I've seen people saying they experiment with milk temperature, lukewarm milk will make warmer froth and won't cool drink as much, colder milk out of the fridge will cool down your drink. Others were saying they pre-heat the cup, which is way to complex and you might as well get a professional manual machine for your situation :)
Do you know what the temperatures of a latte are? I like it extra hot. Can you adjust the temperatures? Or what is the temperature that the machine does?
Hi, what do you think of the grinding system on philips? We have one philips machine in our family and i noticed that delonghi is way quieter in terms of grinding the coffee beans than the philips one. Although we have the philips 2200 series but compared to the delonghi magnifica s, the philips has way too loud grinding system in my opinion. Thank you for your answer.
I wouldn't say there is a big difference, you would have to put both machines at least side by side in the same spot to really test it for your setup. In my case I don't recall grinder noise being an issue.
@ArtificialJetleg I went with 5400, coffee and taste is the same as lower specs models, my selling point was the profiles, so each family member has their profiles saved and doesn't need to remember to tweak the settings every time they make a cup
Hello, I just bought Philips 3200. I set the temperature to highest as per manual; however, milk coffees (latte and cappuccino) are not that hot. I don't want to warm my coffee in microwave. Any solution?
It's either you have high heat tolerance, using super cold milk or your machine is faulty 😀 I suggest you measure the drink temperature so you have a reference point to start investigating from
I read about this issue too but my medium setting is already too hot. I think I'm too used to the laid back temperatures of pour overs and Aeropress. Still playing with my settings as we speak!
Delonghi Dinamica one you review can make double shot at once but Philips you need to make two single shots. Delonghi can produce much strong espresso with doppio plus option. That is big plus for me.
That's not true, my 5000 series philips has double shot setting, and it has extra shot function to make it extra strong as well. However, if you take only espresso, then there are better barista style machines for that
Question that i have that i cant find anywhere, is there a way to control the milk, for example i like my milk steemed but not frothy. Ive searched everywhere but haven't gotten an answer. Thanks in advance!!!!!!
Good video! What do you think of the quality of espresso and coffee between the 2? I just happen to be in the market for one on Black Friday. I’m between the Magnifica Evo and the lattego 4300.
The coffee taste on the output is the same, at least to my taste buds. I tried the same beans, did similar grind settings and honestly I can't feel the difference. One thing I noticed about the brew group, on dinamica it spits out pucks almost dry (which is a good thing) while on Philips pucks are moist. So technically brew group on Dinamica has better pressure on it, but when it comes to the taste - no difference. So I decided to go with ease of maintenance for lattes and picked Philips. Please use one of our affiliated links to buy one, helps us run the channel at no cost to you!
I like your countertops and backsplash and definitely recognize what they are , good taste & nice choice . I was wondering if you are available to review or compare Delonghi Eletta Explor with one of the newest Filips models ?
I bought the 5400 Philips. The first one lasted 2 days and stopped working. I received a 2nd one and it didn't work at all. Maybe the 3200 is a better machine but they both look pretty much the same.
Entire philips lineup are the same, the brew component are identical. The only difference is the number of drinks they are programmed to make. I currently have 5400 and it's been working for 2 years straight now
Hi, Roman Is there any differences between Saeco And Philips machine. If we compare philips 5400 and Saeco GranArome, Which machine can make better espresso or milk froth ?
@sovrano111 hey! I cannot say much about Saeco as I haven't tried it, but Philips owns it and if you watch Saeco machine maintenance video it shows that the brew group mechanism is the exact same brew group you get with Philips machines. So I would assume coffee is identical. The only thing I would have hard time guessing is the milk froth as it uses similar approach to what Delonghi has. Here is the video I mentioned: ruclips.net/video/IXZ9oBla--M/видео.htmlsi=fdxYUdCqs-u-1EFE
I’m looking for a bean to cup machine. I came across to see Philips Lattego vs Delonghi Magnifica S. Price is quite different between the two models. Normally I’d drink Americano, however latte from time to time. Would you still recommend Lattego?
@nitiwadeechanasongkram3480 anything to do with milk is easier to clean with Philips LatteGo. So for me being one lazy ass when it comes to dishes and cleaning overall, I kept the Philips machine, though I liked milk froth better on the Delonghi. Even for occasional milk drinks, I think Delonghi managed to overengineer the milk mechanism
@isaacmubanda3753 I'd say no, these are made for home use or I'd rather say not fast paced environment. Can it be used? Of course, but there are better options
@isaacmubanda3753 I never dealt with it, I'd say look into commercial grade machines something similar but smaller like they in coffee shops. Main reason why this is a bad idea in my opinion to use these is the cleaning. These will take a lot of time to maintain. I'd rather get something like this for a coffee shop and do cleaning on a spot than deal with any of these automatic ones as they will get messy.
I tried coffee from one of these and its awesome, I'd say almost pro level and would be easier for you to maintain and keep clean in shop environment. Only now you would need to know the coffee combos for all the lattes, americanos, flat whites, cappuchinos etc.
It's provided in the set. Look up Philips/Saeco grease HD5061. Here is the manual: saeco.com/care/faq/How-to-lubricate-the-brew-group-of-my-Saeco-Espresso-Machine/

Seeing many reviews of Philips vs DeLonghi I miss a lot of info here, that says in favour of DeLonghi. Philips is inferior in almost every way but user interface. DeLonghi has larger coffee puck, better grinder, better coffee extraction, much better silky milk, cold extraction... sorry, but Philips is no match at all. For better quality with Philips you should grab a Saeco Xelsis series, but even that at double price.. not sure if it matches DeLonghies.
@igorsajn6246 how is saeco different? It's the same machine inside as Philips, just different branding. All info you mentioned about Delonghi is in the video. @ Philips branded low and medium coffee machines with Philips brand while kept Saeco brand for top tier machines. I guess it's all Saeco under the hood. And it's not just the milk that is different, also coffee. Philips takes almost half less coffee into one portion, so intensity is much lower then with DeLonghi. But agree the Philips' milk mug is smaller, more convenient and easier to wash and store. But that can hardly be the decisive factor for a new machine. As isn't a better UI and mobile app. And yes - myself am more of a do-it-manually (esp. milk froth) guy.
