What an amazing thing you guys did, Peters memory will live on through all these restored cabs! Im sure he would be happy that his cabs are going to collectors who will restore them with passion. Thanks for sharing this Alex!
Hi, I know this comment is late coming but I’m Petes daughter, I’m sorry I didn’t get to meet you guys, I just didn’t have the heart to be there at the time you were here as I know how much my dads collection meant to him. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came up here to rescue my dads life’s work, everyone in the community made this process the easiest it could have been and it honestly makes me so happy to see what respect has been shown not only to the collection but also for my dad. His passion for games will be the biggest thing I remember about him and I am very much the same way as he was only I don’t have the electronic skills he did so I stick to software! Watching this video made me so very happy, you did a good thing for us and the memory of my dad.
zsianz1 awww thank you so much for your heart felt comment. I really hope we gave your father the respect he was due. Making this video was the hardest video I’ve ever had to make and seeing you/his daughter make such lovely comment would make me and the community extremely proud. I think Peter would be very happy too,to see such passionate collectors save all his machines. All the best Alex
Sorry to hear about the passing away of your Dad. I didn't know him personally, but from what others have said he had a real passion for both his collection and helping others in the hobby. One of his old games (Space Harrier) has been putting a smile on the faces of kids and grown-up kids in my gamesroom for the past couple of years. If it wasn't for his efforts, the chances are this game would have been lost many moons ago. Best Regards - Chris.
Nintendo Arcade it must have been very weird for you and all the other guys who came, but as I wasn’t up to being there on the day I never really would have had this insight into how things went if you didn’t make this video, I know my dad would have been very happy with how your community handled everything, he used to talk about the forum often and I feel like he had good reason to feel like it was a special place. I love that his machines have his name on them now, that’s so lovely. Thank you once again, it’s not easy when a loved ones collection is sitting deteriorating and you don’t know where to start in sorting it out or getting it to the right people. And a personal thank you to you for making this video :)
reassembler oh my goodness Chris, how lovely of you to let me know that one of my dads machines is still being enjoyed and still being played :) he would absolutely love that! Thank you for telling me this and for your kind words, what a great feeling it is that part of his collection is still out there in the way it should be and not sat in our shed!! Hehe
This is excellent video. Definitely a bit tough to watch due to the sentiment and the family circumstances (and I could tell it was tough to intro and film) but you did a fantastic job. Very insightful and respectful of the situation at hand. You and your mates did good.
Great that you documented this Alex, a true piece of British arcade history. Very sad, but like has been said before, these cabs will be cherished again by the community. Would loved to have met Peter, sounded like a top bloke.
Let us know how that jukebox turns out. It has such a good retro aura about it and colour of it is absolutely fascinating. This is a harsh reality that we all need to realize as video game collectors. We all need to have a plan in place to know what we want to do with our video game collections. I do love the fact that all of these machines are going to people that are going to repair and play them how they were meant to be enjoyed. These machines are going to good loving homes and that is more important than any monetary value that these machines may retain.
Thanks for you kind words, I think we all need to look at what we own sometimes and just think ,"do I really need all this stuff" It's good for the soul and mind to have a clear out every so often. Thanks for watching dude.
Great channel bro! I can't believe Pete had sooooo much! Glad someone will appreciate these arcades and continue to put smiles on peoples faces. Honest people like you and your friends thanks to all of your efforts!
Sad, sad news. But it's wonderful that you guys went up there to help out. What a fine array of gems he collected over time. A legacy you guys have helped to remain intact and find their way into the right hands. Bet the family were thrilled for all your help :-)
Sad, but it was great that you guys managed to salvage the pig share of the collection, as like you say much longer stored in those conditions, they all would be just scrap. You guys done a good job saving some more arcade history. Nice job. That juke box is a thing of beauty.
Sad circumstances but very well captured Alex. I’m sure Paul’s wife was just as happy as he would have been to see the collection passed onto the hands of true arcade enthusiasts. Great video as always fella 👍🏻
Wow that was just something else to watch.. The things a man will gather during his life here is just pretty wild to see it from this different perspective thanks for sharing!
Anthony Durant yep and you can't take it with you. It's not about the amount of games that you do have but to have fun with the ones that you do have. Thanks for watching
Sad about the passing of Peter, but good that they are all going to homes where they will be looked after/restored etc and that the family ended up getting more than they would have originally. Really great video, awesome seeing some machines I have not seen for a while. Either of those Space Invaders cabinets would be ones I would love to have a dedicated original cabinet, that artwork really gives me a lot of nostalgia. But also some other great machines, will be good to see what gets restored etc.
I'm really glad that you folks are going to put stickers on the machines. A great legacy to have! I would love to have one of these shirts! Where can I get one??
I was just reading your blog the other day about this. A sad time for the family but you know they were happy to get it all sorted in one go. Never underestimate the power of the forums lol. Well done mate.
Great vid Alex. I did wonder if you took the camera up for this one. It's made me think a lot about my collection, and the impact it would have on my family should the worst happen. Mine would not know where to start.
It's had that effect on lots of people who watched or heard about it mate. Food for thought definitely Nothing wrong with a clear out every so often, good for the mind 😎👍
Man, this was quite a difficult watch. As you mentioned, this is something that will happen to many of us. It sure was a great thing you all did in acting so proactively to salvage the collection, especially given that, as you mentioned, it was likely all going to rot over the course of the following year.
Another great one......the Jukebox blew me away when you powered it on.....I would'nt have a problem with ABBA nor Rod Steward...both were great to there time....and still are :)
Arcade Collectors Europe hi Hannes The juke box I sold in the end to a collector in France. I've still got the space fever that I am restoring. Loads of universal in this video which Pete loved. Thanks for watching mate 😎👍
I would'nt ever have sold the Jukebox...it looked so great, a 50's one could'nt beat it. I would have boughta Universal upright in a hartbeat. Not that I would'nt love Cocktails, but the Universal belongs to the best looking uprights out there. :)
I debated on making my channel focused between two topics. Cars or my games. I chose to focus on my automotive adventures but dang man, makes me want to do arcade room tours here in the states. Cheers from Texas, I really enjoy watching your vids mate!
My girlfriend forwarded me this story from a news post online. I saw your good self helping out with the removals in some of the photos Alex. A sad story for sure but at least the cabs are now in good hands and won't degrade any further. RIP Peter!
Tony Temple is such a good writer I really enjoy his work. I'll keep you up dated all my restoration of all my machines from Petes place. Th thanks for watching.
Oh man, you did great, guys. I guess that wrecked playchoice got parted out? I would really happy to own one, even if I have to rebuild the cab myself.
That's a good thing you guys have done there, Alex. Both for the family and for the collection. I found this quite touching actually. Nice grab on the jukebox, that's awesome. And I'm a huge BBC Micro fan, so you can just load from an SD card can you?
Awesome vid Alex! Glad to see the machines and parts go to good homes. P.S. Are you going to be selling the Nintendo arcade shirt like your wearing in the vid?
Hi Daniel Your not the first person to ask about them so what I am going. To do is give you the file as it will be cheaper for you ok . What's your email buddy ?
I want to get into Nintendo arcade collecting but I don't know where to start does anyone have a list of Nintendo games to get at first and what are the ones worth ever getting
I must have 250 machines from the 80s inc early 80s fruities.... My wife will have fun when I go. 😮😢 I often thought what would happen. I'll make a note of this in my will so she knows what to do.
@@TheArcadeArchiveI'm more in to 80s fruities, but I've got a couple of gorfs, trons, invaders, joust, tempest, track field, Kong, ms pacman, Mr Do, millipede, fogger, defender, asteroids, pole position, now the mind is blank as I think what else is in there
Yea but it's got the message to a lot of people that one day your collection will have to be dealt with by your family. It's made slit of people think about he much they should own . Thanks for watching anyway mate 👍
RIP Peter Davis.
What an amazing collection of arcade machines.
Great to know that most of them were saved.
Amazing video Alex,well done
Anto H. Thanks dude

Thanks Nick it was very exhausting but well worth the effort by all.
Great video and great work by everyone involved. I cringed at 7m 30s when they wheel out the Field Goal upright and crashed into the cocktail!
Thanks Chris
Yea that was not space fever lol
Never mind it's getting stripped soon👍
Sad circumstances but very well captured Alex. I’m sure Paul’s wife was just as happy as he would have been to see the collection passed onto the hands of true arcade enthusiasts. Great video as always fella 👍🏻

Reminds me of when we auctioned dads vintage radio collection. Very sad, but goes back into the community.

Lol yea funny guy 😂
+Nintendo Arcade You should get The Buggles record for your jukebox
I debated on making my channel focused between two topics. Cars or my games. I chose to focus on my automotive adventures but dang man, makes me want to do arcade room tours here in the states. Cheers from Texas, I really enjoy watching your vids mate!
Tommy Mccoy you have to do a gaming channel buddy if you have the games, thanks for your comments mate 😎👍
Great story, handled with sensitivity mate. Nice video again.
Thank you mate,I found it extremely hard to record so your comments are warmly welcomed., Thanks mate 😃👍

The play choice literally disintegrated as we pulled it out 😔
What a pity. But finally, you guys could save the rest of these amazing games, good to know.
Thx for the reply!!
Missed this vid but I did get one of the cabs and it's now working and in my mate's pub :)
Ben Roscoe hope there making you money mate.
Thanks for watching 😘
quite the bitter sweet story and quite a collection of cabs, don't think I've ever seen a Lupin 3
It was a real mixture of games, some real classics some rare oddities.
Thanks for watching Joe
That made me quite sad, but also happy that they're getting new homes.
It is sad mate but the family were pleased in the end.
They got a nice lump sum and were happy with that.
Nintendo Arcade I'm glad, but it's just still makes me sad.
lupin III is the only dedicated cabinet i want with cosmo gang
Think it's the only one mate
That's a good thing you guys have done there, Alex. Both for the family and for the collection. I found this quite touching actually.
Nice grab on the jukebox, that's awesome. And I'm a huge BBC Micro fan, so you can just load from an SD card can you?
Oh, and great idea with the stickers, so Peter's legacy can live on through those cabs.
Hi Pete
Yea you can get the Sd card done quite cheaply and have all the games to down load.i am loving mine Starship command rules 😎👍
Nice!
Awesome vid Alex! Glad to see the machines and parts go to good homes. P.S. Are you going to be selling the Nintendo arcade shirt like your wearing in the vid?
Hi Daniel
Your not the first person to ask about them so what I am going. To do is give you the file as it will be cheaper for you ok .
What's your email buddy ?
+Nintendo Arcade aatooldaniel@att.net
Also is there a official name for the donkey kong and popeye type cabs or is it just referred to as Nintendo style cabs
Hey Nintendo Arcade!! Great video!! Bummer about that Playchoice 10 cabaret!!
Arcade Hollywood a real shame mate but we saved as many as we could.
Great idea to place a "Peter Davis" sticker on the games that will get restored.
wow thats alot of PCBs !
Yea and we left quite a few also.
I want to get into Nintendo arcade collecting but I don't know where to start does anyone have a list of Nintendo games to get at first and what are the ones worth ever getting
I have a list of games, what sort of era do you like before Mario or after ?
+Nintendo Arcade I'm looking for anything from sherif to later early 90's
+Greyson Deane well sheriff will be very hard to find as its ultra rare,I have a restored space firebird for sale?
+Nintendo Arcade also do you have recommendations for finding games that need restore that won't break the bank
Greyson Deane join Ukvac forum that's your best bet.
I must have 250 machines from the 80s inc early 80s fruities.... My wife will have fun when I go. 😮😢 I often thought what would happen. I'll make a note of this in my will so she knows what to do.

Feels creepy going through the guys stuff on camera. Hard to watch .

It's made slit of people think about he much they should own .
Thanks for watching anyway mate 👍
Find this quite sad to be honest :(
It is buddy,it is but everyone was happy in the end👍
Bitterweet video.
