Luz caring about Amity's well being in more than a status or financial way is what makes Luz's love for Amity so much more better than any kind of care that Odalia ever showed for her own daughter. Luz loves Amity for who she is, let's her be who she is and can be, and most importantly she cares in a way that only her own siblings ever showed in her life but even theirs was incomplete because of the sibling life. Luz was the one to break through and showed her the courage to be the person she truly wanted to be and not who her mother wanted her to be.
