Hi Elisabeth, sadly its not as simple as just switching an ingredient as the recipe would need to be recalculated for the new lye amount. Check out other palm free recipes and add these additions to it :)
Do you think this would keep a brighter red if I used kaolin Clay instead of the red clay? Also, did it keep the watermelon scent once you processed it?
I don't think it would change the colour much but you might prefer the rose clay which is more pinky red. There is no scent from the watermelon fruit in the soap but you could add a watermelon fragrance oil.
Hello from Alabama, USA. I love watching your videos. They are always interesting. I have never used watermelon but I have used cucumber, wine and coffee. I do have a question though. For some reason I have a terrible time getting my essential oil scents to stay in my soap. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Carmin, I love cucumber in soap too :D Your wine and coffee soaps sound lovely! The scent could be down to the amount of essential oil being used, the temperature of your oils when adding the essential oil and the actual blend of essential oils being used. Generally citruses don't hold very well on their won and you often need base notes to help anchor the scent
Yes I have used watermelon, pawpaw and Apple juice in soap.
Oh wow, I've never used paw paw in soap. I bet it was lovely!
Lovely idea.. thanks so much 😻
Hi Nerina, I'm so glad you liked it!!
Sara I just love your videos, they are so relaxing.
Christina, that makes it all worth while to hear that you enjoy them :). Thank you x
So the fruit will not spoil and begin to breakdown or compost? I love your videos! 😊
Very beautiful. I have used pawpaw, banana, tomato and orange juice for soap before.
Sounds great! I really must try paw paw one day, it's not one I have tried in soap!
@@SoapSchoolUK it's going to be great
Lovely.
I appreciate you spending time with me today Audrey :)
Hi if i don't have palm oil, can i substitute with another ingredient? Thank you
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Aww thanks Erica, I appreciate you spending time with me today x
Hello, beautiful soap. What can I use as a substitute for palm oil? Can I use a butter, such as Mango butter?

Do any of the benefits come through the saponification process

Since you added food to the soap, will it go bad soon?
Hi Christina, no. If the fruits are fully pureed or juiced they work really well in soap
What can I use instead of palm
✌👏👏👏
