Quite - if just one of those studio lights shook loose and fell on you it could easily kill. They're supposed to be secured with a chain as well at attached to the rail, but even so. Even a mic boom could give you a nasty smack. Easy for a comedian to stand there and get a cheap laugh about it (easier than writing any material, anyway) Also easy to say after the event it wasn't serious, but it's best to take cover before it becomes serious than afterwards...

Ultimately, do you think the area you’re in can stay standing during the 10-30 seconds one usually lasts and do drills for all natural disasters so that if they happen, you have muscle memory. It wasn’t a natural disaster, but during 9/11 there had been a soldier working for one of the businesses in the Trade buildings and he forced everyone to go through drills because he knew someone would eventually attack the Trade Center and he successful. He was the only one who didn’t survive because he went back to try and save others, but everyone he forced to do those drills was able to leave calmly and safely and I believe with no injuries.

Buildings are secure (those which were not, guess what? already fell down) and there are strict building code regulations.
