- This is the same clip that I have uploaded before, albeit in better quality this time.
The News Hour started on GMTV in 1994, it lost it's identity in 2009 as the programme went back to GMTV, the seperate programme will be axed mid 2010 as part of a cost cutting measure by ITV.
Whoever did those news titles was probably a big fan of The Day Today and Brass Eye.
"Erosion causes Devonshire town to float into space... Sacked chimney sweep pumps boss full of mayonnaise... and singing trees are discovered in venezuela by lost missionary. Those are the headlines.... god I wish they weren't." XD
GMTV News could not be bothered to provide a hard news agenda source, so they were forced to contract the first hour of news to Reuters, as the ITC were threatening them with licence revoke if they did not improve their news.
These GMTV Newshour Titles also feature in the movie The Queen
Am i The only who thinks that this music is similar to TV3 news Ireland theme (1998 - 2001) ?
TV3 was a different tune but similar. News Hour tune was the same since 1994, 4 years before the start of TV3
@@johnking5174 Interestingly enough, both the TV3 News Ireland Theme (1998 - 2001) and the Newshour Theme were both composed by Tom Blades.

By this point even the set was basically a like for like redecorated copy of TVam. Of all the franchise changes post 1992 the breakfast one was the most pointless.
The fact GMTV resorted to TV-am style presentation after 3 months on air is testament to that point. Ironically GMTV’s licence payments to the ITC were lowered to the point that TV-am had offered for the licence. I guess the positives of GMTV were being operated from LWT and having Disney on board.

@wesleycracknell1623 when itv night time handover to GMTV and they said good morning. I remember hearing the newshour theme when i was younger and couldn't sleep.
