This one Megatron does a lot of damage and this time is the one who kills glitchy Sentinal which in Dark of the Moon he does most of the damage but it was Optimus who killed the former version of glitchy Sentinal Prime.
This was so damn satisfying to watch. A false prime finally getting his comeuppance and the look of terror on his face as he faded to gun metal gray. Also because Sentinel honestly gave me Homelander vibes in the movie, not that I’m complaining in watching D16 (Megatron) permanently log him out of Minecraft
In the IDW comics, Zeta Prime had a similar look on his face when Megatron blew his head off with his fusion cannon. Don’t feel bad though. IDW Zeta was a corrupt scumbag as much as Sentinel was in this film. Hell, he may’ve been even worse. Whereas Sentinel was forcing Cybertronians to mine for Energon, Zeta was forcibly taking Energon from within Cybertronians themselves.
@@Laserbeak316 I mean Sentinel was also stealing T-Cogs from newly born Cybertronians to force them into the path of miners, and gave the Energon to the Quintessons, while allowing them to dominate Cybertron's surface. So is Zeta that much worse?
@@egbertmilton4003 yes because despite everything he did, Sentinel ultimately still had to serve the Quintessons. IDW Zeta Prime ruled over Cybertron like a zealot. Just before the Great War broke out, he would ruthlessly stamp out any sign of Decepticon activity. Then go as far as associating any and all Cybertronians that lived in districts where Decepticon activity was reported to be Decepticons themselves. If that weren’t bad enough, he’d then subject all those he captured to a weapon known as a Vamparc Ribbon, which is powered by draining a Cybertronian of their own Energon. He’d even go as far as sending Orion Pax and his Autobot team (who were police officers in this continuity) after a particular Decepticon terror cell in the city of Nyon and leaked that information to the insurgents in hopes that Orion and his team would fail and be killed. Giving Zeta all the ample pretext he needed to invade Nyon and arrest all those who lived there. Thus giving him more energy for his Vamparc Ribbon to use in the growing battle against the Decepticons that threatened his reign as ruler of Cybertron. So yeah, IDW Zeta was even worse than Sentinel in this film. Whereas Sentinel used citizens to mine Energon that he would then give to the Quintessons, Zeta was literally taking Energon from the citizens themselves and then using it to maintain his own twisted rule over the planet.
Personally, I think they should have kept Sentinel alive when Orion showed up as Optimus Prime. Really had karma rubbed into his face when he realizes that a ‘lowly miner’ was given the Matrix of Leadership and not him.
My view is that Sentinel shouldn't have died anyway. Honestly there was no point by that stage and his life could have been even more worse. Even with the infinite energon, they could have kept Sentinel working in the mines for the rest of his life without respite like he did to the other miners.

It would’ve been awesome to see the reaction to pulling the matrix of leadership, but I think Megatron being given his moment with no interruptions is also very fitting.
I don’t blame D-16 for killing Sentinel after all he saw Sentinel kill Megatronus the Prime he worshipped in Alpha’s hologram story and Sentinel spited D-16 by revealing that he stole Megatronus’s T-Cog and the fact Sentinel tortured D-16 by burning Megatronus’s symbol Orion gave him into his chest. All of that is what lead to D-16 to become evil due to that fact he was lied and betrayed. And he would name himself Megatron after his fallen real hero. Took Megatronus’s T-Cog and used Megatronus’s symbol to create the Decepticon logo. So Megatron did average the Primes but he was focusing on avenging Megatronus and himself.

There's a weird parallel between transformers one and the g1 cartoon. In tf one, megatron was insulted by sentinel prome by having his chest scribbled on with megatronus's face. Megatron would use this as reference for the Decepticon logo. In a way it became a symbol of defiance. In the g1 cartoon, the autobot logo was supposed to mark anyone with it as a slave to the quintessons, a consumer good. However, the autobots would use this logo as their own symbol of defiance, reinterpreting it as a symbol of their right to self determination.
The reason Optimus chose to stand against Megatron is the same reason Kratos killed Baldur at the end of God of War 4. Once Megatron crossed that line and executed Sentinel, he wasn’t going to stop.
