraordinary standard equipment. Keep up the great work! -DriveAndBeDriven "The Quest To Record The Best!"
The Caddy is going after the Audi S6, BMW 540i, and MB AMG E43 buyers. As such, these are the cars that should be compared to the CT6. Compare the new Genesis G90 to a Lexus LS or the Lincoln Continental. This comparison is based on the flawed assumption that the Cadillac of yore (which made big luxury cars meant to coddle the driver) is the same as the contemporary Cadillac (which strives to make a driver's car that is also luxurious). The G90 is clearly marketed toward a buyer looking for the latter.
I'm tired of these people driving a car for a day or two and not spending time with the car. Cadillac always has to deal with these dweebs that don't understand the tech. It is because they spend a short time with the car. Any of us know the more time you spend the more you understand why it was done the way it was done. Also I be damned if I spend 70K for a Hyundai! It is a great car but if it had a Cadillac badge they would be complaining that it is not sporty enough, efficient enough, storied enough, light enough, etc. You can only glide by when there are no real expectations.
I kind of agree with you. Who would spend $65K for a Hyundai?! Wait...people said the same thing in 1989 when Toyota released the Lexus ES250 (a lunxurious Camry with a Lexus badge). Hyundai finally woke up and realized the Genesis should be badged as a Hyundai. G90 will do fine. In the land of Bimmers, Benz & Bentley's, I see enough of them in Beverly Hills/West L.A. to know they'll sell.
Tully3674 I hear you and as a prior owner if several Hyundais I saw the engineering sort comings. I am speaking of the Equus. Still competition is good and I am not really knocking the product but the reviewers approach. I have spent time with the CT6 and I loved it. Size of a bigger car and drives like it is mid class. The tech is amazing and it is a bargain for the class.
I would agree. I've heard maybe 1 auto journalist not have a problem with CUE. For everyone else in the auto journalism business, the accepted line of opinion is CUE sucks, period, end of story. I haven't used it myself, but I find it hard to believe it is so universally awful that 99.9% of reviewers think it's the devil incarnate.
I think the ES250 was damn near invisible next to the segment-rocking LS400, though. Lexus hasn't had many cars that were thinly reskinned Toyotas, but the ES250 was the first. The HS250 was the last.
SurelyYewJest Here is an idea. Go into a Cadillac dealer and sit in one. play with CUE. I have no issue with it. Funny how BMW's system was bashed when it came out. Now they are use to it they love it.
You dont need a V-8 when the car is lighter than a CTS, 5-series, and E-class. Its about efficiency and power to weight ratio. And this CT6 is killing it.
for those who say the G90 is better.... I will tell you that women pick wrong car 80% of the time. She will regret it and know which one is better after few years of ownership... just like how girls pick their boyfriends, they always go for the douchebags. They will cry after a year or so... for breaking up and regretting to friendzoned the good guys and picked a douche back then...... After crying, they pick another douchebags....... Same here!! So, my advice is to pick the other one is the safest choice.
Too bad the Cadillac doesn't have all the rear seat limo-level features cause the rest seems very good. If you want a nice large car without rear seat controls, you got the CTS/G80 so I'm surprised they didn't do more to make the CT6 feel more like a limo.
I would much rather have the Cadillac not an upscale Hyundai to be honest the genesis is not bad car but it something different when you buy a luxury car from a manufacturer that is only know for building luxury vehicles from the start Cadillac, Mercedes Benz, BMW, jaguar, Audi, all theses company know luxury at their core these other brands are attempting to create luxury after the fact.
Jerome provilus jr And adding to this, the exterior has no originality, and the interior still takes on some concepts from the 90's labelled made in Asia.
Here's the problem with your review, the cars aren't similarly equipped and you used tech as a major distinguishing point. Caddy lets you get into the brand for less, but you can add the features you were praising in the Genesis. At that point, the cars cost the same, have the same amenities, but the caddy has more hp and torque. Essentially, Caddy gives buyers more flexibility. Terrible comparison done by an amateur.
It has full LED Lighting with interior mood lights. I agree about the Panoramic roof question the need for full digital display but hay the markets is going that way.
I bought myself a g80 and i love it, i was driving a 2012 Audi A6 before i purchased the g80. Always been a huge fan of the German cars, Audi being my favorite, then mercedes and bmw.. but the g80 after driving i loved, i know people are just like "oh yeah but its a hyundai" well 2017 genesis became their own brand. Honda and acura, VW and Audi, toyota lexus, nissan infinati and now hyundai genesis.. the thing i loved about the g80 is the base car comes with more options than a base a6 or E class or 5 series, ontop of that the base g80 is basically a fully loaded a6 e or 5 series.. the car looks great and yeah people will say they just copied other cars, like the audi grille and headlights, mercedes fog lights, lexus tail.. etc, but why not? take what everyone loves in other cars and make a great car... it'll take a while for people to appreciate the genesis g80 and g90 and the brand itself, because it dosn't have the brand yet like the other competitors.. its like Lexus, when toyota made lexus nobody cared for it.. bascially just saw them as over priced toyotas.. but now if you own a lexus then you've got a great car :p same deal with genesis.. just needs time. it's only had 1 year so far as its own brand.. and in 2015 they started to get noticed when they remodoled their previous model.
Nice review. I noticed on the Cadillac the multi-finger gestures (like a Mac touch pad) were not included, and knowing about them significantly increases the functionality of the track pad. Hyundai's new luxury cars do seem to provide a remarkable level of traditional luxury. Glad to see they have decided to brand them as a Genesis in the same way the best Toyota products wear the Lexus badge.
Recalls on that 3.3 turbo a Genesis G80 with that motor only had 9k miles in it was smoking and leaking radiator fluid really dont like Cadillac but this particular one has me thinking about getting one
One problem with the Genesis G90 is the back seat, and cars in this class are often carrying adults in the back. Of 14 full-sized cars I checked, the G90 is 10th in rear-seat headroom...and 14th in rear-seat leg room. (Sadly, the new Lincoln Continental came in last in rear-seat headroom.)
So you all said you wanted caddy to give you a sportier sedan. Caddy gave it to you! When we had the lighter floatier feeling you ran Cadillac into the ground. I swear people wouldn't be happy if you gave them jesus, wait they did him to you and you rejected him too. Lastly, they never gave caddy a break for being a luxury car company. they always compared caddy to cars costing twice the money, with half the fuking jobs in this country. But the thing that kills me is that GM never fired back and showed mistreatment. now this big ass lux boat comes in and you say o you out cadillaced Cadillac, even tho caddy gave you what you asked for. This here is the shyt that pisses me off........
She doesn't have a clue Cadillac has now become the standard of the world and g90 is judged invited. U should have represented Cadillac as the standard and the G90 a possible competitor to be accepted as a standard like Cadillac Mercedes abs even Lexus and BMW mean look at the legendary comparos motorways 93 luxury car shoot out
Genesis at the end of the day is still a Hyundai which really is a throw-away car. You buy them to the end of the warrantee and drop it in the used car market, BMW, MB and KIA are all the same.
People complained when Cadillac had the soft ride and was not as sharp as the Europeans. And now that Cadillac is a better car dynamically than the Europeans, people still complain. Go figure!!
I’ve used the Touch pad in the Cadillac, it’s pretty good imo. But that was off the lot, not sure about extended use. I haven’t got to sit in a genesis as of yet, but I’d still prefer the Cadillac. If feels and look more exclusive inside & out. While the Genesis, is still a very nice car. But looks like it put components of Lexus & BMW in their interior. Cadillac just looks more refined and special to me.
Caddie when you see the ct6 you see it! It has great road presence, I also like the new interior, nothing against the genesis but it doesn't make me go wow. Great car and really I love the idea of mega amenities at that price range give me my money's worth.
For me I like the Front and side view along with the interior on the Genesis. I like the front, side, and Back view along with the interior on the Cadillac. It’s just a matter of opinion :)
Many rich people and those with high social status in Korea drives this car, along with Kia K900. It's highly regarded for its comfortability, silentness, and its luxurious space. Personally, I think it's whole lot better than Lexus LS, Cadillac CT6, or Audi A8.
Give the Genesis line 10 years and re do this test, I bet Genesis starts taking all the awards like Acura/Lexus did in the 90s! Hyundai isn't playing around anymore, they are getting better in leaps and bounds.
Acc0rd79 10 years is too long .. Tesla, Mercedes, or GM will take those from them..

ct6 for me with platinum.
I love the Genesis's styling. It's so subtle yet perfect.
Tully3674 how is the cts being phased out?
Tully3674 the Genesis couldn't (and doesn't) compete with the S-Class, 7-series. The price point is so far off its not even funny, and they didn't really try to put THAT much luxury into it.
Tully3674 you mean the XTS being faded out?
Tully3674 Buick = Lexus...Cadillac = Audi & BMW
I agree with Tully3674's points. Cadillac is going for a different demographic. They are no longer trying to get the retired crowd, but looking to get the 40-something up and coming business professionals. We want the executive car with status, but we still want to have fun and enjoy the tech. Today's Cadillac gives you that up and down the line up from the ATS to the CT6. Better to have and not need, than to need or want, and can't have. Now if you are 60+ with a sore tookus and fading reflexes, perhaps the G90 is for you.

chrisdblue agreed 100%
chrisdblue idk.. as a young and sexy man I find the genesis sexier and classier in terms of looks
Cadillac looks Transformer-like. Too toyish IMO.
Cadillac ct6 is an overpriced impala
Actually drove both.... I really enjoy how the genesis takes care of the buyer. Jonathan A I see sonata DRLs....kinda looks like cheap Pep Boys add ons
Jonathan A then you probably haven’t personally seen a new Sonata.
The Genesis is an amazing, luxurious car for sure but when you are spending this much money the brand alone has to be taken into account. DanielSangster you know the consumers 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It'll be known soon enough. Not it is about getting the early adapters.
I wouldn't drop an extra 20gs just to have my hood say Bavarian motor works. Lol. I own a Genesis and it's glorious. And no one knows what it is 🤣
I had a 2001 Dts and now own a 2012 Genesis 3.8 Sedan and I must say the novelty of the Genesis wore off pretty quickly, but my Caddi every time I drove it I was in love all over again. Then again the interior was more luxurious then the Genesis and the ride was amazing because of the air shocks.

Last name is Lai
I wish you had said who the winner is. it's almost like you're afraid to say the winner is categorically the Genesis. it's a great car.

It's pretty common in reviews to use different phrasing and pronouns to avoid constantly saying the same name. In context, there was no ambiguity about who the winner was. Also, it's "alluded", not "eluded".
cdkx thanks for the correction. I'll try to remember that. English isn't my first language
the cadi looks a whole lot better than the Genesis
Blaze Flame The Cadillac looks like it's crying, just look at that appalling headlight design, and after this loss, it should be crying. There's a new top dog in town and it's the Genesis. The Genesis screams luxury and beauty. It has more presence on the road than the Cadi.
Jared Shelton Lmdao
Jared Shelton seems like ignorance to me
Jared Shelton the caddy definitely draws more eyes. The G90 is very Lexus LSish in that it’s understated perhaps too much
Jared Shelton caddy draws more attention because it doesn’t look like most cars not one car I seen looks like a caddy and the G90 looks like Toyota, Lexus , and other basic cars trying to look luxury but doesn’t turn out right.
Steve W I doubt they ever really gave somebody a car for only 99 a month! lol...good comment
The small print reads "Three thousand nine hundred and ninety nine dollars due at signing, with approved credit". Spelled out so that it may not be noticed as numbers would catch your eye!
Steve W but cadillacs are just Chevy's in drag 🤔
maybe if you're a 100 you think that. what chevy is the CT6 based on? none. get a clue, clueless
Love the front end of the Cadillac and the power.
I would take that Caddy all day everyday.
I totally agree with this review! The G90 excells in areas of luxury where the CT6 falls short! Such as having a smoother, more refined ride and more qualitative interior!
I have to admit that G90 is a better luxury than Caddy here; but I would take Caddy over lexus any day!
What, so you would take Caddy over Lexus any day because Genesis G90 is a better luxury than Caddy?
Bo Machine but it's tacky. That's the issue. It doesn't inspire
Hey. Just some feedback. Everything is fine and perfect, but I would like for the videos to be 8-15 mins long. I am always left for wanting more from you guys because y'all are awesome! Great vid.
I love the color on the Cadillac
I wonder how she said the ct6 lacks cohesiveness. The cadillac has more space, is lighter, more power, faster and, uses less fuel. The lack of standard features makes it more affordable for some. While people who spend more get an out this world factory sound system and, self driving feature. Yea it is obvious who the winner is.
I can't believe that we live in a world where a "Hyundai" can be compared to a Cadillac or any other block buster luxury brand. I feel that this review is quite biased. I would take the CT6 any day over the Genesis!
Caddy all the way.
Cadillac all day
It will be at the mechanics all day too for repairs too..sadly.
I agree. Cadillac has always stood out with style like no other.
Sounds like you're biased. Why bother doing a report. I've driven both. I'd choose the Cadillac overall. Different strokes for different folks.
Ct6 vs lincoln contenintal
no comparison, better performance, higher end material qualities, more advanced technology, and superior level of Luxury. the CT6 wins hands down.
why did everytime she said something just a lil neg about the hyundai it was followed by BUT... tells right away where there leaning
Cadillac all the way, not only does it look 100x's better, but It's an American car.
Joseph 'Murica
I love what genesis is doing now that it is, its own brand.
The caddy seems to be where the seven series used to be- sportiest in class.
Nissan TitanWarrior haha bet they said the same about lexus in the 90s wait 2 more years and come back then
Nissan TitanWarrior i praise for you my friend. totally agree with u. i am also a car snob. cadillac is much and has compete with mercedes benz and bmw for years
Wow the Koreans already outperforming us at what we originally pioneered.. sad
scharn horst i mean for their first year their doing good so far , lets see what they can come up with years down the line
The Germans originally pioneered true luxury with their benchmark S600... Americans only offered mass-production. get your facts straight
Americans have been doing luxury since the 1920s, get your facts straight
They had already built cars to those circumstances after the war.
germans invented everything. get real
Outstanding review and great presentation style. Really enjoyed it - informative and entertaining. Thanks very much for posting.
honestly fantastic reviews! Thank you for giving specific examples. So many reviewers leave important details out. Great work Jodi!
Great video, but I found myself distracted when I realized that you filmed this on the same road that I jog on every morning! Cheers from Toronto!
Pretty pictures mean very little if the person you are on the inside is actually rotten to the bone--- *****.
G90 win!
CT6 is a competitor against G80~~
Amanti아만티 Jesus you’re an idiot
I have this model Genesis and love it - replaced my LS460, and my S-550 before that and aren't looking back. Great quick review, BTW.
-DriveAndBeDriven
"The Quest To Record The Best!"
DriveAndBeDriven your everywhere desperate for views
DriveAndBeDriven badges matter, sorry hyundai, i meant..."genesis"
Juan Carlos G Roman Well then my apologies Chevy, oops I mean "Cadillac".
That Genesis is no match for the Cadillac, she is just supporting her people who built the Hyundai to give them credit.
Great review.
It seems as if Genesis is causing some cognitive dissonance. Love it!
Thank you, very informative and comprehensive.
This was actually a good review.
Tip Top not
I like that the Genesis offers a v8 in there flagship, like the big cars of old.
Freddie Causey But the car still falls short & does not have a true name. Buying one is like buying a Dodge.
Tino Miller ?
You dont need a V-8 when the car is lighter than a CTS, 5-series, and E-class. Its about efficiency and power to weight ratio. And this CT6 is killing it.
I just noticed the light at the bottom of the g90 is the same on the newer sonatas
And also i really enjoy her reviews.👍🏽
g90 all the way
Only overly proud, ultra nationalistic Koreans would take the Genesis over the Caddy
Nope, I disagree with you "averagejoe." Objectively speaking, Genesis outdoes the Cadillac.
lol then you can also say "Only overly proud, ultra nationalistic Americans would take the Caddy over the Genesis" That's just stupid.
99CCFF 756e6b6e6f776e65786961 647072746c646b Totally agree with you.
Yep,no Crapdillac for me.
the winner is Cadillac!!! so clear
No!!!
YEZzz!!! ^^KOREABOoo^^^
LOL
Umm... I guess that's not what you meant to say. Actually, Genesis is the winner.
for those who say the G90 is better....
If you want a nice large car without rear seat controls, you got the CTS/G80 so I'm surprised they didn't do more to make the CT6 feel more like a limo.
whats the name of the music playing in the background ?
Mohd Asim Durade- Sand Storm
A lot of hate for the Cadillac & I don’t know why. Such a gorgeous car.
The G90 stomps the CT6 on interior space, seat design and interior trimmings.
G90 needs a digital dash, panoramic roof & full LED lights.
It has full LED Lighting with interior mood lights. I agree about the Panoramic roof question the need for full digital display but hay the markets is going that way.
I don't know...if you're throwing down $65-$70 thousand doesn't that automatically get you a spot in the car snob club?
Good point
Cadillac 🤔🤔
Genesis G90 👍🏻💪🏻
Cadillac has made all of their newer sedans driving dynamics tune for track driving. Cadillac wanted to be the American BMW!
better that than being a geriatric chasing Relic like Lincoln
I get both cars one for that driver car & one for that long drive for pampering
yo Dan Ilika! How are these shaky car to car shots making the cut! -Yuri ;-)
A very vague review/comparison. For instance the reviewer said that the "experience" in the ct6 is not "cohesive" but did not bother to explain
Recalls on that 3.3 turbo a Genesis G80 with that motor only had 9k miles in it was smoking and leaking radiator fluid really dont like Cadillac but this particular one has me thinking about getting one
What about the Genesis V8?
One problem with the Genesis G90 is the back seat, and cars in this class are often carrying adults in the back. Of 14 full-sized cars I checked, the G90 is 10th in rear-seat headroom...and 14th in rear-seat leg room. (Sadly, the new Lincoln Continental came in last in rear-seat headroom.)
My first time in a Genesis I was like What is this, every Genesis is worth 35 - 50k more than cost and comes with 10 year warranty.
Cadillac, the name alone speaks for itself.
She doesn't have a clue Cadillac has now become the standard of the world and g90 is judged invited. U should have represented Cadillac as the standard and the G90 a possible competitor to be accepted as a standard like Cadillac Mercedes abs even Lexus and BMW mean look at the legendary comparos motorways 93 luxury car shoot out
Makes don't mean shit
Genesis at the end of the day is still a Hyundai which really is a throw-away car. You buy them to the end of the warrantee and drop it in the used car market, BMW, MB and KIA are all the same.
does the g90 have air matic like the benz or air suspensions ?
Dato Temi The G90 uses electronically adjustable steel spring suspension. No air involved.
I prefer Cadillac
Biased video, all of the way!
People complained when Cadillac had the soft ride and was not as sharp as the Europeans. And now that Cadillac is a better car dynamically than the Europeans, people still complain. Go figure!!
Does anyone know who made the audio track starting at 32 seconds into the video?
Some are good for the first 2 years. Others are good way after 5 years. Thanks Genesis.. Im in a g80 will upgrade to the g90 next.
I am a certified Genesis sales consultant a "GXM". I am confident competitors in this segment should be extremely nervous!
The Caddy CT6 is so fucking amazing.
I would go g90.
What's a trurbo?
It's the Korean word for Turbo ;) Good eye!
As a Korean, I can confirm this.
Michael Lee 털보 actually means a hairy person
PumpUPdaBase I know I was kidding.
n0b0dy_ep1c v
Advanced Safety features as standard ! 💯👍🏽 Genesis G90 !
i am not against her but where is Craig Cole?
i miss his funny reviews
Manju Nath he does curbed.
I am against her. I don't think she knows what she is talking about.
Cadillac looks so nice.👍
Cadillac caught up a few years ago now there 2 sport sedans are excellent
Genesis G90 is already outselling
- BMW 6 series
- AUDI A8
- LEXUS LS
This year in the U.S.
Guess not as many badge snobs as many have thought.
For me I like the Front and side view along with the interior on the Genesis. I like the front, side, and Back view along with the interior on the Cadillac. It’s just a matter of opinion :)
When was Cadillac a benchmark?
The g90 comes with a 5.0 you should've said that
Cadillac for me👍🏿
C'mon man. Let go of the past and embrace quality..lol.
Many rich people and those with high social status in Korea drives this car, along with Kia K900. It's highly regarded for its comfortability, silentness, and its luxurious space. Personally, I think it's whole lot better than Lexus LS, Cadillac CT6, or Audi A8.
