I thought this album was pretty strong. Not as heavy as Iowa for sure but I don't care about that. Far from weak. I really like the riffs on this album. Not as flashy but tasty all the same with the squeals and grooves. The melodic element on this album really took it to another level. I love "Iowa" but it's awesome they made this album, too. Gematria was great in my opinion one of the best guitar work I've heard from slipknot and I've listened to self titled,iowa, subliminal verses,mfkr and the end so far. And something about Gematria's riffs just makes me wanna fight zues with my bare hands😂@@nicolausteslaus

The 1st place I went by myself was to FYE in the mall to buy some CDs of some bands she would never let me listen to. This was one of the albums I bought and the rest is history.

There Self titled and Iowa hit harder because it feels more personal, same with Grey chapter. This album doesn't feel as raw. Vol.3 even does better. the two newest feels like they twisted Stone sour in the mix which heavily depreciated them imo. but this... Is definitively imo there weaker album.
Because most of the songs in this album arent fast, they are so slow im rhythm and vocals, songs like Three Nil, Sic, Eeyore, Disasterpiece, and then compared with "Wherein lies continue, Butcher's hook, Sulfer, Vendetta" the instrumental and vocals arent fast or super intente to make you headbang like a helicopter shaking/rotating your head like a crazy, plus the Clown hated how this album was slow coz he loves to hit the keg in fast songs but most of the songs on the album were slow, also coz this album is SO clean in like EVERYTHING (Im talking about the sound quality, the SOUND) its so clean, the instrumental sounds so clean, the vocals, the clean vocals sounds almost robotic, even vol.3 instrumentals and clean vocals arent as clean compared to AHIG, compare his clean vocals in The Blister exists, Duality, Three Nil, Scream with Vendetta, Wherein lies continue (last chorus), Butcher's hook (last chorus as well), Vol.3 clean vocals in these songs sounds raw compared to the ones on AHIG, slow songs, clean in everything and same type of rhythm makes this a weak album to most ppl, but tbh I still enjoy this album, is better than their new album The End so Far,
because they let the expectations way too high with the previous albums. . . but looking at what they have been releasing after this, sure it's a great album

I listened to this in full this week at work, and it had been a below average album imo up until then, yeah Psychosocial, Snuff, and This Cold Black, but everything else felt a little off, and they just didn’t hit how I thought they would. After that replay this week, I’ve turned around on this album, it’s solid and ‘worthy’ of being a Slipknot album

I love Slipknot, but admittedly I've only heard slef titled, Iowa, Vol. 3 and we are not your kind (all countless times mind you) so this is my first time hearing this. Damn I love it. Honestly put it in the top 3 with S/T and Iowa. But did anyone else have a weird reaction to Gehenna? I found it very odd and hard to digest...it was so weirdly executed but not in an inventive or exciting way it just sounded accidental. Other than that this is a 10/10 for me and I'm really curious to see if Gehenna on me over time
