It's near impossible to do that with a modern computer unless you do it purposefully. There are many failsafe's and redundancies built into modern hardware that prevent a 'sudden and forceful' disassembly.
She's a French, what can yo say? My sister has a French colleague who claimed that American wine is not actual wine. Keep in mind that French grapes were American grapes (their grapes were extinct because a disease, and they had to import grape plants replacement from America).
I'd have waited for her to cook and treat her the same way. Also, Europeans tend to be bigots. The Western Allies were better than the US in the 40's, but not anymore.
Story 3: I get loving the food of your home country so much, but that's no excuse to look down on chefs of other nations, insult their hard work, and leave 0 tip with rude messages. She should just go back to France if this is how she treats non-French chefs and cooks
Gordon Ramsay would be appalled by such behavior and likely he'd be ballsy enough to toss her into the kitchen to make the meal she wants the way she wants and then slap two slices of bread to either side of her head and call her an idiot sandwich when she has a full break down trying to do any of it.
The thing is, she's a total fake, France isn't this mekka of great food everywhere and certainly not customer service, a lot of places are terrible. She's using being french to abuse people.
Exactly! Throw your breakfast tray on the floor in a tantrum worthy of a 3 year old does mean you weren't hungry. So don't expect a new tray until lunch time. Oh and be sure to let her doctors know she doesn't seem to be hungry and is refusing food.
For the food ambassador story, I used to work in a hospital doing that exact job. If a patient threw a tray we were not to give them a new one until they were seen by a doctor or nurse to confirm the cause of the tray falling was not medical or dangerous (think seizure or uncontrolled tremors or phycological). If it was none of those, and they threw it more than once, security would be the ones to bring them their food. So it could be sitting outside their room for several minutes to an hour until an officer got to it.
So sorry anybody has to go through that. I have been blessed. Ever since I've been on blood pressure medication (Irbesartan) the "please end me now" headaches are just really nasty headaches. That I can deal with! Still get all the other symptoms though. Light sensitivity is the worst.
My migraines don’t last multiple days, but they are hell for however many hours they last. Turns out I have this problem because there’s too much fluid in my head. According to my spinal tap 3 months ago, the pressure in my head was more than double what it’s supposed to be. At least I finally got treatment just before I would’ve gone blind! Now I’m stuck in that song and dance of finding the right treatment. This drug? Or that one? What dose? Up? Down? Something else? Who knows! Try to find the right combo and hope one of the meds/doses works so I don’t have to get a shunt in my head! Well, at least my eyes aren’t bleeding anymore. Neuro-ophthalmologist says the hemorrhages in my left eye have cleared up, so that’s good news. Maybe someday I’ll be able to stand in front of a window during day time or look at a white screen on a computer. Hopefully I can do those things again, someday, without feeling like there are shards of glass stabbing me in the eye sockets.
@s.h.6858 And there's not just pain. When having a migraine, I have had times when I actually could not walk straight. If I awoke and needed the bathroom, I would literally have to lean on the wall, reaching across doorways to the next wall to get there and back. Just trying to swallow water makes you retch. Migraines just mess you up. My mom had them and I always felt bad for her, but I never really understood until I started having them. People who've never had one don't get it.
Just go and get assessed, get a referral to see a neurologist, work out which medication works and get your life back. My migraines used to last 2/3 days, and i used to get about 2 per month, i now use Amitriptyline and i now get about 1/2 migraines a year. My last migraine was in February this year ... that's 10 months of freedom. (when the Neurologist assessed my he was stunned by the fact that i had precursor symptoms 2 to 3 times per hour, that's the stabbing pain behind your eyes or loss of balance or tunnel vision or feeling that your brain wants to burst out your skull or retching, but mainly it was the stabbing pain) My migraine's used to be excruciatingly painful, i would be crying in a blacked out room for days, sometimes i would vomit or retch every 15 minutes or so and do that for up to 12 hours or so, vomiting blood wasn't uncommon, i used to get so beat up i would fall asleep due to exhaustion only to wake and find the migraine was still there. I ended up in hospital for 24hrs once, the ER doctor freaked out when she realised i was dangerously dehydrated (they kept me in ER overnight and had me on saline and pethidine) I now take Amitriptyline every evening, I have Maxalt with me at all times (Its a migraine killer, it only works about 60% of the time but its better than nothing) and i also have Panadeine Forte handy as i have found that if you are out and about and you get the warning signs, take the Forte asap, and that works about 60% of the time as well.
Tray Tossing Karen Story: If I was OP, the moment she tossed a tray at me (even if she only intended the tray to land on the floor beside her), I'd notify my Manager that I've just been Assaulted by a belligerent Patient and I'm calling the Police to Press Charges...I'd also tell him that since she deliberately threw her food away, she must not be hungry and so I'm not going to bring her a replacement!
The food servers should have contacted the house supervisor to chill her crap. I was a house supervisor. I never let patients mistreat the staff. Sadly, society has made it more acceptable to act like a douche. Staff loved when I dealt with people like her. They got a talking to. And they were told if the behavior continued I’d have psychiatric service or security deal with them because it’s considered aggressive behavior towards staff, which isn’t tolerated. If it continued, the hospital would involve the police and we’d file charges. Worked like a charm.
I wish the first boss was fired immediately. My first college roommate had a migraine and described it like hell. I would never want him to work if he were suffering through those.
When I was younger, I did not understand what migraines truly were. No on who hasn't experienced one really does. Some time around 35 or 40, I got a true migraine. I was bedridden for 2 days, the room could not be made dark enough, and I did not eat or drink anything. I never "poo poo'd" a migraine again.
I had migraines singe 12, but they stopped at 40, and I've been so happy about it, but won't celebrate early... I've gotten chronic pains now,but it's a meniskin in my Left knee, and both of my hips.. it hurts like heck.. I can't sleep at night because of it . I get pain meds, but they just take the edge of the pain, but not as a whole ... It sucks..
I worked internationally for many years. At first, I was one of “those” people, who compared foreign cuisine to what we ate at home. It took about 6 months before I dropped that attitude and started eating what the locals recommended. I quickly learned there’s good food everywhere, if you’re willing to try it.
Story 3 - I’d like to see Gabrielle take that attitude with Chef Gordon Ramsey. I hope the restaurant banned her from the restaurant and OP’s dad dumps her after learning what she did.
A few months ago I was in the hospital for back surgery. Every day until the surgery, I was in so much pain. I could not incline the bed much as it hurt my back. The food staff would walk in, ask if I wanted to sit up and I would say that the pain would be too much. I was nice and respectful. I learned all these manners watching tv from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. There is NO reason to be rude to anyone at all.
Hospital tray - the OP did the best thing. If they’d thrown the tray at the patient or denied her food, they’d be the ones in trouble and probably out of a job.
Ive heard story 3 a number of times and it still astounds me how people can be like that, no one can say that when they themselves have never been in a "Real" kitchen
Story 1 - I get migraines once in a while but I once had a migraine that was so bad that threw up during the night, I also have a friend who suffers from chronic migraines so I sympathize with OP and anyone who suffers with migraines themselves. Hearing that Karen got vomit on her shoes made me laugh cause that’s what she deserved, and you’re right she should’ve been fired not transferred.
OP should have called HR and filed an IMMEDIATE complaint stating they had called in twice and this manager demanded I come in when told to call back when I should at the 2 hour mark, but of course couldnt until 30 min later. Also should have gone immediately to the store manager saying they were there to report for duty as ordered by their manager lol And before the HR haters out there say they are there to only protect the company and not the employee. They are protecting the company from a potential lawsuit.
I remember story 3, there was an update that explains why Gabrielle was really bad to the staff while at the restaurant. Apparently she learned the dad was had plans to take her to her favorite French restaurant but she didn't know the day. They went to the restaurant mentioned in the story & he was going to take her to the French one the next day or something. Because she felt lied to(even though she confirmed nothing) & mad about not getting to go to her precious French restaurant she acted up at the one they were at. From what I understood in the update the dad had a talk with Gabrielle & thanks to her behavior might choose to cancel the trip to the French restaurant & their relationship might be hanging by a thread.
Migraines are nothing to be trifled with. I suffered a concussion in 1999 and since then I've gotten sporadic concussion induced migraines. Sometimes they come by their own hook or crook but sometimes they can be brought on by three things. Being overtired/overestressed, bright lights or loud noises. When they do hit i'm usually down for at least two days in a dark room. Either feeling like a railroad spike in my eyes or at the base of my neck. A lot of times I do get precursors that warn me that one is coming. I'll either get a high-pitched ringing in my ears or more commonly, vision that looks like I'm underwater, with everything kind of swimmy in front of my eyes. Luckily they've gotten fewer and farther between as the years have passed but I still dread when they do come.
If I get auras, they are little more than things being too bright and yellow around the edges. But I do get migraines that start in the back. Those last the longest.
I worked on the top rank software team. There were gods among us. People with amazing skills. BUT WE CHECKED OUR EGOS AT THE DOOR. Yes, i found things that the best tech didn't. I learned an enormous amount from him and others. I was close to #1 before I left. We didn't keep score. SOmetimes things were pure intuition. You just knew. I remember the remark: "I don't know why this will work but try it!" It did work. I did similar things. BUT WE WERE A TEAM. And no one was too good to ask for help from the team or an individual. My reputation was built on that trust and cooperation. Not just with the team, but with customers.
I have silent migraines. I don’t get the killer headaches. I just temporarily become blind and tingly, and then I get a dull headache when it’s over. 5:13
I get vertigo as well as brain fog, and a few other things that make it difficult to function. I have rare times that I am bed bound all day but it does happen. Migraines are no joke.
Yeah, it's really weird and hard to explain to people. For me, it's a bit like having a very temporary but painless stroke. Really disorienting and I lose my ability to even speak clearly when they get bad.
I've occasionally gotten the silent ones. Bright, flashy zig-zags that grow in one side. Along with a weird drugged up feeling. Can't say as I enjoy those either, as flashing things make me not feel well - like nausea and deep foreboding. But at least they don't last for days on end.
I got migraines just this starting from age 13-14. Back then(1973-74) Migraine wasn’t a true diagnosis yet. My parents took me to the Doctor ALL the time. The told me: I’m just a woman, it’s from your period, you’re just depressed, it’s in in your head, you shouldn’t complain so much, you need a psychiatrist, blah. So finally I was diagnosed with migraines when I was 26, 1985💔They stayed with me until menopause. Now I’m 65 and migraine free for over 10 year😮💨
Gabrielle is fortunate she didn't get thrown out at the Butter Complaint... If I was the Restaurant's Manager, I'd have thrown her Entitled Ass out after her she Abused my Staff the second time and told her NEVER to return as her Entitled, Narcissistic Ass is Permanently Banned from my Restaurant!
Story 3 had an update. The dad was FURIOUS with Gabrielle and told her that he was cancelling their anniversary date until she learned to behave. Hopefully, either she learns, or the dad dumps her.
I can never understand why some idiots think women can't be good with computers. I can kinda see about being suspicious of a woman being a lumberjack or a bricklayer or something manual like that. But even than , if you're told that this woman is the best at something, believe it. Especially if everyone who you work with tells you she's the best, because she probably is.
Me in my early 20s: Crazy about the sort of women who would choose a career as a truck driver, lumberjack, pipefitter, etc. Also me in my early 20s: Very frustrated that I couldn't seem to find a woman like that who didn't already have a girlfriend. Not a joke, sadly. But I did make a bunch of awesome friends. I still miss those ladies and their partners.
I used to be the "top tech" when I was working in IT. I never had it quite that bad, but I had to prove myself to every new person to come in before they believed that a woman could be a good tech.
I'm OP in the 2nd story, and yeah. I hated working the counter for the most part because people would look me dead in the face and go "Can I speak to a tech?" while I was in full uniform under a giant sign for the IT department.
@@tillybender9696 yeah I feel bad for you on that. sad that sexist people exist in this world still who think that women can't be mechanics, technicians, engineers, or anything that is considered to be a "masculine" job. It's like they need a reminder that women built the weapons, machines, and such while the men were away during world war 1 and 2... hell one of my family members, great aunt that is, worked in a factory that made missiles during world war 2. So yeah no, women are just as capable of doing any job that a man can and in some cases they can do the job 10x better than a man.
Literally makes no sense for people to think a woman can't work tech because if anything the biological differences would help them.. Woman tend to have thinner fingers which would be useful for delicate work. And it's not like knowledge is affected by biology 😵
Story 2: Sexist behavior aside, this guy's got one heck of an overconfident ego thinking he can just throw together computer parts without checking compatibility first (one of my highschool courses severely emphasized checking compatibility) And then you add the sexism where he ignores the woman in the group (who knows the most about this field), and then trying to prove his (non-existent) superiority with the PC building while ignoring her help
It would be compatible with a BIOS update. That's probably why the part picker gave a thumbs up. All this lists of compatible parts probably gave a thumbs up as well. MB makers can't put every CPU that fits into the MB BIOS and so with an older CPU it can be updated to work.
I finally checked "build my own custom PC from scratch" off my bucket list this year. Updating the BIOS was just one of the steps in the instructions for the MOBO. I admit, it was a challenge. There were several ID-10t errors. I eventually exhausted my English profanity, and had to branch out into Spanish, German, Orcish and Klingon. All together, it took me the equivalent of three work days (~3 8 hour shifts) to get it up and running.
Story 2 is mine, and god that story still makes me grin. I now only fix computers for friends, and last year built a custom Gundam inspired computer. It's my pride and joy. And as a fun side note, that manager friended me on Facebook a couple of months after I left the company. I accepted out of pure curiosity, and he instantly messaged me about a computer problem. Turns out, he got another tech job (not a manager position) and wanted me to help. I laughed my ass off as I blocked him. From word of mouth, he now works as some admin in a store. No more tech jobs for him. LOL
That's wonderful. My husband builds our home pc's and this seems like something he would do to a stubborn coworker. Brava!! I'll be willing to bet good money that that guy is the kind who would say things like Don't worry your pretty little head over such things, That's man's work. haha
@@MysticStar_8161 That's awesome! I love home computer builders. Yeah, that guy was actually more... pretend the issue doesn't exist. He would never SAY anything like that, at least never to me, but he would just do things that were questionable and added up to only one conclusion. I tend to find these people worse, because it's harder to know until all the proof is staring you in the face.
@@tillybender9696 That's fair. I once had a manager that decided that I shouldn't have a restroom break near the end of my waitress-ing job years ago. He thought I was going to smoke in the bathroom. He couldn't make the leap that it was actually a true bladder screaming moment. Let's just say he got an ear full and the restaurant lost a waitress. Dude was so rude he didn't even introduce himself as the manager of the shift on the first shift we worked together!
Long ago, my boss told me to go and pick up my co-worker who was out on delivery. Said, "I have no idea what his problem is, but he didn't sound good". I went and found him, sitting in his car, seat back, eyes closed. He said, "I.... have.... a.... migraine. Please.... drive... me... home". Wow! I had no idea that a migraine could be so incapacitating.
I've never understood why anyone would be rude to people serving or cooking food for you. You really want someone handling your food to be mad at you? Seems very risky to me.
There's an old saying: "When on a date, watch how your date treats servers, retail workers, valets, maintenance workers, etc. Because that's how they're going to be treating YOU in six months."
I've been a guest in the hospital on quite a few a occasions. First of all ive learned that if you act like an a-hole you get treated like an a-hole. I am always super nice and gratful, especially to people who bring me my food. I usually always get extra treats and extra cups of coffee ☕️ whatever I ask for. One time when I was in the hospital for a few days, I had a roommate from hell . A real male karen. He pulled that stunt of throwing his tray on the floor ONCE. That's all it took. The woman looked him in the face and said, " Well, I guess you're not hungry, cause that's all you're getting until lunch. And if you pull that again at lunch, all you'll be eating is cafeteria sandwiches. " He behaved himself with food service after that. He was still a nightmare to the doctors and nurses. At one point he asked me why the nurses seem nicer to me and amswer my ring faster than they do for him. I told him the truth. I said, " Dude, they like me more than they like you because I show them respect and gratitude. And you treat everyone like an asshole They're doing the bare minimum to get you well enough to get you out of here. " He acted a very little bit better after that so I guess he heard me.
I swear, I will never understand people who come over to another country and get all pissy about how the food isn't THEIR food, in every particular. The entire point of going to another country is to experience things you can't back home; even if you get food that is pretty darn close to what you'd normally get, it's going to be a LITTLE different, and that's fine; that's great; that's part of the experience. (As an American who loves a good burger, I have made it a point when I travel abroad to go to the local burger places and see how they differ from ours - you'd be amazed how delicious some tiny regional variations can be.) It's ridiculous to have an attitude about people half a world away from your home not preparing your food exactly the way you're used to it - if you're THAT picky about your food, then STAY HOME!
Our local hospital has a zero tolerance policy for abuse of staff. I've heard a doctor read the riot act to a patient saying that their bad behaviour was going to stop that instant or they would be sent home. This generally results in a very sheepish patient being VERY quiet after that.
I went to Waffle House today and ordered a patty melt meal. I had no idea it came with bacon. I don't eat bacon. I left the sandwich, ate the hash browns and paid for the meal. I told the server that I left the sandwich because it had bacon on it. She offered to take it off. I told her no. I should've asked. She offered again and I refused again. I ordered it. I didn't ask if it came with bacon. They made the food so I paid for it.
Story three: that really annoys the hell out of me. That woman really needs to go back on the first ship to France. I’ve been around the world and to me good food is a universal. It may use a different spice palette different cooking techniques but if you’re open minded, you realize that it’s all good. I mean, if you have a food intolerance or analogy that’s different but you should really try to experience all the great food out there.
I'm a fellow migraine sufferer and mine are like OP from the first story. I can't do anything but lay in bed in a dark room as turning my head would make me nauseous and lead me to throw up. Mine can last for several days too so yeah a person can know a day before they aren't going to be well enough to go to work the next day
I went to a Pontiac garage for some tne up parts, decades ago. The smug clerk threw a hissy fit when I answered his questions. He learned across the counter and yelled, "This here Mo-ron think he gotta Turbohydromatic 40 trannsmission in the DTO!" They were all laughing, as I tossed the keys to a mecachinic. See for yourself." He learned out of the dor, "He's right, it is a three speed!" The other mecanichics were looking at the conversion, and asking questions as I turned to the clerk, "Get my damned parts!" GM didn't offer that option, and itt was a tight fit but I'd made it work. I laid rubber on hard packed sand with that car.
If I was OP's Store Manager, the instant I'd found out what Karen did, I'd give Karen a Written Warning, Suspend Karen for 3 Days, and Demote her out of Management with a note in her File that she is NOT suitable Management Material and is NEVER to be Promoted to Management again...
Hey Fluff, I can definitely relate to the Op in the first story. She described her migraines and they sounded just like my migraines. 2-3 days of laying in the dark hoping that I would either dye or the pain would go away. And throwing up every 10-20mins for the first few hours.
First story, I used to get migraines really bad and I've been through times when I not only vomited, but my body seemed to lose control of my body temperature. I went through spells when I would be cold and was bundling up in blankets, then I would suddenly got so hot that anything covering me would make me sweat. Fortunately something in my body changed (I think it was caused by a nephropathy medication that I'm on) but now I rarely have much pain when I get the part of a migraines where my vision gets all messed up, but mostly no pain. The doctors call the messed up vision an aura which always happened before the pain would start.
S3: I have a friend who is a chef. he told me many stories about people like her and more. don't mess with people who serves you food. you will regret it
It's soooo outdated to think only a certain gender can do a certain job, or that gender determines how much knowledge (or strength) you/they have And that manager should have tested before sending it out and at first sign of trouble ask OP 'if you are better than me: what would be most likely be the issue here, what would probably be the cheapest solution?' -maybe better think but not say out loud that first part... Pride is something that can kill... your career...
I thought the Over You was going to be taken literally-at least the second time-but I guess OP would get in trouble for that Or maybe deliver the rest of the meals and clean the mess she made before getting her a new tray😈
I've been getting migraines since I was11 years old. They can be very debilitating. Some of mine can last for weeks. I've had a neurologist for over a decade and multiple medications just for my migraines. I keep a pair of dark sunglasses near me at all times
With the computer sorry, I don’t bother with if it’s a man or woman doing it, all that matters is ‘can you do the job?’ And believe me, people will be watching to see what you do with your successes and failures. And for goodness sake, if you get something wrong, you do not figure it out, and can’t say that you know what you are doing, freaking ask questions! I’d rather ask questions now, than fail many times later. I listen to a women, an older guy and even a young guy, if there’s even a chance they know what is going on or ask the next person.
the story 3 comment... "Foreigners" travel to places to see different places, and to try different foods. That they are putting it down as being inferior... is not respectful. If you don't like it, maybe ask them if they would be open to feedback, and respectfully say what you didn't like and what you did, or how you think they could do it better... What we need is more managers who will kick people out with bans for failing to be disrespectful.
When I go into Auto Zone or any parts store, I'm always polite and ask how they're doing, and unless I already know what I need i always let them know the issue so they can help. I hate it when people just treat workers like crap, I always ask for the part I need because they are still human and should be treated with kindness
Always bring in the old plugs. A good mechanic (or an experienced parts person) can look at the condition of the plug, and recommend a slightly different heat range plug that will run either cooler or hotter due to the length of the electrode. If the plug is carbon fouled, you need a hotter plug; if the plug is showing signs of overheating/erosion, you need a cooler plug.
Story 3: I would have also told Gabrielle point blank that I had no intention of serving anyone who I had every reason to believe would be nothing but condescending and unappreciative. That it's all we ever see of you and we are not putting ourselves in that position in our OWN HOME. Also, what are YOUR cooking skills even like? And do you know why I'm saying this to you? No? Because if you're going to be a guaranteed bitch to me, I'd rather it be because I stood up and called you out on your bullshit than from giving you any sense of power. This was a planned scheme, they would've had time to rehearse.
Migraine story: Well done. I used to get migraines as well. Mine felt like someone was poking my left eye out... from the inside behind my eye. I was lucky they rarely lasted more than 2-3 hours.. Build computer story: Nicely done OP. Another slap down for misogyny. Breakfast story: I've had some really great meals in various places around the US. Yes, I'm a retired truck driver. I've also had a few pretty bad ones. Those places didn't last long. I was also in the Navy and I've been to France. The food was a range of okay to no thanks. Hospital food story: VERY WELL DONE, OP! She wants to be an @$$, you teach her what being an @$$ is all about, in a way that can't be thrown back on you. Auto Zone story: You did good OP. I'm not any kind of mechanic either, even from back when the closest thing to a computer the cars had were analog AM radios. But at least I was smart enough to get all the info I had available to the mechanic/parts guy, including the old part if I could get to it. And I'm very aware not all spark plugs are the same. If they were, why would they make so many different ones?
first story: I've had migraines. I've also worked with a manager like that. Luckily, it was a smaller shop that had a phone system set up to record all calls in and out (The owner said it was to 'protect customers' from abusive employees, but truth was, it was always used to protect employees from abusive customers). Not a migraine, but Had a 24/hr flu once. called in 12 hours ahead that I wasn't feeling well. Was told by a manager (not the owner) to take tums and show up. called 6 hours ahead, was told to just show up and do light work. called 2 hours ahead and was told "If you don't show up, consider yourself fired." Alright, bet. I show up, throw up on the floor, stock, and some of it splashes on a customer's shoes. Manager accuses me of "showing up knowing I'd be sick, and that I was fired." I head home. Call in the next day (feeling MUCH better) and speak to the owner. I ask if I'm fired and he asks if I called in ahead and was told to show up anyhow. I agree. He checks the phone records and calls me back and confirms that I am, indeed, NOT fired. the manager was for lying straight to the owner's face. two months later, I was the manager. worked there a total of 2 more years before I moved onto bigger and better things.
I also get massive migraine headaches. While I don't get sick, I feel nauseated along with other symptoms. I totally sympathize with the first story. 😢
The last story. Karen is like the people on those "Customer States" videos. Where they bring a car in torn apart/ spray foamed together claiming another shop did this.
My mother was a nurse. And she said that at her younger times, there were some women who had a "holier than thou"-attitude, but the nurses had to dig the dirt from their body, as if they hadn't showered or bathed for weeks. And some older people, who were adamant that they could do everything at home for themselves, asked the nurses to open the windows a bit (in Germany) before they even had their surgery so they didn't have any reason.
I am 63 and have had migraines since I was 14. I have chronic migraine which is 15+ headache days a month. I also get hemiplegic migraines which are migraines that act like strokes. Debilitating pain is the norm for me. Every 6-8 weeks I get a migraine that is so bad I have to throw up and go to the emergency room for a migraine medication cocktail. If anyone had ever insisted that I come into work with one of my migraines I would not only have refused, I would have filed a complaint with the labor board.
Fifth story: One of the most valuable teachings I got in college: The costumer is never right because they don't know anything. That's why they go to you in the first place.
I worked as a stocker at Big Blue Box store and was stocking the automotive aisles when a woman came up and asked me what kind of oil her SUV took. I said: "I have no idea. What's it say in the owner's manual?". She got angry that some random stock clerk didn't memorize what type of oil her specific vehicle required. Some customers really are rude.
I always have to carry migraine pills in case I get one ( I have certian tendency) or else trying to do anything becomes a horrible task. And I say this as someone with high pain tolerance.
Story 1 - as a fellow migraineur, I felt this one. Oh gawd, I felt this one. If I have enough notice, I can take a triptan with Excedrin and a cup of caffeinated tea (yes, I know Excedrin already has caffeine - I still need an additional boost), and with 20 hrs of sleep and a lot of luck, I might get it reduced to a splitting headache.
story 4, after seeing the karen throw food like that i would have said to her " do you want the food over you or on the side" and as soon as she said over, i would have dumped it over her, and with a smile said to her " there you go ma'am your food is over you now"
The first person I saw who was having a migraine looked to me like a Victorian melodrama heroine. Years later I was living in the Netherlands when I got my first migraine. My boss took one look at me and told me he would drive me home. Good idea, since I rode a bicycle to work. Mine would last several days! I’ve been mentally apologizing to the first person I saw who was having a migraine for several years! The pain is awful and yes, they can last for days!
Last story is so ridiculous. Going to a mechanic asking for a random car part is like going to a toy store and telling them you need a "LEGO brick". Which fkn one exactly ?
Flip side of the Autozone story; I was in one of their competitors’ stores one time, and the guy behind the counter decided to talk down to me because I do not look like their typical “car guy” clientele, and questioned if knew what I was doing buying supplies for an oil change without running the VIN through his computer, and that I should call someone for help. I informed him I worked in the supply chain and my company made the casting the oil filter screws into for the make/model in question, so I’m pretty confident I know my cars well enough to pick out the filter I need.
Story 1: I guess I’m lucky, mine only last a couple hours at most, but I get the aura kind where my vision gets partially blacked out and sparkly, so it makes if very difficult to work.
S 1 Migraines. My late mother had migraines. My sister and I have migraines. But I 70, male, learned to live with it. Someone told me a "cure" and I tried it. Warm up 1-1.5 lit drinking water and add 1 teaspoon salt. On an empty stomach, drink the warm salt water and go to the bathrrom. If the reflex is not triggered by the salt, then put 2 fingers in and press the back of the tongue. And let everything out. Dont keep the stomach empty afterwards as bile can attack the stomach lining. Eat something light and drink a glass of water. I drink once a week on the week end and do this "trick" the next day. Havent had migraines since 1995 Disclaimer: Ask your physician before starting this "therapy". Not reco for high BP individuals
S1: my SO used to get them that bad too. And I wasn't a big fan of septum piercings till I heard that there is a 50/50 chance that one will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce or ends migraines. And yeah, she barely ever has any issues anymore. It's so cool something like that exists.
Migraines are no joke. My husband has had a migraine once and it was horrible to watch. He was shivering, had a fever, couldn’t leave the bed at all, and overall looked like death. I was honestly scared for him. It lasted about 9 hours and he slept though most of it but it was terrible.
Story 1, I suffer with migraines. I have a more unusual rarer type of migraine where I can be out in sunshine and do most things. However I can't lift things and it looks like I'm drunk when walking, and mine can last for several weeks at a time even with my sodium valproate and triptan medications. When I have a really severe migraine I can lose days where I don't remember anything that I done or said, and the last time that happened was back in 2019.
Before I worked at a parts store, I would phone my local store and check if they had the part. After 3 years working at one, I still will phone and ask if it is going to be difficult for me to get there, otherwise I go talk in person - some of the weird questions that were in the old parts books means they may have to ask if X seemingly unrelated part is present or not; some cars were really weird that way. And mid year changes were the worst "it's a 95, they're all the same!" Um no sir, you could have press in 36.7mm ball joints or 35.8mm screw in ball joints depending on which parts bin the assembly line pulled from that day.
Story Two: The District Manager was probably RIGHT that OP left at least PARTLY due to the misogynistic Store Manager. Pretty sure that if that Store Manager had given OP respect she probably would have been too content & possibly too busy to start shopping around her resume. By giving her as little to do as possible, he pretty much ensured that there was little for OP to do but look for better jobs that paid better & respected her MORE.
I’ve heard from people I know…they eat 2 bananas when they feel a migraine on coming. They also use vanquish for pain. I guess it’s a mix of Tylenol and aspirin and really helps
As a former Director of Operations, managers take scheduling way too seriously. You can work short staffed. Do nothing, say something supportive, and DOCUMENT the incident. Guys like me read those reports and will figure out who is the problem. Cover it by asking people to stay late, call in your overtime hounds, and pick up some duties yourself. This is a ten minute issue at most!
@kikipocalypse I know. I support having a budget for operations. But overtime is a real factor. Smart managers don't sweat schedule issues. They solve them. You always have a few employees who wouldn't leave and work forever if weren't illegal. Use them. And if you don't know who they are, you are a poor manager. I supervised all north American operations. I have solved problems from thousands of miles away. Managers want to be lazy and hide away. Not on my watch. I get to know everyone because it makes my job easier. At one place I worked in the past 5 years, we had a "bribe" fund to get people to switch off. I never used it, while other directors were begging for more budget. That's how bad some companies are, they have to bribe employees to come to work. But that company was seriously dysfunctional. The C suite keeps offering my old job back, but it's terrible there. The owners sit at home and watch cameras all day. I've worked at the highest levels. Trust me, it's weirder than you think.
I got fired from my last job in fine dining for having a terrible sinus infection. We didn't have employees, I was working 6 days a weeks 3 days open to close. Honestly, I was happy losing that job ha.
In the story about the computer, I was waiting to hear how the computer violently self-destructs as soon as the manager turned it on.
You too? XD
Honestly, I was waiting for it to start smoking
Poetic Justice! 💌⚖️
It's near impossible to do that with a modern computer unless you do it purposefully. There are many failsafe's and redundancies built into modern hardware that prevent a 'sudden and forceful' disassembly.

S3: Gabrielle proves that old adage that a person who treats wait staff poorly is *not* a good person.
Maybe Gabrielle should have been called Nanette Manoir.
BWF
She's a French, what can yo say? My sister has a French colleague who claimed that American wine is not actual wine. Keep in mind that French grapes were American grapes (their grapes were extinct because a disease, and they had to import grape plants replacement from America).
The French can be like that
I'd have waited for her to cook and treat her the same way.
@@DekrosnaArcanaThat's an idea, give her a job as a chef and have everyone accost her for her "awful cooking".
She probably acts the same way in France. That attitude has nothing to do with the quality of the food or the skills of the chef.
I lost it with Gabrielle’s magical hoo-ha!!! 😂😂😂 I’m glad my family isn’t the only one who thinks stuff like this. 😂😂😂
Exactly! Throw your breakfast tray on the floor in a tantrum worthy of a 3 year old does mean you weren't hungry. So don't expect a new tray until lunch time. Oh and be sure to let her doctors know she doesn't seem to be hungry and is refusing food.
Story 3: People like Gabrielle will forever be critical and unhappy. They just wanna complain and bring others down
For the food ambassador story, I used to work in a hospital doing that exact job.
Story 1: My daughter and I both get migraines like that. I've had people tell me "it's just a headache", " you're fine"... Til I get like that.
I think those people are the ones who don't get headaches, except as an excuse. Or are incapable of imagining pain like that.
(when the Neurologist assessed my he was stunned by the fact that i had precursor symptoms 2 to 3 times per hour, that's the stabbing pain behind your eyes or loss of balance or tunnel vision or feeling that your brain wants to burst out your skull or retching, but mainly it was the stabbing pain)
My migraine's used to be excruciatingly painful, i would be crying in a blacked out room for days, sometimes i would vomit or retch every 15 minutes or so and do that for up to 12 hours or so, vomiting blood wasn't uncommon, i used to get so beat up i would fall asleep due to exhaustion only to wake and find the migraine was still there.
I ended up in hospital for 24hrs once, the ER doctor freaked out when she realised i was dangerously dehydrated (they kept me in ER overnight and had me on saline and pethidine)
I now take Amitriptyline every evening, I have Maxalt with me at all times (Its a migraine killer, it only works about 60% of the time but its better than nothing) and i also have Panadeine Forte handy as i have found that if you are out and about and you get the warning signs, take the Forte asap, and that works about 60% of the time as well.
I'd come back and slap the missing item on top of the tray and leave. After getting her information mind you.
I would have told the "lady" "I'll spit into your juice or onto your pancakes if you do that gain". Mehehe
Story 4 - I agree with the last commenter, if you’re gonna throw your tray of food then that means that you’re not hungry and don’t want to eat.
Story 3 and 4: I still can't believe there are people who don't know this: Never be rude to someone who handles your food
Magical hoo-ha is the phrase of the day. Nuff said. Lol
Ahh, 'Tish! That's French! You know what that does to me. - Gomez Addams.
Ive heard story 3 a number of times and it still astounds me how people can be like that, no one can say that when they themselves have never been in a "Real" kitchen
That first story, the manager has been blessed to never have had migraines.
Also should have gone immediately to the store manager saying they were there to report for duty as ordered by their manager lol
And before the HR haters out there say they are there to only protect the company and not the employee. They are protecting the company from a potential lawsuit.
Gabriel and Hospital Karen would be a match made in Hell.
Now I’m 65 and migraine free for over 10 year😮💨
Hospital Karen, we can do this all day
Gabrielle is fortunate she didn't get thrown out at the Butter Complaint...
Stories with that type of attitude always make me wonder for which part of the job you need a d!$# to be able to do your job.
Story 2: Sexist behavior aside, this guy's got one heck of an overconfident ego thinking he can just throw together computer parts without checking compatibility first (one of my highschool courses severely emphasized checking compatibility)
And then you add the sexism where he ignores the woman in the group (who knows the most about this field), and then trying to prove his (non-existent) superiority with the PC building while ignoring her help
OP should have stayed though since the Manager was fired.
It would be compatible with a BIOS update. That's probably why the part picker gave a thumbs up. All this lists of compatible parts probably gave a thumbs up as well. MB makers can't put every CPU that fits into the MB BIOS and so with an older CPU it can be updated to work.
@@JadenYukifan28better paying job may say otherwise. Besides, the manager wasn't fired until OP left.
@@JadenYukifan28 Nah, get the same work but big pay bump? Easy choice.
Story 2: It is most.surprising that the customer was even willing to wait that long. I would have demanded a refund after 2 weeks max.
And you treat everyone like an asshole
They're doing the bare minimum to get you well enough to get you out of here. " He acted a very little bit better after that so I guess he heard me.
That manager was afraid the hardware would get cooties from the gross girl.
No way dad didn't know Gabrielle was a b****.
Mine can last for several days too so yeah a person can know a day before they aren't going to be well enough to go to work the next day
Story 4, I was NPO for a week straight once, and by the Wright Brothers, once I could have fluid, and then solid food I ate like a wild wolf. SMDH.
We all know Dad tolerates Gabrielle's BS because she gives good top.
Story one.... That rabid Karen should have been fired immediately. She has no business being a supervisor. 😮
S3: I have a friend who is a chef. he told me many stories about people like her and more. don't mess with people who serves you food. you will regret it
It's soooo outdated to think only a certain gender can do a certain job, or that gender determines how much knowledge (or strength) you/they have
And that manager should have tested before sending it out and at first sign of trouble ask OP 'if you are better than me: what would be most likely be the issue here, what would probably be the cheapest solution?' -maybe better think but not say out loud that first part...
Pride is something that can kill... your career...
You oftentimes don't quit a bad job. You quit a bad boss.
I thought the Over You was going to be taken literally-at least the second time-but I guess OP would get in trouble for that
Or maybe deliver the rest of the meals and clean the mess she made before getting her a new tray😈
I've been getting migraines since I was11 years old. They can be very debilitating. Some of mine can last for weeks. I've had a neurologist for over a decade and multiple medications just for my migraines. I keep a pair of dark sunglasses near me at all times
With the computer sorry, I don’t bother with if it’s a man or woman doing it, all that matters is ‘can you do the job?’
And believe me, people will be watching to see what you do with your successes and failures.
Thought OP was going to dump the tray of food on Karen, since that's where she said she wanted it.
The patient that threw her tray would not have gotten another one until the next meal, if it was me
story 4 OP is kind of a diplomatic genius, what society has them deliver food.
the story 3 comment...
First story OP needs to get an MRI. Debilitating pain isn't normal.
@MarkStockman-b4j Most of the time I just need new bulbs
4) well this would work as a dementia check 😆
Story 3: I would have also told Gabrielle point blank that I had no intention of serving anyone who I had every reason to believe would be nothing but condescending and unappreciative. That it's all we ever see of you and we are not putting ourselves in that position in our OWN HOME. Also, what are YOUR cooking skills even like? And do you know why I'm saying this to you? No? Because if you're going to be a guaranteed bitch to me, I'd rather it be because I stood up and called you out on your bullshit than from giving you any sense of power.
This was a planned scheme, they would've had time to rehearse.
I thought they would make her cook her own breakfast.... see if she knows he way around a kitchen, most of her type haven't a clue how to cook
I love my story times with DarkFluff and friends!
first story: I've had migraines. Was told by a manager (not the owner) to take tums and show up. called 6 hours ahead, was told to just show up and do light work. called 2 hours ahead and was told "If you don't show up, consider yourself fired."
Alright, bet.
FYI peppermint oil on your temples and forehead helps get rid of migraines.
Sadly, that's just a bad allergic reaction, for me.
I am glad you found something that works well for you, though.
@@s.h.6858oh no sorry to hear that. Thanks
We love you Dark fluff!! Thank you for all of your content!
I love these stories. I'm so glad I am not in retail!
First story: That manager did so many illegal things in a short ammount of time. Too bad she wasn't fired.
That last story made me think of the "Buttplugs" crank call.
Story 1: I guess I’m lucky, mine only last a couple hours at most, but I get the aura kind where my vision gets partially blacked out and sparkly, so it makes if very difficult to work.
I work at an auto parts store and story 5 is ACCURATE
Havent had migraines since 1995
Disclaimer: Ask your physician before starting this "therapy".
In story one, I would have found a way to "alert" all associates as to how she deals with employees and what was said outcome!
Thank you for new stories Fluff 🥰
As a former Director of Operations, managers take scheduling way too seriously. You can work short staffed. Do nothing, say something supportive, and DOCUMENT the incident. Guys like me read those reports and will figure out who is the problem. Cover it by asking people to stay late, call in your overtime hounds, and pick up some duties yourself. This is a ten minute issue at most!
The model is to staff dangerously short currently. Often just a few people for an entire store. Just fyi
I suffer chronic headaches and migraines and the lingering effects tend to last a week for me.
Problem being too smart, is knowing I'll died ALONE
*Sigh* Gotta do the dishes.
Oh Darkfluff has posted! Wooo!
