Excellent video!! Thankyou. This series is the most informative and easy to understand set of videos on the bravo outdrives I have seen. I am currently in the market for an upgraded drive to replace mine. I have a mirage 257 with a 540cu in.- blower shop 10-71 that scattered the outdrive, of course. I will be getting in touch with you because of these videos. Thanks again for the great info!
I’m going through an upper unit rebuild and am curious of this as well. I’ve searched through a few Mercruiser shop manuals with no luck. Awesome videos.
Hey Dave! I have a 1991 7.4 with a bravo 2, and I found a lower bravo 3 that came off a 1995 boat with the same motor and weight. Would I need to change the gearing in the upper assembly if I wanted to use it or is it just an easy bolt-on?

Can the top gear and cone clutch in a bravo 3 be pulled out without removing the drive from the boat and pulling out the driveshaft and gear?
I watched the wrong video on changing the gear oil, ended up not filling it properly and smoked my pinion gear. Where can I find these parts.
Thank you very much.
Great stuff. Is a 2002/2003 Bravo 3X considered an early X drive? Is a Bravo 3X Diesel any different? (0M174172)
What should the backlash be on the pinion gear? I can't find it.....

depends on the gear ration, but it might be just a simple bolt on
