Im am such a, admittedly, fenix fan boy. Love this plane. So much so that I just completed an a320 inspired home cockpit. Ive already spent hundreds of hours in the fenix, and expect that to continue in the future.
Nice review of the new fix's I notice at 4:59 that you NAV light are working for some reason I cant see NAV lights on my setup. I see all the other external lights tho. Any thought's as to why this is happening? Regards and keep up the good work.
Hi Gavin, hope you well!! Congratulations on 40K sub!!! Your videos are truly amazing as always! Quick question for you: the announcements in the Fenix are brilliant (especially the Easyjet ones). However it seems that I am only able to hear them while I am inside the cockpit. As soon as I get into wing views, I can't hear them at all, would you have any idea why that would be at all?
Had many of the problems you mentioned, but all is now OK, except when landing and turning auto pilot off, I get really bad stutters. Did the same flight with Auto Land and perfect. It seems as soon as I disengage the AP, the aircraft goes into meltdown. I have no control over it. Something I think will correct itself hopefully.
good to know that I wasn't the only one with the AP issue, I will check if that is now working properly next flight, I had issues after the update with my TCA Captain Airbus thrust levers, I have checked the driver version, done config on mcdu but still having that issue, I could be the only one? but it is nevertheless good to see Fenix on top of the issues being reported.
I’m just getting started with fenix just bought it yesterday along with MSFS so I’m still learning and really need help with setting up camer views I’m at a loss
The biggest fix for my part (and I'm surprised nobody mentioned) was the removal of the blue outline on the buttons when you have LOCKED mode on the accessibility menu. It is far more natural for me to pull the dials on the FCU with a right mouse click and push them in with a center mouse click rather than trying to aim just above or below, wait for the cursor to change and then apply the action. That was all ruined with the blueish tint on the targeted button after the V2 but it is now fixed! A big thank you to the FENIX team!! Also the viewing angle of both EFBs was changed to a more direct view than the previous lower left angled view. Again a big THANK YOU to the Fenix team that reads the minds of its customers ;)
@@TruBluLew23On the controls menu, under the "Mouse" controls, assign the mouse mid-click to the secondary action and the mouse right-click to the tertiary action. Every time you hover the cursor anywhere over the FCU dials, when you click the right button you "pull" them out and when you click the centre button you "push" them in. You can have them the other way around or any combination it feels more natural to you. You can still rotate them with the center dial. The magic of it is that you don't have to aim exactly up or down and the cursor remains the little pointy hand all the time. This only works with the Cockpit Interaction System in the Accessibility Menu set to LOCK instead of LEGACY.
@@stefstaf thanks for this! I loved the legacy controls but my biggest issue was whenever there was slight shifts to the plane due to wind, etc., the arrow would disappear and reappear when changing my altitude. This is going to make it so much easier!
There is also a mod, although it is not available on flightsim to anymore, it's called "Blue Highlight Removal". Just google it, you will find it. It removes the blue highlight for all aircraft. Honestly, it is these little things that I wish Asobo would add, just like an aircraft favourite filter. Such small things, which are (I imagine) comparatively easy to implement, but make a big difference for the experience.
After update I got white screens which was not the case with previous update. On second reload screens were not white but nothing works in aircraft, no battery no APU even EFB also broken. With previous update I didn’t have any prob but with this update my aircraft is completely dead.
It is a great product that's for sure. Probably the best 60 pounds I've spend. Having said that, Fenix still has a lot of work to do with their software client. It just feels clunky with frequent CTDs. Liveries manager the same. Even if I try to resize the window, CTD. I believe they need to spend some effort to rebuild their software clients properly. Merge them (if possible) to have only one client running both product settings and liveries, and change their licensing model in such as way that I don't have to run it in the background every time I use MSFS. If I first start the Fenix software and then start MSFS, the simulator will enter a weird state that it doesn't recognize my profile. Then recently I had a weird bug, when the screens of the A320 didn't show anything and I had to do a complete restart of MSFS to get that fixed. Excellent product, but alas, very clunky software. I believe they'll get around to it though. I follow them on discord and they have a really good and professional support in place.
Updated and i still get some liveries not working with the app. Default liveries and the liveries made by Walker airlines work but the Javiation liveries don't work for me. The app is running but it still doesn't connect to the plane even after the update.
Gavin, as someone who flies both regularly, how do you find the comparison between the Fenix and the Flybywire on approach? I find the Flybywire to be quite responsive to sidestick inputs all the way down to the ground, where I find the Fenix to be very sluggish and need much more severe inputs. Also as someone new to Fenix, having bought it ready for the Block2 update, I was hugely disappointed to find that my PC was too slow to run it as default configured. I'm on a 3600x with 32GB of RAM and a 2060 Super. Fine in the FBW, but I was well below 10fps in the Fenix and it was uncontrollable until I switched the rendering of internal co tools to the CPU renderer. Now with graphic detail turned down, I get smooth performance again. Hopefully the option to have 4k rather than 8k textures will also help, so I will update.
I’m still having some issues with the Simbrief integration, the stars and waypoints don’t appear on the MCDU of the Fenix A320, even when the secondary flight plan is activated, I have tried installing the Fenix as a fresh install however the problem remains. I flew the FlyByWire and did not have any issues. Hope you can help me fix this issue, thank you.
i dont know but the first 5-10 minutes into the flight deck or external view my fps are quite low and then after some time everything is smooth inside and outside. I have no idea if it’s the fenix or maybe the msfs. But I actually never had this kind of „problem“.
guys i realy need help my fenix after updated has a bug a/thr is on all the time cant switch off any idea ??even fenix cant help i reinstall few time still same
Since the V2 update, the PFD and MFD, with or without external displays, are laggy at a point that take-offs and landings are almost impossible to achieve correctly. This new update did not fix that, and I also had bugs where at startup, the plane is litterally in the ground before start (with default sceneries, ie PHNL for instance)... So even if I used to love that plane, it's a no-fly now, and I am using B787-900 or any PMDG B737 where I have absolutely no issues.
Whilst it's great that these various bugs have been fixed, it's disappointing that liveries from third parties seem to not be working - again. I get it that the external textures have been changed, which would affect liveries, but it's super annoying that 80% of my newly updated and downloaded liveries now have to go to the bin and be downloaded all over again . . . The creators must be spitting chips . . .
I can't hear any cabin fans after this update. I was so happy B2 brought some new cabin ambient sounds, but now they seem to be removed. Why? I can barely hear the packs in the cabin, and when the APU is off, it's just literal silence. I've also noticed that I can hear the APU start and running in the cockpit when the FL door is opened, despite the cockpit being shut. I really appreciate the work they've done to make the addon more reliable and stable, but I don't understand the reason for the audio tweaks.
I like the update. Fixed a couple of issues for me. I had the AP and the Retard problem once or twice. However, is anyone else having to task manager out of FS2020 to exit to desktop? For me it seems to be related to the Fenix since it doesn’t happen when using other aircraft.
Hi Gavin--fabulous channel! Upgraded--now unable to get pop out screens--pfd/mfd/mcdu The cockpit flashes on right alt-left mouse but cannot locate the pop out screens Would appreciate your guidance

All good here so far....excellent job. Frames slightly better as well.

Thank you Gavin !
Thank you very much for the video sir 👍
Speaking for myself after this update it has been doing great but at first I experienced most of the issues you described
After this update I’ve found myself loving this plane. I just hope they allow it to go faster than x2 sim rate in a future update
Thank you!
I finally purchased the plane. I can't believe I waited this long.
Brilliant plane 👍

That's just a realism feature. You can't hear them irl outside the aircraft 😉
@@Easyjetsimpilot Oh I see I guess we are supposed to be pilots not passengers that's true 🤣thanks for that
You dont need to uninstall liveries ..just update them with update button (2 arrows ) as mentioned on discord .

Seems to work fine on my end!

I’ve had problems steering V2. Had to abort my last couple of flight attempts.
now hoping for some soundpacks on flightsim to get a little bit more real live feeling in the plane

This is actually really smart! How do you use the right and center clicks? Is it through the flight sim options like normal?

Easyjet dont have IAEs 😉
I hope so, for me is not flightable at all, while the PMDG 737 is at 45 fps super smooth.

@MustafaGT It's the only plane I have an issue with.
I had to select CPU rendering in the Fenix app, and eventually set the High priority on the fenix processes to fix that.

True
Because the packs were way too loud and was unrealistic. It also kinda overrides the engine sounds
@majoraviatior1611 Imo they were fine. The engines were too quiet. Even if they were a bit too loud, at least they were there lol
The liveries doesnt has a cockpit!
I came across this too! I reinstalled and it made no difference. So now need to uninstall all the liveries again
Unfortunately I refuse to play MSFS after they sneaked in a massive LOD reduction in order to improve performance.
