    I'm enjoying your trip! It was great that you got to drive to Moraine Lake, as it was just announced a few weeks ago that the road to Moraine Lake will be permanently closed to visitor traffic and the only way in is via shuttle bus, due to the volume of vehicles. As a local to the area (Calgary), we don't really even consider going there because of the frustrations accompanying all of the traffic in summer, even on the bike. Keep up the entertaining content, I know it's probably a lot of work, but us viewers appreciate it!

    now i have to keep checking my notification for the next one....i thought the flower on marisa"s bag was a real one but it doesn't weather with time...no drone footage on this one but the go pro 360 did a good job

    • @2UpAndOverloaded
      @2UpAndOverloaded  Год назад +2

      We were told that we could be fined up to 25k dollars for flying drones in the National Parks... especially with all of the firefighter's surveillance helicopters flying around. It's a bummer because it was such an awesome landscape!
      Marisa's flower is fake, I bought it for her in Alaska to replace one that I gave her in South America that was pinned to her backpack for 90k miles. The sun had bleached out the old one, so I replaced it!
      Thanks for tuning in!

    Thanks for the memories…we used to live in BC in the 1980’s , we couldn’t wait to go to Banff, Jasper , MoraineLake and Lake Louise for camping and skiing, back then there was a lot of people , but not as many as today, the Athabasca glacier was almost touching the highway, 2017 was the last time i was in Banff and couldn’t believe the changes and the amount of people 😮 Regardless i still love the area and thanks for your nice video/documentary 😊😎

      Thanks for riding along with us! We have certainly found that some of our favorite spots are attracting more and more tourists. We are touring as well, so we can’t complain. I’m sure it will just get progressively more populated every year.

    Love the Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff area. We were up there in June so we missed the fires just had the rain and cold. Still think the Parkway ride down to Banff is one of the best rides anywhere.

    Quite the contrast coming down the parkway and landing in LL mid day. Overrun with people in the summer. To see it with some space you need to plan for a 7am arrival and be out by 9am. Beautiful but quite crowded in the summer, we tend to go in the shoulder seasons.

    Another beautiful video!
    The dramatic music is perfect.
    I think I saw the same goats on my last trip down.
    Okay, maybe not the same but they must be related because they look the same.
    Riding through smoke is not pleasant but you made it better by enjoying the surreal setting it gave the land.
    We went swimming in Radium Hot Springs and enjoyed the stop.
    I have a thought for you, how about a special April Fools day video combining outtakes and fails?
    Ride on!

      @2UpAndOverloaded  Год назад

      Hi JagLite48 and thanks for the comment! Haha, that would be a funny April Fool's video and a good idea. Unfortunately, most of our outtakes are in our interview sections of our videos, and because it's shot in 4k and takes up tons of storage, we delete that footage. But it's a great idea, and I'll see if there's some other way...
      And who knows... Maybe you did see those same goats! Thanks again for chiming in!!

    Ahh yes, Hinton. In my Alaska trip 2016, I stayed the night before in the park. My two-man tent, in the rain, didn't function well so the next day I stopped at the WalMart in Hinton and bought a four-man tent. Best investment ever! Probably spent 150 nights in that tent moto-camping. Just "retired" it a few months ago when the zippers wore out. Think its first night was in the same RV park that you used though. Loving your trip. ?? What the heck is the flower always visible over Marisa's right shoulder? Can't be real or it wouldn't have survived all the miles.

      lol. I bought Marisa a fake flower in Alaska. I did the same in South America that she had pinned to her backpack for 90k miles. The sun had bleached it white, so I got her another one!

    Not surprised Jasper was on fire. When heading west through the Park, looking up to the mountainside on the left you will see vast stretches of "red" colored pine trees. These are dead trees caused by an ongoing infestation of mountain pine beetles, which have thrived with mild winters and warm, dry summers. You can see large patches of "red" forest all through the interior of B.C as well. All it would take is a lightening strike to set-off a massive inferno.
    This pine beetle is making it's way eastward through the Boreal forest. It will take a very cold winter of sustained temperatures to kill them off, so far that hasn't happened.
