Glad you enjoyed it. and will do. been working away for a couple of years to prepare the online school. Finally, it'll be launched in less than 2 weeks. www.mindfulwingchun.online
Hi Nima, thanks for your sharing. I've practiced this kind of relaxation for a while and I can feel the "raise spine" while relaxation. But what's the next step? How can I generate the power, esp. Lim Lik from that? Thanks again.
Continue practicing all the forms and try to maintain that efforless state in all movements including when taking incoming force (i.e. in Chisau, Pad work and technique). At the highest level you will be able to maintain that relaxed and decompressed state in the joints even when performing the heavy Pole form :) however there is not many people in the world that are at that level (including myself), cheers, Nima
Sifu Nima, would the idea of joint decompression be similar to releasing the weight of the body? Say taking the shoulder as an example. If you release the weight of the arm to the earth, it further separates the shoulder joint making a larger "gap". When this is applied through the whole body, power can be released. Kind of like the ability to release your joints determines your ability to release power. Using this form of relaxation causes all the joints to separate just slightly as the weight of them pulls them apart naturally while you use the bare minimum effort necessary to hold the shape of your posture. Wondering if the idea is the same. When I achieve this I think of the weight of the body and as though my movements are based on moving weight rather than the body itself. Increases speed and power a lot.
Hey man. Yes you could certainly explain it like that. By opening the joints we are able to internally link the body together and therefore we are able to utilize our mass. Great to hear you are feeling such things! Keep it up!!!
Hi Nima. Do I understand it right: Relaxation is not the goal, the goal is to free your joints, and in order to do that you need to relax the muscles around the joints, in order to move them freely?. I d love to hear from you :) Greetings
Yes, you could say that the aim is for all the joints to decompress and becoming free moving. however this is not possible without a deep level of relaxation. but i think this is a good way to think about it because some people that only think about 'relaxing' actually end up compressing the joints... If by relaxing you feel lightness, spaciousness and freedom of movement in the joints then you are surely on the right track :)
Try to feel your entire body. the muscles and the joints. dont 'think' about anything, rather be totally present and mindful about whats going on inside the body. this will calm the thoughts and promote mindfulness which will lead to being able to connect internally with your own body and gradually relax to a deep level.
Maybe calling it just relaxation is what is confusing. Is the goal to be relaxed or to get your body to react differently than we are used to? Relaxation is how some people get there but it might not be the only way. Do all masters talk about this in the exact same way or are there different techniques among Wing Chun practitioners?
Yeah exactly. What does relaxation even mean. It has a different meaning to different people. Many ppl say relax, even in boxing or bjj a good teacher will tell their students to relax. Thats why I use the term "joint decompression" or spaciousness in the joint etc. And no, CST was very unique in his way and there were no other Wing Chun teacher that did what he taught (not in the Ip MAn lineage nor in other lineages from China). Thats why some ppl accused him of teaching Taiji :)
thanks for all your time I have understood quite a lot of the teaching but the information you gave is now an eye opener thanks for the video
My pleasure man. Very happy to hear that so many people are appreciating and benefiting from our efforts to share Master Chu's teaching!
Great video! Keep it up!

The video started to mute at ard 6:00. Would u mind post the original video with the sound clip so that I can listen a bit more of wt 師公say?thx:)
Hi, unfortunately the reason that it mutes is because the battery of the microphone ran out. 😅
Thank you for sharing! Are you able to unmute GM Chu Song Tin's vocal instruction on feeling the back?
Hi Ken, Sorry but it wasn't muted. The battery for the microphone has run out which was unfortunate.
Aww... too bad. Thanks again!

Hi, when performing Siu Lim Tao, what do you have in your mind to stay relax?
