You've listed some killer titles there, but I wouldn't class any as pure platform games. Exolon you can check out now doing well on my Platform Shooter Video, with the others all scheduled to appear in their respective categories in the coming months.
I should also mention that these are lists of the Greatest games, not the best as that is completely subjective of course. I feel Greatness is much more measurable quantity after all these years.
@@RetroGamingElvin My bad, apparently, I can't read and didn't realize this is a list of platformers. I've never been a big platformer fan, no wonder this list didn't click with me at all.
1:50 - I had absolutely no idea the kind of fake 3d scrolling effect was even possible on Spectrum! That's actually amazing!
Yes, Nebulus was very original and looked / played great on the 8-bit versions.
Im getting a ZX Touch soon. Cant wait for Manic Miner & Jet Set Willy - curses ahoy, the dog will hide lol 😅
Enjoy, I think you're correct about the potential for colourful language, but worth it.
Manic miner is still the hardest game I've ever played
Super hard game, that feeling when you make a good run and then are booted all the way back to the start.
I respectfully disagree with this list. In fact, it missed everything of my Top 4:
- Nether Earth
- Myth
- R-Type
- Exelon
