"True change comes from the orange man" Wow, Zherka really is a poet.
“If it was the 1950s, Destiny would be wearing a fedora, instead he’s wearing a gay duck.” This is the best argument for conservatism I have ever heard.

"The peace sign is just the cross flipped upside-down and snapped" yeah bro, and every time I see the clock at 3:33 an elite psychic vampire steals another childs soul. Just facts and logic with Zherka!
The sign did originate from a known anti christian ,Bertrand Russell in the 1930's ". *"I say quite deliberately that the Christian religion, as organized in its Churches, has been and still is the principal enemy of moral progress in the world."* before it was used by hippies, so Zherka could be right. And there are claims, that Bertrand Russel admitted, that it was a specifically anti christian symbol.
Yet I don't know where to find reliable peer reviewed sources on history, so who knows. It's so easy in regards to Science.

The modern peace sign was designed by Gerald Holtom for the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in 1958. The vertical line in the center represents the flag semaphore signal for the letter D, and the downward lines on either side represent the semaphore signal for the letter N. “N” and “D”, for nuclear disarmament, enclosed in a circle.
It's not a broken upside down cross, just saying for all the people who actually believe Zherka.
It’s not about nukes bro we can see the cross….
*Reliable peer reviewed sources*
Is there any type of journal, that covers this sort of stuff. I mean like a peer reviewed source. It's so easy to find reliable sources in regards to science, but I always struggle with history etc. I looked on wikipedia etc and clicked on the sources, but they are not what I would describe as reliable sources. And although this theory makes sense, it doesn't' make it true, yet even if it wasn't true, that doesn't mean it is indeed a broken upside down cross either. There are sites stating, that,Gerald Holtom, designed the sign, and the signs origin are what you have described, but they never even show any quotes from him, or quotes from, anyone close to him, stating that this is the case.
*Other theory*
And the other theory, is nearly just as convincing. Certainly in modern times, the cross was not first used, as the hippy peace symbol we know, but in the 1930's by Bertrand Russell, who was a known anti christian. *"I say quite deliberately that the Christian religion, as organized in its Churches, has been and still is the principal enemy of moral progress in the world." *
And there are claims of him stating, that the symbol was intentionally anti christian in design. Yet again, without a source from a reliable peer reviewed journal etc, who knows. And again, in regards to history, i've always found it hard to find reliable peer reviewed sources. So it would be interesting,if you could show, where you learnt this from, because CNN or Wikipedia or wherever just isn't reliable.
@@thepubquiz3198 when it comes to history you'll not find a double blind peer reviewed study, you can only go by people's anecdotes in a lot of cases.
There was a DAC meeting in February 1958 and people who attended there agreed on what happened and that the mentioned explanation was indeed the one Gerald Holtom presented.
I could also claim that Holtom sprouted tentacles from his head in that meeting which inserted themselves into the anal cavities of everyone who attended, forcing them to sign a piece of paper saying that he was not the spawn of yogzatoth and that the peace sign was not made to suck onlookers souls out.
Just because someone makes up a different version of events doesn't mean it has the same credibility.
The fact is that the people at the time agreed and books were written about it, none of the people who were there ever claimed that it was recorded wrong.
EDIT: spelling
@@TheLumberjack1987 *"when it comes to history you'll not find a double blind peer reviewed study,"*
I had to look up what double blind peer reviewed meant "Double-blind peer review means the identity of both the author and reviewer is kept hidden." To be honest, something just being peer reviewed and from a widely held credible source sounds better to me. And I think I have now found something.
*"There was a DAC meeting in February 1958 and people who attended there agreed on what happened and that the mentioned explanation was indeed the one Gerald Holtom presented."*
Again without a credible source, this statement means as little, as the upside down cross statements.
*"I could also claim that Holtom sprouted tentacles ......"* Ye you could yet that is of course no way near as plausible, as a known anti christian, coming up with a symbol that is anti christian, in origin, that does indeed look like an upside down broken cross. It's not really that out there at all. It's just as likely as the other claim.
*"The fact is that the people at the time agreed and books were written about it, none of the people who were there ever claimed that it was recorded wrong."
Books being written about it are irrelevant, there are books written about all sorts of things, with claims in those books, that are false. It's up to historians to review everything, and through their findings and peer review, essentially come to a consensus as to what happened.
*What I Found
*Academia*
*The origin of a peace symbol*
(It's behind a paywall, in *Academia* but you can find it, in *Research Gate*
"In his own words, ‘I was in despair. Deep despair. I drew myself: the representative of an individual in despair, with hands palm out stretched outwards and downwards in the manner of Goya’s peasant before the firing squad. I formalised the drawing into a line and put a circle round it. It was ridiculous at first and such a puny thing ...’ The symbol also represented a composite of the semaphore signals for the letters N and D - nuclear disarmament. "
*So*
There certainly is solid evidence, to back up the claim of it being created to be used for Nuclear Disarmament protests, with that being said, I would have to do more research in regards to the counter claims. Yet as I said, in regards to history, it's a lot more difficult to find reliable scholarly sources, than it is for science, so it may take some time.
It could be the case, that Gerald Holtom, independently came up with the idea, even though Bertrand Russel came up with it earlier. It could also be the case, that Russel did make it as an anti Christian symbol, and Holtom, subconsciously or consciously was influenced by Russel, which in a way, would still make it essentially anti christian, unbeknown to him. And it could indeed be anti christian in origin, even further back, there certainly does seem to be some evidence for that, from what I've quickly read, yet Russel may have been unaware of that. Just because he was anti christian, it doesn't automatically mean this symbol is.
And then of course, both Hotlom and Russell, could of both been aware of the symbol (It's being anti christian, and tries to pass it off as something else. Again though this will all require more research. As of now though, as far as I know it was created for the purposes of Nuclear Disarmament by Gerald Holtom, yet there very well may be more to it, again though, i've looked at one claim, I just need to look more deeply into the other. b
@@thepubquiz3198 with double blind peer reviewed I just threw together common study terms.
I'm not literally talking about double blind peer review, I'm talking about double blind experiments and the concept of peer review.
I just assumed you were familiar with the buzzowrds, sorry my bad.
History just doesn't allow for repeatable experiments, sometimes all we can go on are anecdotes.
If you want to speculate about conscious and subconscious anti christian thoughts during the design phase or other conspiracy theories then sure go ahead.
I just think it's pointless.

Zherka makes a god point around 10:00 mark. Americans don't seem to understand why the people from different countries are so invested in American politics. The reason is that the US dictates all over the world. Just look back at the first time the EU put sanctions on Russia. Most EU countries did not want to do it but the US came and just told the EU that they are going to put sanctions on Russia. Its one example.
