Hi Jen! I didn't know about the sound bath experience that was explained, but it did remind me that last month I had extreme nausea from a condition I have, and out of desperation I found these anti-nausea sound videos on RUclips that had sounds like this and also rain sounds and all sorts, and it surprisingly helped! I don't doubt the salt/sound bath would be amazing!

I have to say, when the lady was describing the sound bath, i was sceptical, but even through the video, I could feel the resonance in my body. I think I would love this experience in real life!

I was skeptical at first too, but then when she saturated the sounds, I literally felt a huge drop of anxiety and felt so relaxed. That was just for a few minutes from the clip. I can only imagine what a whole session would be like. That was amazing. Thank you for sharing your experience with us Jenn. It’s been a hard year for us. We lost two very important members of our family and I never knew about this and now I want to try it out myself.

After you wipe down the pail, sprinkle a few drops of an essential oil in the bottom of the pail and in the top around the bag opening, helps a lot , and a sprinkle baking soda to help absorb too!

For diapers, we used plastic bags to wrap each one and threw it in to the regular trash can, and we never had smells. We used our plastic grocery bags we had from shopping or the ones that are sold in the baby area at stores.

for the diaper trash, try dumping 1 or 2 scented dry sheets inside, not in the trash bag but in the can itself. (not sure how it looks) on our regular trash we do that it keeps it somewhat fresh.

You need to add baking soda in the bottom of your diaper pails. The soda is designed to absorb the smells. But you need to clean the pails first. Then change the soda each week. It works like a charm.

I have a 3 year old, with another baby on the way in June. I've never owned a diaper genie, just used a normal garbage bin with scented bags. The key is change out the bin every day, but make sure any poopie diapers get bagged up separately and thrown out into your outdoor garbage. I would honestly just get rid of the diaper genie and use a garbage can with a lid, preferably one that has a foot lever so you don't need to open it with your hands. Hope this helps!

  • @katiehayden7632

Hey Jen, We didn't use a diaper genie. We would wrap up the stinky diaper in a couple shopping bags and take it right out to the trash. If I were you and you still wanted to use the diaper genie, I'd just use it for the wet diapers instead. Hopefully that will help!

Honestly i watch my neice and nephew every week and we just use grocery bags, put the poopy diaper in along with the wipes, then throw it into the garage. At the end of the day we just take all of them out to the garbage can. Nothing extra to clean and it's reusing our grocery bags. Plus no smell in the house
Also, love Jackson's heart shirt. Especially the wheelchair user heart. I am disabled and find that adorable. My neice would love that! We found her a wheelchair user Kelly doll and she loves that toy along with her stuffed service dog that looks like my actual service dog

I used to put all the poop diapers in scented baby disposal bags and tossed them into our regular garbage that was going out at the end of each night. Diaper genies ( just my opinion) aren’t sanitary no matter how much you clean them and there’s always an odor. I know people love them which is a personal preference, I just didn’t care it and so much less work not having to clean it out.

I’ve been watching a RUclipsr who organizes and they suggested just declutter one drawer or cabinet at a time. Because pulling everything out is overwhelming and harder when you have kids. But if you do 1 or two a day it will be decluttered in a short amount of time (especially compared to how long it takes if you wait until you have time.) Hope that helps.

Jen.... for apple sauce all you need to do chop your apples (just do a couple) put in sauce pan with a little water heat slowly to the consistency you want. Hear in England with have this with roast pork but i can't see why you can't eat it like is... no additives just fresh apples 😊

Time really flies--it seems like Jackson was a little buddy about to start walking last week--and now Oliver's here, and Jackson has grown so much!
I've found that Dana K. White's No Mess Decluttering method (she's on RUclips) works really well for me--because even if you have a short time to work or get interrupted, you just follow the process and work on one area at a time, instead of pulling everything out all at once.
I've had a stressful.....last 6 weeks or so--and hearing all the cool sound bath instruments was so relaxing. Also, being so far from the beach, and having not been since 2018, I think I need to visit a salt room soon.......

Jen applesauce is so delicious homemade. Peel and chop apples put in a pan with a splash of water and cinnamon sticks. You want to soften them adding water if necessary. When soft mash them (the meat masher works great). You mash to your consistency we like it chunky. You can add cinnamon if you like. If you would like it a bit sweeter add some brown sugar. This is the most delicious and easy treat the boys will devour it.

I am glad that the woman who did the sound bath explanation did not focus too hard on healing. Healing is directly connected biologically to stress levels. Sounds are known to lower these stress levels and take our mind off of the things keeping us tense. But the sounds do not do anything directly to heal us. Too often practitioners who do this try to make wild magical claims about this process. It for sure relaxes you, does amazing things for your mind, etc. This is a good thing to go do. We live in a loud, bustling, and stressful world.
I encourage you Jen to get Bose QC headphones (they are pricey but worth it) and find a room in your home to take some time away for an hour. There are thousands of videos that will play these sounds in good definition. It is important to do it a few times a week if you can. Stress will mute itself in your body and you wont notice the tension. But it will impact your health eventually.
Also side note have you guys noticed the low grinding sound when you talk on the couch? I thought for the longest time it was my computer lol.

We actually always make out apples sauce with some of the skins still on! You just have to make sure that you cook it long enough and blend well when you are done. I wonder if the variety of apples also has an effect on whether the peels cook down well? It gives the sauce a beautiful color, and it keeps some of the extra nutrients from the peel.

    1. Dump the poop in the toilet if you can
    2. Empty in regular trash
There is no way to get around the smell!! Get rid of it and keep all trash together. You empty the regular trash more often so you get rid of it more.

Our hammocks were attached to the ceiling so they would sway and turn slightly but it felt like they were swinging waaaay more than they actually were (we had eye masks on). In New Zealand and Australia we have a brand called Tommee Tippy. They have bins where you twist the bag and enclose the smell. My sister has one and it’s really good. We use reusables so we don’t need it but would so use it if I did. The smell is reduced massively. Otherwise you could find some compostable nappy bags, we sell them at my local supermarket for $1, the key is to double bag. I work at a nursery so I know to double bags does really help.

For your diaper smelling problem, we just throw the poops out immediately in a grocery bag to your outside trashcan. We have a regular garbage can with a lid that we only put urine diapers and there is zero smell. Like you said they all sink and I’m not spending 90+ dollars on a garbage that doesn’t contain the smell.

Imagine if you stepped on a Hot Wheels but there was a banana peel under it 😯😮Also, when Jen told Jackson there was a Lego Lamborghini at Legoland you could literally watch his mind be blown.

We have a salt bath done before, we have a brand new spa open about a year ago in the Souetheastern Indiana area. Similar like the one you have down there.
