These sensors would be excellent to use in protheses where a contact would provide feedback to the wearer.

I just came from there. I had this idea and I was wondering if I could realistically do it for my senior project. After seeing how costly FSR sensors would be, I started searching for DIY options, and found that my idea wasn't original.

Has anyone looked into using these in e-drums? Also, anyone have any clue re: cost? All I've been able to find is that their 10mm diameter single-point sensors are about $5 each.

Funny, I was thinking about their use in a continuous controller for synths, like a Haken Continuum sort of deal. But I guess the large area would make it very expensive. Like a Haken Continuum.

Which controller is used to sense force? Could you please elaborate more about control? I mean, do you have your own peratech IC to sense it?

I never see people test it with a wooden stick or something else non-conductive. I'm looking for a bendable surface contact sensor that senses contact/pressure by any foreign object. Do you think this thing could sense contact with a wooden stick?
