I’d love to get a Cami sculpt ; thinking about looking for one at the Kansas doll show in a couple of months 😃😃😃. Oh no, I love my Maddie, her name is Catherine 😊 Oh gosh 😖😫😠 that happened to me once. I replaced everything I could- body, stuffing, glass beads. I washed the vinyl with baby wash and ,, get this- bathroom cleaner and let it soak for 3 days. I had tried what you did and it didn’t work. But this did. Yes it was scary but I felt I didn’t have anything to loose! I had contacted the artist and she wouldn’t admit and got angry at me. Soooo scratch that. Anyway the smell was gone and I sold him because all that work “ De-bonded” me lol. Good luck. Depending on what you want to spend depends on quality, I have found. I’m planning on selling a majority of my collection, it has gotten too big!! lol 😆 I’ve said this several times and I couldn’t seem to do it 😜. I tell myself I’m gonna do it this time! Right I know what you mean how they have evolved Sooo much!! I have one from 2018 to present day! I’ve tried for a year to sell my FIRST silicone and you have to basically give it away because of how far they’ve come! Anyway glad you’re here. 💕🤗 Christy
Hi Christy, thank you for sharing that. ❤️ I may try bathroom cleaner. Do you remember what exactly you used? I would love to go to a doll show. I had planned to go to the Yophi doll show in Orlando last year and changed my mind after I had bought so many dolls. I knew I couldn’t go to a doll show without wanting to buy and it was so close to Christmas. I just didn’t need to buy another baby then. You know every collector I have ever known that has a Maddie just loves it. I really got her mainly for that reason. I wanted to see if I would feel the same way. It’s very strange though because she is the baby in my nursery that I have the least bond with. One reason I took her off of EBay is I noticed she has paint rub on her fingers and the side of one hand. It just makes me sick. She is very soft and smooth so I imagine the paint just has nothing to hold on to or else she wasn’t varnished well. I really don’t know. I have only had her 8 months and handle her very little so the fact that she has paint rub is so frustrating. I have some Americana soft matte varnish. I thought about putting it on her. I’m just at a place where I’m not sure what to do. If you have any good suggestions for that, please let me know. My email is in the description if you prefer to email me. If I post her. I am going to show close up pictures of the paint rub and drop her price down from what I planned to ask for her. Decisions, decisions…ugh. 😅 I’m so glad we got to chat. So glad you took the time to make a video. I am happy to hear you feel more relaxed now that school is getting out. I understand as a parent to now adult children and as a former teacher, and before that myself in school raising five.
When am I going to learn not to go near the reply button. Lol. Adelaide is so precious Ms Pumpkin Doodles always does such pretty work. I love the Cammi sculpt. She looks so sweet in both outfits. Think of dressing a squirmy 2yr old who "don't wanna" and dress her like that, it makes it easier to remember where to start. Yes sometimes we just don't bond or rebond with what we thought we would. It happens. Sorry about the cigarette smell, it is nasty when it permeate everywhere. Hope baking soda helps. Now I haven't tried this on vinyl but have with silk and mothball smell, believe me it is as bad as cigarette smell and just as stubborn: cat litter sometimes gets it out (and strangely enough they found very diluted vodka gets it out of silk. Though I not sure about paint reaction so maybe not a good idea for vinyl, but something to think about in case it reappears on the body or your hubby still reacts to the body).
